MICHIGAN AVENUE EXTENSION

EASTBURY & CANAL PATHWAY EXTENSIONS

Delta Township currently has 6.47 miles of paved pathways

with an additional 9.55 miles of unpaved pathways. A total of

16.02 miles of walk-able pathways currently exist in our

parks.

As of December 2011 there have been 2,655 units installed.

• Received four energy grants from the Board of Water & Light (Lansing Road, Saratoga, Lighting & Air Dryer) for using energy efficient equipment.

NEW PROGRAMS & EVENTS

• Delta Township hosted the Men’s Class E State Slow Pitch

Qualifier Tournament (13 teams) and the Men’s Class C and D

Slow Pitch State Finals. (20 Teams Total)

• The township took over the chair exercise program held at the

Lansing Mall, which averages over 150 participants per week.

• Arrangements have been made to to host the Filthy 5k at Grand

Woods Park in 2012.

PROPERTY INSPECTIONS

• Completed the reappraisal of all commercial

and industrial properties in the City of

Grand Ledge.

• Staff exceeded its goal of inspecting 2,000

parcels by actually inspecting 2,242

parcels.

ELECTRONIC BILLING/

PAPERLESS CUSTOMERS

• We now have 602 customers signed up for e-bill. Each one

saves us approx. $8 per year. So in total, saving $4,800 a

year.

• Implemented an electronic check payment process, and as of

December 31st Delta Township has 2,203 customers enrolled.

• Outsourced printing/mailing of utility bills resulting in 15%

savings.

• Implemented e-filing for personal property statements as

a cost cutting measure.

KICKED OFF WELLNESS PROGRAM

Wellness Committee Mission Statement

“The Mission of the Delta Township Wellness Committee is to provide a comprehensive program for employee health and wellness, which will serve to improve the overall health of the employees of Delta Township. This will be accomplished through an

ongoing program involving health & fitness assessments, employee needs surveys, customized educational programs and activities.”

73 individuals are registered in this program,

which equates to 63% employee participation.

EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

Studied and made changes to employee health insurance to comply with State law

• Implemented high deductible health plan

• Enrolled 86.46% of eligible employees into an HSA

Changed occupational health care providers to Sparrow Occupational Health

• Number of days lost from work due to injury continues to decrease (9 work days lost in 2011)
