Through IV sedation, the sedative is

administered through an IV line to the

hand, or the arm. The patient remains

conscious throughout the treatment, but

will be in a completely relaxed state of

mind without fear or nervousness.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy –

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)

focuses on understanding the root cause

of the patient’s dental fear to come up

with a long-term solution to address this

phobia.

General Anesthesia – This is offered in

hospitals, or dental clinics which have

the necessary facilities and equipment,

for patients whose dental fears may not

be eased by other nervous patient care

options. Under general anesthesia the

patient will be unconscious, with the

whole body rendered numb and unable to

feel pain or discomfort.
