Unprecedented any where in USA (1995) DAAC brings community together under one group. EPA temporarily relocates 17 families; DDT removal process begins. (1994) Del Amo Action Committee was formed by residents to educate our Community. (1996 1999) Environmental/Occupational Health Clinic established (1st of its kind in the nation) DAAC continues to oversee agency efforts in the neighborhood 204 th buyout discussions begin, followed by test appraisals for the 10 acre buyout area. (1999 2001) Demolition and cleanup of land. 10 acres slated to be a community park and center. (1998 1999) ATSDR Chicken EGG study proves chickens and eggs in the community are contaminated with DDT from the Montrose Chemical site. (2001) Kenwood Clean-Up DAAC advocates for remediation of 25 homes instead of 12 proposed. EPA agrees and a DDT remediation level is set at 10 ppm a more protective clean up number. (1997) Community relocation resource center opens on 204 th St. (1994) DAAC’s efforts to get agencies to investigate contamination concerns are achieved. A sampling plan is worked out with DAAC input. Sampling begins.
