The Department has 28 tenure-stream faculty and 11 full-time instructors. The BS in Cybersecurity major started in Spring 2018, resulting in four major choices: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, and Cybersecurity. Faculty members are currently executing $9.6 million in active external research grants from NSF, DoD, NIH, NIST, industry, and state sources. Twelve Department faculty members are NSF CAREER awardees. The Department awarded 295 BS degrees, 67 MS degrees, and 12 PhD degrees in academic year 2017. USF CSE is in the top sixth (rank 31) of Computer Science departments at U.S. public universities, according to most recent Academic Analytics data based on Scholarly Research Index.* *uses default weights for grants, articles, conferences, awards, and citations.
