DPS GREATER NOIDA TEACHER AWARDED BY MINISTRY OF STATE FOR HRD, GOVERNMENT OF INDIA
Mrs. Poonam Dua (PGT Biology) was felicitated with the prestigious CBSE Teachers Award for 2017-18, on September 06, 2018 by Minister of State for HRD in Government of India, Shri Upendra Kushwah. She was awarded with a shawl, certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/-.
Having joined the Delhi Public School, Greater Noida in the year 2003 as PGT Biology,
she has been associated with the school since last 18 years. She inculcates her love for
her subject in the students by relating it to values of society and day to day life
activities. She adopts blended learning pedagogical approach where amalgamation of
methods like learning by doing, seminars, learning by surveys and projects are
implemented. She has organised and attended a number of academic and social
sensitization workshops for teachers and students. Various sensitization drives like
minimize use of tissue papers, plastic free school bag, drug abuse etc. have been
undertaken by her. She was also felicitated the Best Teacher Award by Uttar Pradesh
Pollution Control Board in collaboration with centre for Environment and Education in
2014 for her work done on paper and water conservation.

On having scored 99.2 aggregate in the CBSE Examination 2017-18, Varishtha Saroha and
Saumya Dubey, the toppers of Delhi Public School, Greater Noida were felicitated by the
Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath and other dignitaries on May 29, 2018.
Each of them were awarded a tablet and a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000/- alongwith a medal
and a Certificate of Appreciation

Reliance Foundation nominated three meritorious students of the school for the “Dhirubhai Ambani Scholarship 2018” for pursuing their college education, namely Saumya Dubey, Varishtha Saroha and Vidhi Jain.
C. V Raman Science Quest:Mukund Maurya of class IX was awarded the
Chairman’s Scholarship Award and received the annual scholarship of Rs. 6000/- in
the ‘C. V Raman Science Quest’ held at K.R Mangalam School, New Delhi.
‘Tokyo International University’ has granted full scholarship to one student of DPS Greater Noida for a Graduate course either in ‘International Relations’ or ‘Business Management’. Paushya Saroha has been shortlisted for the same. The invitation has been extended to the Principal for the visit in Japan in November 2018 for a 5 day familiarization tour to the University of Tokyo. Ms. Babita Bhakuni, the Japanese language teacher will be visiting Japan during this session,to attend a programme on ‘Japanese Language Teaching’ A delegation of six teachers / senior faculty from various higher institutions of Japan will visit DPS Greater Noida for a day-long programme and class observation on observations on 07th August 2018.
DPS, Greater Noida has been a proud recipient of the International School Award
(2015-2018) by the British Council. Yet again, due to the outstanding presentation of dossier
worked out on the International Explorations by the teachers and students under the
guidance of the Principal, the school again has been conferred upon with the prestigious
International School Award (2018 – 2021).
Excellence in competitive exams:
FIITJEE: FIITJEE Talent Reward Examination was held on December 24, 2018. Pushp
Srivastava of class XI and Shiven Tripathi of class XII received Gold and Mukund Maurya
and Madhav Manish Gulati of class IX received Bronze trophies.
National Cyber Olympiad: was conducted in the school premises on January 30, 2018 in
which 30 students appeared from classes VI – XI. Nine students are among the top 100
at the All India Level. Mukund Maurya of class VIII secured the 1st position at Zonal and
3rd position at the International level while Prisha Maurya of class VI got the 3rd
position in the Zonal and 46th position at the International level.
Unified Cyber Olympiad: conducted the II level on 4th February, 2018. Out of 11
students, who had qualified from the I level, 9 students are among the top 100 at All
India Rank.
International Spanish Examination DELE A1/A2/B1 (ESCOLAR) 2018
On May 18, 2018, 10 students appeared for International Spanish Exam DELE A1/A2/B1
Escolar conducted by Instituto Cervantes in New Delhi.
Co-Scholastic AWARDS
Inspire Awards: To augment inspiration and knowledge amongst students towards
Science, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, invited
entries for Inspire Awards - Manak Scheme. To provide equal opportunity for
participation, project ideas were invited from students of classes VI - X. The following
four projects – from class VII, VIII, IX and X, were sanctioned for the award and a grant of
Rs. 10,000 per student:

DLEPC: These students also presented their projects at the District Level Exhibition and
Project Competition (DLEPC) which was held on 24th February, 2018 at Balika Inter
College, Noida. After evaluation of the project demonstration and presentation by
students, Driver Fatigue Detector model of Daksh Varshney was awarded 1st position by
the panel of experts and AVOIDS-Automatic Vehicle Overload Information Detection and
Stop model of Rohan Arora got 3rdposition.
Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan Competition: Amitesh Dwivedi of class VII represented the
school and was awarded the 2nd position at the State Level Round of Vidyarthi Vigyan
Manthan Competition at Jai Narayan Vidya Mandir Inter College, Vikas Nagar, Kanpur on
1st April 2018.He was selected for the National Level Round which was held on 12-13
May 2018 in Mumbai. A cash prize of Rs. 3000/- along with a medal and certificate were
awarded.
Anjani Goel of class XI participated in the All India 5th Korea – India Friendship Essay
Competition 2017.
INTERNATIONAL TRIPS
Trip to France: Ms. Sarita Sharma, PRT French, got an opportunity from Alliance
Francaise de Lyon to study further in French under the course “Cours de Francais”.
She visited Lyon, France from January 4 to January 17, 2018.
Trip to Japan: 06 students were selected for the short term visit program called
“Sakura Science Plan High School Batch 2018” which was held from May 26 to June
02, 2018. The program was completely funded by the Government of Japan.
Mr. D. K. Jha (PGT, Physics) escorted the students.
Trip to Sri Lanka: Vaishnavvi Jaiswal of class IX got an opportunity to be part of the BKD
Jugend camp in Sri Lanka from June 3 to June 9, 2018 organised for German learning students
by the Goethe Institut. The trip comprised varied activities such as trekking, cultural evenings
and numerous workshops.
SPORTS:
The swimming champs of the school have made the school proud with their excellent
performance in the UP State Aquatic Championship which was held at Varanasi (Sub
Jr.) and Bareilly (Jr.) from 19th to 28th May 2018. The students won 28 gold, 3 silver
and 3 bronze medals. Disha Bhandari, Ananya Singh and Sneha Patnaik were
awarded the best swimmer in their respective category. More than 200 competitors
from 13 Districts of Uttar Pradesh had participated. Ananya Singh, Disha Bhandari,
Arya Singh, Trishna Waghmare and Sneha Patnaik are selected for the National which
will be held at Pune (Maharasthra) from 21st June to 27th June 2018.
Shagun Thapliyal got the rare honour to be selected to participate in the Thai
International Japanese Camp held from May 1 to May 5, 2018 in Bangkok
Rithwik Anand won 100% scholarship to Langley Football Training camp in
United Kingdom held in May 2018.
Three students participated in The DPS National Squash Championship 2018 (Girls)
which was held at DPS R. K Puram on July 20 and 21, 2018. DPS Greater Noida won the
fourth position event.
The DPS National Squash Championship 2018 (Boys) was held at DPS Expressway
Noida, on July 27 and 28, 2018. Four students participated and won the Bronze medal
in team event.
Aditya Dagar of class V and Kanik Dagar of class VI won Gold and Silver Medal (U-13)
respectively, in the District Badminton Championship held at Hapur on July 29, 2018
They also bagged the Gold medal in Doubles (U–13) and have been selected for the UP
State tournament.
Achintya Upadhyay of class I participated in the 10th Noida Open Swimming Meet 2018
held on August 4 and 5, 2018 at Sports and Cultural Club, Noida. He bagged the III
position in 50 meters (Free style) and got a Bronze medal .
An Inter DPS National Swimming Championship Girls (Open) was held on August 11
and 13, 2018 at DPS, Noida. 17 DPS schools participated in the championship. DPS,
Greater Noida won 04 gold medals, 05 silver and 06 bronze medals respectively.
The tiny tots of classes I and II represented DPS, Greater Noida in the 21st
Kanwar Ashish Annual Cricket Tournament held at DPS, R. K Puram from
September 10 to 20, 2018. The team performed very well and reached the
quarter finals.
Our school swimming champs (girls) have made the school proud. 04 students
participated in the Inter DPS National swimming meet girls (U – 14) 2018 on
September 28 and 29, 2018 held at DPS, Chandigarh. Ananya Singh of class
VII secured the first position while Sneha Patnaik of class VII, Trishna A
Waghmare of class VI and Simran Mohanty of VII took the second position in
various competitions, respectively. The students bagged 3 gold medals, 07
silver and 01 bronze medal.
Ayushi Dhasmana & Agrima Singh of class X secured the 3rd position in the CBSE Badminton Clusters (North Zone) Girls, under-17 tournament which was held at Jaycees Public School, Rudrapur, Uttarakhand from 9th to 13th October, 2018. Total 380 teams of CBSE schools of north zone have participated in this event.

Other achievements
National Science Centre, New Delhi organized ‘Innovation Festival’ on January 20 and
21, 2018, aiming to foster passion and aptitude for Science and Technology and to
provide a unique platform to innovative and creative innovators. The competition was
held at a National level and was open to all age groups from 8 to 80 years. Aayush
Bhansali of class VII won the1st prize in Creative Robo design and also in his innovative
idea of EVM into reality with a working model.
Interactive Yoga Session: Keeping in tune with its consistent emphasis on adopting Yoga
as an essential part of our daily lives, DPS Greater Noida organized an enriching and
interactive Yoga session, exclusively for its staff members on 17th February, 2018. Nearly
500 members of the teaching and non- teaching faculty of the school participated in the
event which was conducted by Acharya Avanish Manav, renowned exponent of Yoga
and Naturopathy ,who is currently associated with the ministry of HRD, Govt. Of India.
The 2 hour long session was a unique initiative by Prof. B P Khandelwal, Hon’ble
Chairman, DPS Greater Noida. Speaking on the occasion, the Principal Ms. Renu
Chaturvedi reiterated the need for all to turn to Yoga to overcome stress and to develop
strength and stamina to face the tough challenges of life. The event was also graced by
Ms. Sharda Manocha, Joint Director,HRDC, DPS Society.
Professor B. P Khandelwal, proposed the vote of thanks and complimented the DPS
fraternity for having integrated Yoga into the school curriculum to help the students
reap its rich dividends.
NCC, ‘B’ certificate written examination was conducted by 31 NCC Girls Battalion on
February 26, 2018. 10 girls were awarded the ‘B’ certificate.
National Science Exhibition: was organized by CBSE, at the Gurukul School Ghaziabad in which a model made by Daksh Varshney of Class X (which would alert the driver, if he feels sleepy while driving), was highly appreciated and shortlisted. 140 CBSE Schools participated in the Competition.
Flower Show - 2018 was organized by the GNIDA from 09th to 11th March 2018 at Samrat Mihir Bhoj Park. DPS Greater Noida bagged 17 prizes in 23 categories:
First Prizes (2) – in School Campus Category, Artistic arrangement of Flowers.
Second Prizes (09) – in various categories.

International Day of Forest was jointly organized by the Ministry of Environment and
Forest and U. P Forest Department on March 21, 2018 at the Okhla bird Sanctuary,
Noida in which eight students participated in various competitions. Four students won
prizes in Painting.
World Yoga Day was celebrated on June 21, 2018 in the school where 1250 NCC cadets
from 40 U P Battalion who were also a part of a ten day CATC camp participated. The
cadets started their day performing Surya Namaskar and other Asanas. Group
Commander Brigadier S P Sinha motivated the cadets to incorporate yoga into the
regular life style as it helps in building a positive aura and attitude and controls restless
thoughts.
Combined Annual Training Camp , NCC: The NCC Boys and Girls , Combined Annual Training Camp was organized at DPS Greater Noida ,from 15th to 23rd June, 2018 by 40 UPBN NCC Battalion, Sikandrabad, U.P. The teachers in charge were Mr.Avadesh Yadav, Ms.Nirmala Rathore and Ms.Kalpana Chauhan. In this camp 620 cadets (490- Boys & 130-Girls) of 15 NCR schools and other districts participated, showing exemplary enthusiasm and discipline. It was a combined camp of the following 10 different battalions of the Ghaziabad Group Command /Headquarters.

o Activities and rallies on campaigns such as – Save the Girl Child, Save Water, Swachha Bharat Abhiyan, Beti Bachao Beti padhao & Digital Payment Awareness Campaign.
o Coaching in Basketball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Athletics & Tug of War. o Cultural Events- Group & Solo Dance, Singing, Play & Nukkad Natak. o Slogan writing, Group Discussion, Stand-up comedy, Poster making competition,
GK quiz, Collage making & Poem recitation. Students who underwent this training stand a good chance to take on Military Service in future as they are given preference over other candidates based on their achievements in the corps.
A feedback session by the students, who participated in the Thai International Japanese Camp 2018 was organized at the Japan Foundation, New Delhi on July 13, 2018.
Fortnight long intra school competitions were organised for the students of classes II to
XII as part of the English fest – Myriad Manifestations’2018. The fest flagged off to a
great start and the enthusiasm of the students was palpable. The culmination was
organized in the school on 11th May 2018 in which 18 leading schools from Delhi NCR
including 11 Delhi Public Schools participated in 3 events namely Play your perspective
(Theme based play), Whiz quiz (Language & literature quiz) and Argy Bargy (on the spot
debate). Delhi Public School, Greater Noida bagged the first prize in Play your
perspective and in Argy Bargy. Tanay Saluja of class XII won the best speaker for the
motion and Samriddhi Chaudhary of class XII bagged the best speaker against the
motion.The best interjector went to DPS, Gautam Buddh Nagar.The host school DPS,
Greater Noida bagged the overall trophy.
Delhi Public School, Greater Noida hosted ‘Premchand ki Virasaat’, an Inter school
literary event on May 16, 2018 in which 15 Delhi Public Schools participated. The
students mesmerized the Judges and the audience with the enactment of the popular
stories of Premchand. DPS Greater Noida staged ‘Ek Aanch ki Kasar’ which bagged the
First position, while DPS, Vidyut Nagar and DPS, Dwarka won the second and the third
prize, respectively. Two consolation prizes were awarded to DPS, Noida and DPS
Bulandshahar, respectively.
Triveni: An Annual Inter DPS Literary Event (Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu) – ‘Triveni – 2018’ was
held at DPS, Bulandshahr, on April 28, 2018 where students of the school participated.
Panchtatva - An Environment National Festival – organized at DPS, R. K Puram on April
21, 2018 where students secured 1st position in Book of Ideas Part – 1 (Off site) and
2ndposition in Book of ideas part – 2 (on-site).
SMTE:
A six days academic camp was organised for SMTE Level 2 qualifiers by DPS Society at
HRD Centre, Dwarka from May 21 to 26, 2018, to provide exposure to higher quality
academic content and challenges, concept development and to keep the students
abreast of latest developments. To arouse the curiosity and scientific temper and to
expose the young minds to the world of Science and Mathematics, activity sessions
were conducted. Madhav Gulati of class IX with other team members won the first
position in a two level quiz based on NTSE.
Eight students from class IX visited Sharda University on April 23, 2018 to participate in
the Earth Day Celebration. DPS Greater Noida bagged III position in Quiz and Essay
writing with a cash prize of Rs. 3000/- in each category.
‘NAMASTE DEUTSCHLAND’- An Inter – school event, was celebrated at Genesis Global
School, Noida in collaboration with Max Mueller Bhawan, Delhi on April 28, 2018. DPS,
Greater Noida participated in various event like Modeschau, Mosaic and
Redewettbewerb. Dev Soni of class XI bagged the 2nd prize in the Redewettbewerb
(Extempore) competition.
UNPLUGGED, a Computer Symposium was organized at Khaitan Public School, Noida on
May 04, 2018, where 17 students participated from the school. The school secured 1st
Position in Robotics and 2ndposition in Symposium.
BATTLE OF WORDS, an Inter school Debate competition was hosted by the Lotus Valley
International School on May 08, 2018, wherein 19 schools of Delhi – NCR had
participated. The topic of the debate was ‘We should get rid of the shackles of the past
to go forward to a brighter future’. Samriddhi Choudhary of class XII was adjudged best
speaker against the motion.
A painting competition ‘Parivartan’2018 was held at the campus of St. Joseph school,
Greater Noida on May 5, 2018. 26 students from classes of V to XI participated in the
same. Shaararav (class I), Prerna S. Kumar (Class IV) bagged the second prize while
Saraswati (Class IX) won the third prize . Ariba Rafiq (Class IV), Sohit Patro (Class VI),
Samridhi (Class VII), Manya Singh (Class XI), Saumya Garg (Class IX) and Ghazal Rana
(Class IX) won the consolation prize.
A Hindi, Inter school debate competition was organized at The Lotus Valley School on
May 09, 2018 on the topic ‘Is tab an alternative for books’? Students from 18 schools
participated where they were judged on the basis of Presentation, Pronunciation,
Confidence and Theme.
XINO – An inter school Computer Fest was held on May 12, 2018 at DPS, Rohini.
Ms. Swati Pandey and Ms. Monika Sharma escorted 10 students who participated in
various events like Exquisite, Extreme Pursuit, Execute .exe etc.
A workshop/ exhibition ‘TINKER FEST’ was organized at BalBharti Public School, Noida
on May 19, 2018. Ayush Bhansali of class VIII and Aniket Gupta of class VII attended
the workshop and had hand on experience with the latest technology dealing in
Robotics.
RAGGABUND CONCERT: A musical concert “RAAGABUND" was organised at DPS,
Indirapuram in the month of November, in collaboration with Max Mueller Bhawan. 20
students from classes IX and X of DPS, Greater Noida were present to witness this
concert. After the concert the results of a competition were announced where 2
students –Dev Soni and Pranjal Sharma from DPS, Greater Noida bagged the first prize
i.e. a regional camp in Sri - Lanka from 10th June'18 to 16th June'18.
SWARANJALI: An Inter DPS Zonal level Music competition was organized at DPS,
Dwarka where 8 students of DPS Greater Noida participated. Aryaa Mishra of class VIII
bagged the 2nd position and qualified for the National level to be held in the month of
November.
The Annual Inter – DPS French Language Festival, Postcards from Paris – 2018 was held
at DPS R. K. Puram on August 4, 2018. Eleven students from classes VI to X participated
in 7 events. Akshita Adarsh and Radhika Gupta of class X secured I position in Poetry
writing while Akshi Adarsh also of class X got the III prize in JAM.
NCC Group Commander Visit: Group Commander S. P Sinha, NCC Group headquarters,
Ghaziabad inspected the Annual Visit conducted by the 40 UP BN Boys Battalion –
Sikandrabad and NCC 31 UP Girls NCC Battalion, Greater Noida at DPS, Greater Noida on
August 31, 2018. 800 students of class IX & X alongwith 150 NCC cadets participated in
the same. The NCC cadets planted 30 saplings of various medicinal plants. Speaking to
the cadets on the occasion, Commander S. P Sinha highlighted the imperative need for
planting more trees.
10 students represented DPS Greater Noida at the India Fest, an Inter School Music and
Dance competition held at DPS, R. K Puram on September 28, 2018. They bagged the
First prize in the Group song.
SCHOOL FUNCTIONS
Sports Mantra-An annual Sports Day was held for the Junior wing on March10,
2018.The sprawling school campus was witness to a splendid display of skill,
concentration and agility as the young champions won everyone’sheart with a
breath taking presentation of Yoga , Aerobics and races, besides a potpourri of
songs and dances .The parents also joined in the fun , sportingly participating in a
‘Fisher folk race’, much to the amusement of their children. Shri. Kumar Vineet
Additional District Magistrate and many other dignitaries graced the occasion with
their benign presence.
Avni Avenues:
Month long activities centered around creating environment consciousness,
werebrought to a culmination with “Avni Avenues” on May 09, 2018. The school
celebrated the bounties of nature through the universal language of Music and Dance.
Participantsfrom 10 schools of Delhi and NCR presented songs
and dances based on the theme – ‘Vasundhara’. The school
choirs sang in praise ofthe beauty of the Mother Nature while
the dances represented folk forms from around the world-
celebrating, man’s bond with the earth.
Career Counselling workshops:
In order to help the students understand Career options available and help them choose
the right career, 22 counseling sessions were organized for the senior students from
April 20, 2018 to May 03, 2018.

How to crack the competitive exams
Aggression Management workshop was organized at Fortis Hospital on April 17, 2018
at Fortis Hospital. Ms. Jyotsna Vats (School Counsellor)escorted four students to the
workshop which revolved around ‘Teenage aggression and positive ways to handle
negative emotions’.
As many as 39 students participated in the Noida Portfolio Workshop held by Pearl
Academy, Noida on May 05, 2018.Students from all streams found it extremely helpful
in attending the projects from three schools of the academy – School of Fashion, Design
and Business. Eight different workshops along with workshop for teachers on styling
and photography were also held.
Life skills workshop was organized for the students of classes X to XII by Ms. Rashi
Ahuja on May 3, 4, 8, 11, 15 & 18, 2018. The main highlights of the workshop were self
awareness, understanding emotions, time management etc.
Webinar on ‘Bully to Buddy’, was attended by Ms. Jyotsna Vats held at Fortis Hospital,
Noida on May 18, 2018. Students of classes VI and above were a part of the workshop.
Various methods of prevention and action plan for bullying were discussed.
A workshop on Peer pressure and anti bullying was conducted by Ms. Ira Sehgal on
July 12, 2018, for the students of classes VII & VIII in collaboration with Scholastic.
HEALTH & WELLNESS COMMITTEE AND SPARSH CLUB: Sparsh club deals with various issues children need to be aware of. As a part of this club, a number of sessions were conducted for the students on various topics like bullying, Stress Management, Aggression Management, Personal Hygiene, Media Literacy, Peer pressure, Discipline, Good touch and Bad Touch. Students are counselled to share everything good or bad, the importance of staying together, avoiding deserted places and keeping themselves safe from harm.
The Investiture ceremony of the Students council 2018-19 was held at Delhi Public
School Greater Noida on 27 September 2018. It was a solemn occasion with the young
leaders all prepared to don the mantle of leadership and lead their school with
confidence, competence and commitment.
Dr. Anil Kumar Upadhaya Member Managing Committee, DPS Greater Noida was the
Chief Guest. Mr. A.K. Sharma Consultant – Projects, DPS Society, was the Guest of
Honour, along with other distinguished guests graced the occasion.
Extending a warm welcome to the distinguished guests, the Principal, Mrs. Renu
Chaturvedi, in her welcome address said that it was a momentous day for the senior
students but with their empowerment would come the responsibilities and challenges
of instilling discipline among their fellow students.
The honourable Chief Guest , administered the oath of office to the newly elected
members of the student council.
The newly inducted Head Boys and Head Girls promised to work to the best of their
capabilities and abide by the traditions of the school.
The highlight of the programme was the excerpts of the motivational Speech by Swami
Vivekananda in Chicago, which continues to reverberate and inspire generations.
INITIVATIVEs TOWARDS COMMITMENT TO A SOCIAL CAUSE
BOOK DONATION DRIVE: was organized in the month of May by the members of
the Interact club of classes VI to VIII where the students donated their old books for the
under-privileged students who are willing to learn but cannot afford to buy the books.
Say No to Plastic (Paper Bag Making taken as a mission)- The School students
were given to make bags from the news papers after a training and collective workshop
held for the students to make it a useful thing to be given to the shopkeepers of the
area. The target is to make nearly one lack paper bags.
CLEAN CANTEEN DRIVE: “Cleanliness is next to Godliness”. Keeping this in mind,
the students of classes VI-VIII of Interact club started a ‘clean canteen drive’ in the
month of May 2018.The interact members were stationed in the canteen during the
break and requested the students to throw the used paper plates, wrappers and foils in
the dustbins.
Behtar India session - An Interactive session was held in the school on
26th April,2018 (Thursday) by Behtar India in association with REPUBLIC TV and
CAF(Charities Aid Foundation)India. They are partners in the prestigious campaign
“BEHTAR INDIA” which aims to provide better health, Hygiene and Environment to the
people of India. About 2000 students from (Class VI to X) participated in this session.
Swachh Bharat Cleanliness Campaign : Delhi Public School, Greater Noida undertook a
cleanliness drive with a series of activities from September 24 to 28, 2018 in consonance
with the nation-wide Swachh Bharat Cleanliness Campaign launched by Prime Minister
on October 02, 2014. The school chalked out a plan to organize Slogan writing, Poster
making, Paragraph writing, Plantation drives and cleaning classrooms.The students took
a pledge to clean their school, homes, public places & surroundings and to make the
habit a part of their lives, not an occasional event.
Day 1- 24.09.18
Slogan writing – The activity “Slogan writing” was organized to make the students aware
about the cleanliness drive. Such activities exhibit students artistic, creative and articulation
skills. Students wrote slogans both in Hindi and English.
Thereafter, students went from class to class with placards, spreading the message of keeping
the environment clean.
Day 2 – 25.09.18
Poster Making -The aim of this competition was not merely to see the creative aspect but also
to trigger the thought process of the children and sensitize them towards keeping our
surroundings clean. Students made beautiful and informative posters depicting “My Vision of
a Clean India”
Day 3- 26.09.18
Paragraph Writing- The school organized a paragraph writing competition for the students.
The school believes that such types of competitions help in developing essential writing skills
and also go a long way to boost confidence of the children. The topic for the competition was,
“I can make my country clean by...”. The main motive was to bring awareness among students
and also to showcase the ability to express words in their own way.
Day 4- 27.09.18
Plantation of saplings - The students planted saplings, and named them and watered the
plants. They used small pots and used bottles as planters. This activity instilled in them the
necessity to keep the environment clean and green by planting saplings. Even if each one,
plants one tree annually, it will create a big impact on global warming.
Day 5- 28.09.18
Cleaning classrooms- Cleaning the classroom was a part of the cleanliness drive. Students
brought Colin, gloves, dusters and masks and spruced up their classrooms enthusiastically as
a part of the cleanliness drive.
SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON CLEANLINESS DRIVE ON EVE OF GANDHI JAYANTI

Topic – Culmination of the ‘Cleanliness Drive’
Delhi Public School, Greater Noida organized a special assembly on Cleanliness Drive under
Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan Programme on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti. The main purpose of this
assembly was to create awareness among the students regarding Cleanliness and its benefits.
The assembly started with a prayer followed by a thought. A musical act was done by students
of class IV depicting how cleanliness is important to stay away from diseases like Dengue and
Malaria when some do’s and don’ts were shown by the students.
To support their resolution, a PPT was also shown, which laid emphasis one the PRONGS of
Gandhiji which are to have a clean mind, clean body and clean surroundings. A film depicting
all the activities of the week was also viewed. The Principal, Mrs. Renu Chaturvedi, addressed
the students and shared with them, the importance of sanitation, keeping our house, school
and country clean. She shared her childhood memories related to 2nd October and encouraged
students to see the film-Gandhi.
Prabhat Pheri
Date 1.10.18
Senior students of the school, along with their teachers, set out on a Prabhat Pheri in the
neighbourhood of the school. They held aloft meaningful slogans related to cleanliness. They
walked down the streets raising slogans and spreading the message of a Clean India. They
raised slogans, exhorting the residents of the neighbourhood to adopt measures that kept the
surroundings clean and healthy.
On returning to the school, they collectively sang Vaishnaava Jana To and Raghupati Raghava-
in memory of Mahatma Gandhi and pledged to walk the path shown by him and make this
world an abode of sensitive citizens, who care for their environment and are imbued with
empathy for others.
It is hoped that the habit of cleanliness along with other Gandhian principles will find seed
within the students and shall be practiced throughout their lifetimes.
A WINDOW TO THE JUNIOR & PRIMARY WING OF THE SCHOOL
Mother’s Day was celebrated by the students of classes Nursery to I, to honour and
show appreciation to the mothers, on May 4, 2018. The programme included aerobics,
followed by group song performance by the mothers. Various other activities were
planned, where the mothers enthusiastically participated.
Fathers’ Day: To honour this precious bond, the prep
classes celebrated "Father's Day Out "event on May 5,
2018.Our tiny tots welcomed dads with the rhyme -
"Your arms are my shelter".
The dads lighted the candles and placed them on map
of India. They also participated with their kids in
interesting activities like role play,yoga and song.
A Summer Camp was conducted for the tiny tots of classes Nursery to I from May 16 to
18, 2018. Fun filled activities like Dance, Music, Yoga, Aerobics, Fun with Athletics, Role-
play etc. were organized for them.
