Delphi Automotive Delivers Global Experience for Supply Chain Engagement Covisint Platform Central to OEM’s Supplier Network THE CUSTOMER Delphi Automotive is an American multinational automotive part manufacturing company headquartered in Troy, Michigan. Operating in major technical centers, manufacturing sites and customer support facilities in 32 countries, It is one of the world’s largest automotive parts manufacturers and has approximately 146,600 employees. THE BUSINESS CHALLENGE Delphi, which operates many wholly owned manufacturing sites, joint ventures, customers’ centers and more, needed to provide its suppliers with a single, centralized web-based location for content and applications. However, the company lacked this simple yet critical channel for communicating timely, vital information such as plant shutdowns and facilities changes to suppliers. SOLUTION As a Global Tier-1 Supplier, Delphi is closely connected to OEMs and partners with varying needs and a true multi-tiered supplier base. Of course, this global supply base all has its own investments in supply chain management infrastructure and other electronic systems to communicate with internal and external parties. Looking for a way to connect disparate systems in a seamless environment, Delphi deployed Covisint’s B2B cloud platform which provided supplier users with a simple, centralized portal to access all Delphi applications including: • Real-time access to all relevant information in the hands of the right people at precisely the right time. • Single sign-on providing suppliers with a single ID to access relevant information and applications. • Collaboration acceleration, no matter where your business partners are in the world. • Security and compliance leveraging Covisint’s “always on” data centers delivering industry-leading SLAs. • Reduced cost and complexity using a cloud-based approach. • On the day of launch, suppliers were able to use one user ID and password to access multiple customer sites, instantly replacing multiple passwords the same day the portal was launched.
