Presidents Message

Autumn moved right on into winter ushering in

holiday celebrations family gatherings and

evenings by the fire Unexpected snow if not

more ice arrived in time to call for school

closings and to present postcard perfect scenes

to be captured by our smart phones Almost back

to normal now we look forward to what is in

store for 2017 Our February chapter meeting is

just around the corner followed soon by the

Beginning life with Books Spelling Bee both

before the Eta State North Carolina Convention

takes place in Wilmington Azaleas will be

blooming then give affirmation to Percy

Shelleyrsquos ldquoO Wind If winter comes can spring

be far behindrdquo

Winter in our town brought the season of death

to the husbands of two of our chapter members

We mourn the loss of Linda Smithrsquos husband

Erastus and Claudia Coxrsquos husband Seth Our

sincere condolences to our Delta Rho Sisters

I am energized by the way Delta Rho Sisters lift

cherish and care for one another We celebrate

each otherrsquos joys and bear one anotherrsquos pain In

so doing our brokenness is made whole and we

move forward

My best to you in winter and until green leaves

appear on the trees again I wish for you an

abundance of Delta Rho spirit

Something to think abouthellip Happy New Year Itrsquos time to put the old year

behind us and celebrate a new year of

possibilities Itrsquos time to make new

resolutionshellipor maybe not My list of 2017

resolutions looks just like 2016 eat healthier

exercise more get organized and learn to use

my iphone I truly wanted to do all of those

things so what happened I had the best of

intentions put lots of thought into it read and

researched made To Do lists but didnrsquot check

off even one of those 2016 resolutions What

kept me from realizing my goals I think I found

the answer while reading a recent reflection by

Mary Anne Perrone entitled 2017 New Yearrsquos

Revolution For All No Longer Waiting

Now I have only one resolution for 2017 ndash lose

ldquowaitrdquo

Irsquom not going to wait until I have time Irsquom

going to make time now

wait for someone to ask me to get involved Irsquom going to volunteer

wait until I know it all Irsquom

going to learn on the job

wait for every ldquoirdquo to be

dotted and every ldquotrdquo crossed Irsquom going to take a risk

wait for acknowledgement

Irsquom going to celebrate my strengths

wait and be paralyzed by

If we wait for the time to be right the outcome
