The closing leg of the early Pick 5 is a compe66ve turf allowance for fillies and mares. Looking at Op#xPLOT 2020, the pace is one of those tricky YELLOW PlotFit that shows a “Sun” Conten#on and honest 45 SpeedRate despite the lack of true E or EP types in the Op#xRPM. Trip will be key here as well as the ability to finish (Square) given this scenario. Three main players, #4 GYPSY SPIRIT, #7 GALLOVIE and #8 MUCHLY all posi6on as Squares in Quad I, with liDle separa6on looking at them on the Plot. Op#xNOTES are very helpful in this case as all three are exi6ng the common race on July 27 th . GYPSY SPIRIT earned the B Op#xGRADE that day and did so making an early move (X_FLOW) to take a short lead only to get caught at the wire. Trip was favorable for GALLOVIE as she was able to race covered up inside (POCKET) and just even in that show finish; MUCHLY with the less favorable trip (TACTIC-, SLOG, WIDE) ran just as well (B- Op#xGRADE) no6ng those two finished together in a photo for show. #1 HOLLYWOOD GIRL will return from the 100-day layoff, figures a legit fit right back at this level and should find the pace scenario (Sun/SpeedRate) in her favor. She is posi6oned in Quad IV, though not a very deep Quad IV posi6on almost toeing the Quad II line. That looks favorable in this race shape and in terms of form, her most recent start back in May a good B- Op#xGRADE in that 6 th place finish no6ng the WIDE MOVE as well as running slightly against the profile with the top two finishers both forwardly placed throughout. #2 AUNT LUBIE also in Quad IV though has been soQ at this allowance level in her Op#xGRADES. That class level also a concern for others such as #3 PRIMA VALENTINA one that has recorded a consistent string of C+ Op#xGRADES at this condi6on. #9 SASSYSERB earned a B Op#xGRADE for her win on July 25 th though take a big step up in class from that race here with her Op#xFIG to date well under RANGE. Some upside is suggested with #5 SICILIA given the Prep Keyword last out though needs a move forward from the C+ Op#xGRADE last out and finds a higher OFR today. While improvement is expected, she could s6ll be a race away. Similar in terms of upside for #6 KOOKIE GAL with the SHORTER? Projec#on as well as the TACTIC- in her July 25 th race.
