Cambridge ESOL Delta PRE-INTERVIEW TASK This test is designed to give us a general idea of how much you know about language and what your

attitude is to language learning and teaching. It is not a 'pass or fail' test but is a 'diagnostic' exercise that

will help us to guide and advise you. Please do not use a dictionary or grammar book or ask anyone to

a) Look at lines 1-13 and identify three different verb forms used to talk about the past. b) Explain the use of these verb forms in this context. c) Show, using specific examples, different ways of checking understanding of the use of these verb forms in this context.

Question 2 Task Two Select 6-9 words or phrases which you would expect to be unfamiliar to intermediate learners. a) Which would you pre-teach/check? Why? b) Which words would you encourage learners to guess from context? Explain how this could be done for the words you have selected. c) Which would you not focus on specifically? Why?

3. Lesson Plan

In a different document, please write a lesson plan showing how you would incorporate the above text into a 1 hour lesson for intermediate learners; include main aims, timings, etc., as well as any materials you think necessary.
