PBIS- Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports: Essentially a code of conduct for the entire Delaware School Community, students, faculty and staff, and families. Our focus is on the “Three Bs”: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible. Specific behavior and expectations have been defined for various locations and situations.

Future Leaders: Each month students are recognized at Morning Program assembly for their leadership based on a specific trait or characteristic the children are focused on that month. For example, empathy, kindness, responsibility, friendship, etc.

True parent involvement has two key elements. First, parents are supportive. They encourage their children and are sympathetic, reassuring, and understanding. They show a high level of commitment to their children and their education. Second, parents are active. They are doing something that is observable.

1. PARENTING: Help all families establish home environments to support children as students.· Parent education · Family support programs to assist with health, nutrition, and other services.

2. COMMUNICATING: Design effective forms of school-to-home and home-to-school communications about school programs and children’s progress.· Conferences · Language translators to assist families as needed. · Regular scheduled and as needed communication

3. VOLUNTEERING: Recruit and organize parent help and support· School and classroom volunteer program to help teachers, administrators, students, and other parents

Students Assessments

Fountas & Pinnell. Reading text is classified A to Z according to word count, number of different words, number of high-frequency words, sentence length, sentence complexity, word repetitions, illustration support, etc.

While young children display a wide distribution of reading skills, each level is tentatively associated with a school grade. Students are guided toward books appropriate for their reading level to develop the next level of skills for growth.

aimsweb is a universal screening, progress monitoring, and data management system that supports Response to Intervention (RTI) and tiered instruction. aimsweb uses brief, valid, and reliable measures of reading and math performance for grades K-12 enabling early intervention if necessary. With progress monitoring, aimsweb whether students are progressing sufficiently to meet year-end goals.

NWEA This computer-based testing system, MAP, is built on 30 years of research and refinement, and adapts to the child in real-time as the test progresses for a pinpoint picture of learning achievement and readiness. Students are presented with test questions at different levels of difficulty, that adjust based on their responses. At the end of a testing sequence, the student receives an overall score, called RIT that indicates the appropriate instructional level regardless of grade level.

New York State exams are used to measure the extent to which individual students achieve the NYS learning standards in particular subjects and to determine whether schools, districts and the State meet the required progress targets specified in the NYS accountability system, Common Core ELA and Mathematics, and No Child Left Behind.

AIMSweb utiliza medidas breves , válidas y confiables de la lectura y el rendimiento de matemáticas para los grados K- 12 que permite una intervención temprana si es necesario. Con el monitoreo del progreso , AIMSweb si los estudiantes están progresando lo suficiente como para cumplir con las metas de fin de año .
