VOLUME I

PARISH OF ALBY WITH THWAITE

Footpath No. 1 (Middle Hill to Aldborough Mill). Starts from Middle Hill and runs north

westwards to Aldborough Hill at parish boundary where it joins Footpath No. 12 of

Aldborough.

Footpath No. 2 (Alby Hill to All Saints' Church). Starts from Alby Hill and runs

southwards to enter road opposite All Saints' Church.

Footpath No. 3 (Dovehouse Lane to Footpath 13). Starts from Alby Hill and runs

northwards, then turning eastwards, crosses Footpath No. 5 then again northwards,

and continuing north-eastwards to field gate. Path continues from field gate in a south-

easterly direction crossing the end Footpath No. 4 and U14440 continuing until it meets

Footpath No.13 at TG 20567/34065.

Footpath No. 4 (Park Farm to Sunday School). Starts from Park Farm and runs south

westwards to Footpath No. 3 and U14440.

Footpath No. 5 (Pack Lane). Starts from the C288 at TG 20237/33581 going in a

northerly direction parallel and to the eastern boundary of the cemetery for a distance

of approximately 11 metres to TG 20236/33589. Continuing in a westerly direction

following the existing path for approximately 34 metres to TG 20201/33589 at the

western boundary of the cemetery. Continuing in a generally northerly direction

parallel to the western boundary of the cemetery for approximately 23 metres to the

field boundary at TG 20206/33611. Continuing in a westerly direction parallel to and

to the northern side of the field boundary for a distance of approximately 153 metres

to exit onto the U440 road at TG 20054/33633. The footpath up to this point is at a

width of 2 metres. Proceed along the edge of the carriageway in a north north-easterly

direction for approximately 45 metres until reaching Pack lane. Turn north westwards

into pack Lane and continue to join Footpath No. 3 in Alby Hill.

Footpath No 6 (Thwaite Common) Starts at Thwaite Common and runs in a north

westerly direction at a width of 2 metres through a copse of young trees before

continuing at a width of 1 metre across the open arable field for approximately 440

metres to TG 20226/32828. From this point onwards the path is 3 metres wide and it

turns and continues along the track in a north north-easterly direction to exit onto the

U4398 road at TG 20300/33536. June 2001

Footpath No. 7 (All Saint's Church to Goose Lane). Starts from stile by All Saints'

Church and runs south eastwards to enter Goose Lane by stile.

Footpath No. 8 (Middle Hill to Somerton Hall). Starts from fieldgate near Middle Hill

and runs south westwards to fence where it turns south eastwards to Somerton Hall.

Barbed wire before Somerton Hall. Path continues past Somerton Hall to enter Hall

Road.

Footpath No. 9._ (Thwaite Common Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from Thwaite

Common Road and runs south westwards across Thwaite Common to Parish

Boundary where it joins Erpingham Footpath No. 6.

Bridleway No. 10 (Alby Horse shoes Public House to Parish Boundary). Starts from

Horse Shoes Public House and runs westwards to Parish Boundary to join Erpingham

Bridleway No. 7.

Footpath No. 11 (Low Common to Heath Plantation). Starts from road north of Low

Common and runs northwards to field gate by Heath Plantation at parish boundary.

Footpath No. 12 (Dolphin Lane). Starts from parish boundary by Buck Brigg and runs

south westwards to Erpingham parish boundary.

Footpath No. 13 (C288 to Hanworth Footpath No. 3) Starts at the C288 road at

TG2058/3377 and proceeds in a northerly direction parallel to and to the western side

of the field boundary bank for a distance of 216 metres until it meets the west end of

Hanworth Footpath No. 5 then continuing in a northerly direction for a distance of

approximately 76 metres to TG2058/3406. The path continues in a generally northerly

direction parallel and to the western side of the field boundary hedge for a distance of

approximately 350 metres at TG2061/3440. The path then proceeds in a westerly

direction following the existing track between hedgerows for a distance of

approximately 342 metres to its junction with Hanworth Footpath No. 3 and Alby

Footpath No. 4.

PARISH OF ALDBOROUGH

Footpath No. 1 (Aldborough/Matlaske Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from

Aldborough/Matlaske Road east of Brick Field and runs southwards to parish

boundary, where it joins Wickmere Footpath No. 14.

Footpath No. 2 (Neal's Loke to Parish Boundary). Starts from Aldborough/Matlaske

Road by Neal's Loke and runs south westwards to stile at parish boundary, and joins

Wickmere Footpath No. 5.

Footpath No. 3 (Hall Road to Thurgarton Road). Starts from Hall Road and runs in

a south-easterly direction along the headland adjacent to Hall Road for

approximately 510 metres to Thurgarton Road. This path at a width of 1.5 metres.

Bridleway No. 4 (Black Boys Inn to Thurgarton Road). Starts from Black Boys Inn

opposite Aldborough Green and runs westwards to enter Thurgarton Road. (Part of

Bridleway now taken into U14518 Margaret Lily Way).

Footpath No. 5 (Aldborough Green to Thurgarton Council Houses). Starts from north

side of Aldborough Green at kissing gate and runs northwards over footbridge and

stile and enters the Thurgarton/Alby Hill Road by stile.

Bridleway No. 6 (Malthouse Lane). Starts from Thurgarton Lodge and runs northwards

along Malthouse Lane to enter Ringbank Lane.

Footpath No. 7 (Thurgarton/Alby Hill Road to Temperance Villas). Starts from

Thurgarton/Alby Hill Road at stile and runs north westwards to enter road near

Temperance Villas by stile.

Footpath No. 8 (St. Mary’s Church to Footpath No. 9). Starts from St. Mary’s Church

and runs northwards to meet Footpath No. 9. September 2000

Footpath No. 9 (Manor House to Thurgarton Road). Starts from Aldborough Road

near Manor House and runs westwards, crossing Footpath No. 8 and entering

Thurgarton Road near crossroads.

Footpath No. 11 (Rectory to Parish Boundary). Starts from kissing gate to Aldborough

Rectory and runs south westwards to stile at parish boundary where it joins Wickmere

Footpath No. 9.

Footpath No. 12 (Aldborough Road to Aldborough Hill). Starts from Aldborough Road

opposite Manor House and runs south eastwards to Aldborough Mill at parish

boundary.

Bridleway No. 13 (Bridleway No. 5 to Footpath No. 9). Starts at the western end of

Bridleway No. 4 and runs in a generally southerly direction for approximately 230

metres along the headland adjacent to Thurgarton Road to its junction with Footpath

No. 9. This path is at a width of 2 metres. September 2000

Restricted Byway No.14 Starts at the parish boundary at the north eastern end of

Sustead Restricted Byway No. 11 at grid reference TG 17390 36733 and runs in a

generally east north-easterly direction for 370 metres to the parish boundary where

the route meets Sustead Restricted Byway No. 12 at grid reference TG 17722 36874.

The route extends over the usable surface of the lane made up of a hardcore surfaced

track with a grass surface along the centre and has a width varying between 2.8 and

3.5 metres. November 2015

PARISH OF ANTINGHAM

Footpath No. 1 (Walpole Railway Crossing to pond Railway Crossing). Starts from

Walpole Railway Crossing and runs northwards alongside railway line to enter road

leading to Pond Railway Crossing.

Footpath No. 2 (Antingham/Southrepps Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from

Antingham/Southrepps Road opposite Smithy and runs eastwards to parish boundary

where it turns northwards and follows boundary for a distance before leaving the

Swafield boundary to end at the Southrepps boundary by Mill Common.

Footpath No. 3 (Southrepps Road to Antingham Hill). Starts from Southrepps Road

near St. Margaret's Church and runs south eastwards to Antingham Hill.

Footpath No. 4 (Antingham Hill to U4480). Starts from Antingham Hill and runs south

eastwards and then easterly to cross the railway line. From this point onwards the

path is at a width of 2 metres. It then runs from the stile at the field boundary at

TG26220/32339 in a south-easterly direction parallel to and to the north-easterly side

of the field boundary for a distance of approximately 120 metres. From this point

onwards the path is at a width of 4 metres. Continuing in a south-easterly direction

parallel to and to the north-easterly side of the field boundary for a distance of

approximately 74 metres to exit onto the U4480 road at TG26333/32182.

Bridleway No. 5 (Felmingham Road to Bradmoor Road). Starts from Felmingham

Road and runs eastwards to Bradmoor Road at parish boundary.

Footpath No.6 (The Hill) Starts at The Hill at the railway crossing gates on the eastern

side of the railway track at map reference TG2596 3280 and proceeds in a south-

westerly direction crossing the track to another railway gate to meet The Hill on the

western side of the track at map reference TG2596 3280. The length of the footpath

is 4.7 metres and the width is 5 metres. July 2014

PARISH OF ASHMANHAUGH

Footpath No. 1 (Crowgate Street to manor Farm). Starts from Crowgate Street and

runs eastwards to the south of Harris's Farm, bearing north eastwards then south

eastwards to the north east of St. Swithin's Church, and continuing to Manor Farm.

PARISH OF AYLMERTON

Footpath No. 1 (From Footpath No. 2 to Parish Boundary). Starts from Footpath No.

2 near Thorn Bush Dole and runs westwards to parish boundary where to join Beeston

Regis Bridleway No. 10.

Footpath No. 2 (Holt Road to Footpath No. 4). Starts from Holt Road near parish

boundary and runs north eastwards through Row Heath and crosses Footpath No. 3

near Leech Pits. The path then continues eastwards to join Footpath No. 4.

Footpath No. 3 (Holt Road to Leech Pits). Starts from Holt Road by Row Plantation

and runs north westwards to Leech Pits at parish boundary.

Footpath No. 4 (Holt Road to Swine Snout). Starts from Holt Road by Row Plantation

and runs north eastwards through Row Heath to parish boundary.

Footpath No. 5 (Aylmerton Church to Aylmerton Row). Starts from stile by Aylmerton

Church and runs north westwards over a further four stiles to end at stile near near

Aylmerton Row on the Holt Road.

Footpath No. 6 (Church Farm to Bennington’s Lane). Starts from the road opposite

Church Farm and runs westwards to map reference TM17090 39723. From this point

onwards the path is at a width of 2 metres. It then turns in a southerly direction along

the field edge for a distance of approximately 39 metres and continues in a north

westerly direction along the field edge for a distance of approximately 451 metres to

the junction with East Beckham Restricted Byway No. 8.

Footpath No. 8 (Aylmerton Lodge to Parish Boundary). Starts from Aylmerton Lodge

and runs north eastwards through Great Wood to parish boundary where it joins

Felbrigg Footpath No. 1.

Footpath No. 9 (Saw Mills to Roundwood Hill). Starts from stile on road near Saw Mills

and runs south eastwards to parish boundary at Roundwood Hill where it joins Felbrigg

Footpath No. 3.

Footpath No. 10 (Keepers Lodge to Parish Boundary). Starts from field gate by

Keepers Lodge and runs north eastwards through Common Plantation to stile. Path

then continues to parish boundary where it joins Footpath No. 4 of Felbrigg.

Footpath No. 11 (East Beckham/Melton Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from East

Beckham/Melton Road at junction and runs south westwards past Allotment Plantation

to parish boundary where it joins Restricted Byway No. 7 of Gresham.

Footpath No. 12 (Mill Lane). Strats at Aylmerton-Lower Gresham highway and runs

north westwards along parish boundary, passing East Beckham Restricted Byway No.

8 to finish approximately 180 yards east of East Beckham Footpath No. 4 on the

Gresham East Beckham Road.

PARISH OF BACONSTHORPE

Footpath No. 1 (Holt Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from Holt Road to the west of

the Smithy and runs northwards passing through a field gate and continuing to Hall

Lane. Path continues northwards past Baconsthorpe Hall, through a field gate by the

Moat, to field gate at parish boundary.

Footpath No. 2 (Footpath No. 3 to Baconsthorpe Wood). Starts from Footpath No. 3

and runs north easterly over a footbridge to Baconsthorpe Wood at the parish

boundary. September 2000

Footpath No. 3 (Breck Road to Baconsthorpe Hall). Starts from stile at beginning of

Breck Road and runs northwards to Lower Farm where it turns north westwards to

stile at Footpath No. 2 and continues to join Footpath No. 1 by Baconsthorpe Hall.

Footpath No. 4 (Blind Lane). Starts from Holt Road by White House and runs

northwards over a stile to TG 1227/3728. From this point onwards the path is at a

width of 1.5 metres and runs in a westerly direction for approximately 100 feet and

then in a northerly direction for approximately 500 feet and then in an easterly direction

for approximately 400 feet to TG 1236/3799. From this point on the path width is not

determined and the path runs north north-easterly to TG 1240/3757 where it junctions

with Footpath No. 16. September 2000

Bridleway No. 5 (Church Lane to Parish Boundary). Starts from Church Lane opposite

Bridleway No. 10 and runs north westwards to parish boundary.

Footpath No. 8 (Church Lane to Bridleway No. 10). Starts from Church Lane and runs

southwards to join Bridleway No. 10.

Footpath No. 9 (St. Mary's Church to Baconsthorpe/North Barningham Road). Starts

from St. Mary's Church and runs north eastwards then turns northwards and runs to

stile on Baconsthorpe/North Barningham Road.

Bridleway No. 10 (Church Lane to Plumstead Road). Starts from Church Lane at TG

1189/3692 and runs in a southerly direction for approximately 32 metres at a width of

3.5 metres. From this point onwards the width is undetermined and the path runs

south eastwards to Plumstead Road. September 2000

Footpath No. 11 (From Bridleway No. 10 to Edgefield Road). Starts from south side

of Bridleway No. 10 and runs southwards to join Edgefield Road by stile.

Footpath No. 12 (Bastard's Farm to Parish Boundary). Starts from road opposite

Bastard's Farm and runs south westwards to parish boundary where it joins Footpath

No. 1 of Plumstead.

Footpath No. 13 Footpath No. 12 south eastwards to Parish Boundary where it joins

Matlask Footpath No. 1.

Footpath No. 14 (Hall Lane). Starts at TG 1153/3722 off the Hempstead Road and

along Hall Lane in a northerly direction for approximately 350 metres to the junction of

the track leading to Becketts Farm and meeting with Footpath No. 15. This path is at

a width of 5 metres. September 2000

Footpath No. 15 (Becketts Farm to Footpath No. 1). Starts from Becketts Farm and

runs in a south-easterly direction for approximately 1500 feet to the junction with Hall

Lane and then in a north easterly direction for approximately 1100 feet to join Footpath

No. 1. The width of the path to be as measured between hedges. September 2000

Footpath No. 16 (Footpath No. 3 to Footpath No. 3). Starts at TG 1237/3788 and

runs in a southerly direction for approximately 1100 feet to TG 1240/3755 at the

northern end of Footpath No. 4. The path then runs in an easterly direction for

approximately 450 feet to junction with Footpath No. 3. This path is at a width of 1.5

metres. September 2000

PARISH OF BACTON

Footpath No. 1 (Walcott Road to Keswick Road). Starts from Walcott Road by a stile

and runs northwards to exit by a stile at Keswick Road.

Restricted Byway No. 2 (Back Lane). Starts from Keswick and runs north westwards

to Abbey Street.

Footpath No. 3 (Bacton Green to Church). Starts from Bacton Green by a kissing gate

and runs south westwards to the south of St. Andrew's Church.

Footpath No. 4 (Pollard Street to Parish Boundary). Starts from Pollard Street and

runs due south to the parish boundary where it joins Witton Footpath No. 10.

Footpath No. 5 (Storeys Farm to Parish Boundary). Starts from Storeys Farm and

runs due south to the parish boundary where it joins Witton Footpath No. 9.

Footpath No. 6 (Bacton Road to Edingthorpe Church). Starts from Bacton Road and

runs northwards to the south eastern corner of All Saints Church.

Footpath No 7 (Edingthorpe Church to Parish Boundary) Starts to the south west of

All Saints Church and runs westwards, then north westwards to TG31973332. From

this point onwards the path is at width of 1.5 metres and runs in a westerly direction

from the earth bridge over the ditch and gap in the field boundary bank for

approximately 153 metres following mainly along the field edge parallel to and to the

north of the field boundary bank and ditch to end where it joins Paston Footpath No 9.

Restricted Byway No. 8 (Stable Lane). Starts from Boundary Lane and runs eastwards

to Stone Corner.

Restricted Byway No. 9 (Boundary Lane). Starts at the north west corner of the Parish

and runs southwards along the parish boundary to join Paston Restricted Byway No.

7.

Footpath No. 10 (Clay Lane to Parish Boundary). Starts from the Edingthorpe Green

- Stone Corner road near the west end of Clay Lane and runs westwards to the parish

boundary where it joins Paston Footpath No. 8.

Footpath No. 11 (Edingthorpe - Honing Road to bacton Wood Mill Road). Starts from

the Edingthorpe - Honing Road near Wood Cottages and runs westwards, then north

westwards to Bacton Wood Mill Road.

Footpath No. 12 (The Groves). Starts from the North Walsham Road and runs

northwards to Bacton Road near Edingthorpe Council Houses.

Bridleway No. 13 (Bacton Wood Mill Road to the Parish Boundary). Starts from Bacton

Wood Mill Road north west of Bacton Wood Mill Farm and runs south eastwards to

the parish boundary where it joins Witton Bridleway No. 14 and Footpath No. 15.

Footpath No. 14 (B.1159 to the Beach). Starts from B.1159 east of the school and

runs northwards along western boundary of O.S. 54 to finish at Beach east of Holiday

Camp.

Footpath No. 15 (Coast Road to Mill Lane ) Starts from Coast Road (B1159) opposite

No. 7 adjacent to the village store and coincident with the vehicular entrance to the

Coast Road Chalet Estate. The path follows the line of a service track in a mainly

east-north-easterly direction, to exit onto Mill Lane. The width of the path is not less

than 3 metres and the overall length is approximately 180 metres. February 2004.

PARISH OF BARSHAM

Footpath No. 1 (Norwich Road to Patch Lane). Starts by a fieldgate from the Norwich

- Wells Road about 200 yards south of the junction of Patch Lane, and runs in a north

westerly direction across a field, where there is a gap in the hedge, and then on to the

railway line the boundary fences of which are crossed by stiles. The path then

continues over the river by a footbridge to Patch Lane.

Footpath No. 2 (C323 to Parish Boundary) Starts from the junction with the west side

of C323 Fakenham to Wells Road, in the Parish of Barsham, and runs westwards to

the parish boundary to join with South Creake Footpath No.11

PARISH OF BARTON TURF

Bridleway No. 1 (Berry Hall Farm to Parish Boundary). Starts from Berry Hall Farm

Road west of Berry Hall and runs northwards to the parish boundary where it joins

Smallburgh Bridleway No. 4.

Footpath No. 2 (Pennygate to Parish Boundary). Starts from Pennygate and runs

northwards to the parish boundary where it joins Smallburgh Footpath No. 5.

Footpath No. 3 (School Road to Pennygate). Starts from School Road and runs

northwards to Pennygate.

Footpath No. 4 (Pennygate Road to Smallburgh Road). Starts from near the southern

end of Pennygate Road and runs north westwards to exit by a bridlegate at Smallburgh

Road.

Footpath No. 5 (School Road to Neatishead - Smallburgh Road). Starts from School

Road west of Footpath No. 3 and runs south westwards, west of St. Michael's Church,

to exit by a kissing gate at the Neatishead - Smallburgh Road.

Footpath No. 7 (Rectory Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from the road south of the

Rectory and runs westwards to the parish boundary to join Neatishead Footpath No.

19.

Footpath No. 8 (Rectory Road to Church Road). Starts from the road south of the

Rectory and runs south eastwards to join the road leading to St. Michael's Church.

Footpath No. 9 (Irstead Street to Parish Boundary). Starts from south of Irstead Street

at the parish boundary and follows the boundary southwards to join Horning Footpath

No. 13.

Footpath No. 10 (Irstead Street to Parish Boundary). Starts from south of Irstead

Street and runs westwards south of Alderfen Broad to the parish boundary where it

joins Neatishead Footpath No. 2.

Byway Open to All Traffic No. 11 Starts from a bend (TG3552/2307) on Berry Hall

Road some 150 metres south-east of Berry Hall Farm and leads between field bank

and fen in an east-north-easterly direction for approximately 125 metres at a width of

5.5 metres. From this point (TG 3563/2313) the path turns to run in a northerly

direction for approximately 350 metres at an average width of 3.2 metres between a

raised bank and higher ground to the west and arable land, at the same level as the

track, to the east. The path bends to the north north-west (TG 3563/2350) and

continues for another 215 metres at an average width of 2.4 metres between wooded

fen and arable field to end (TG 3557/2369) in an area know as Barton Fen.

The surface throughout is mainly earth and grass. April 2002

PARISH OF BEESTON REGIS

Footpath No. 1 (Cliff Walk). Starts from Sheringham U.D. Boundary and runs

eastwards to the gully near Old Brick Kiln.

Footpath No. 2 (West Runton/Sheringham Road to Church). Starts from West

Runton/Sheringham Road opposite the Grove and runs northwards, crossing railway

line, to All Saints' Church.

Restricted Byway No. 3 (Sheringham/West Runton Road to Sunday School). Starts

from Sheringham/West Runton Road near U.D. Boundary and runs northwards past

Abbey Farm and then turns north westwards to Sunday School on U.D. Boundary.

Restricted Byway No. 4 (Beeston hall to Calves' Well Lane). Starts from Sheringham

Road by Beeston Regis Hall and runs southwards to Calves' Well Lane at Woodside.

Restricted Byway No. 5 (Calves' Well Lane to Restricted Byway No. 4). Starts from

calves' Well Lane and runs northwards to join Restricted Byway No. 4.

Restricted Byway No. 6 (Brinton's Lane 'Clova' to Parish Boundary). Starts from

Brinton's Lane 'Clova' and runs north eastwards alongside Beeston Regis Heath to

Woodside where it turns eastwards and continues along Calves' Well Lane to parish

boundary where it joins Runton Restricted Byway No. 13.

Bridleway No. 7 (Brinton's Lane to Bridleway No. 11). Starts from Brinton's Lane and

runs south eastwards and south eastwards to join Public Bridleway No. 11.

Bridleway No. 7(a) (Public Bridleway to No. 10 to Parish Boundary). Starts from public

bridleway No. 10 and runs eastwards across Beeston Regis Heath to the Beeston

Regis/Runton parish boundary, where it joins Restricted Byway No. 17, Runton.

Bridleway No. 8 (From Bridleway No. 11 to Restricted Byway No. 6). Starts from

Public bridleway No. 11 and runs north eastwards to join Public Bridleway No. 9, then

northwards to join Restricted Byway No. 6.

Bridleway No. 9 (From Public Bridleway No. 11 to Public Bridleway No. 8). Starts from

Bridleway No. 11 and runs northwards to join Public Bridleway No. 8.

Bridleway No. 10 (Restricted Byway No. 6 (Woodside) to Leech Pits). Starts from

Restricted Byway No. 6, at the property known as Woodside, and runs south

westwards across Beeston Regis Heath to Leech Pits, continuing to Thorn Bush Dole,

from whence it runs in a southerly direction, and then in a westerly direction past

Thorn Bush Farm to join Britons Lane. The bridleway has a width of approximately 2

metres.

Bridleway No. 11 (Brinton's Lane to Public Bridleway No. 10). Starts from Britons

Lane and runs south eastwards, north eastwards, south eastwards, north eastwards,

south eastwards and north eastwards in a zig zag pattern, then turns eastwards joining

Public Bridleways Nos. 8 and 9, then continues eastwards and south eastwards to join

Public Bridleway No. 10. The bridleway has a ditch of approximately 2 metres.

Footpath No. 12 (Calves' Well Lane to Parish Boundary). Starts from Calves' Well

Lane and runs south eastwards to parish boundary where it joins Runton Restricted

Byway No. 17.

Footpath No. 13 (Brinton's Lane to Sheringham Boundary). Starts from Brinton's Lane

and runs westwards to parish boundary.

Footpath No. 14 (Public Bridleway No. 10 to Parish Boundary). Starts from Public

Bridleway No. 10 and runs eastwards to the parish boundary.

Restricted Byway No. 15 (Bennington's Lane). Starts from Holt Road and runs

southwards along parish boundary to join East Beckham Restricted Byway No. 8.

Footpath No. 16 (Sheringham Road to U.D. Boundary). Starts from Sheringham Road

near Blacksmith's Plantation and runs northwards to railway line where it turns

westwards and runs alongside line to U.D. Boundary.

Footpath No. 17 (Railway Bridge to U.D. Boundary). Starts from foot of railwaybridge

Footpath No. 19 (Beeston Regis Lodge to U.D. Boundary). Starts near Beeston Regis

Lodge and runs northwards then turns westwards, finally northwards again to finish at

U.D. Boundary.

Bridleway No. 21 Starts at the old A149 Cromer-Sheringham Road from a point

approximately 46 metres east of the entrance to Beeston Regis Rectory for a

distance of approximately 174 metres eastwards to a point approximately 23 metres

west of the main entrance to Beeston Regis Hall.

PARISH OF BINHAM

Footpath No. 1 (Hall Lane and Lousybush Lane). Starts from Walsingham Road and

runs north westwards along Hall Lane and Lousybush Lane to the Wighton Road.

Footpath No 2 (Haystack Lane) Starts from the Stiffkey Road, west of Halfway

House and runs in a westerly direction to TF 96564087. The path then turns to run

in a south westerly direction for approximately 140 metres to the Warham Road.

Road, at the junction of Common Lane, and runs southwards to Bright's Drift and then

westwards.

Footpath No. 4 (The Buttlands). Starts from the Binham - Westgate Road near the

Smithy and runs southwards to Walsingham Road.

Footpath No. 5 (Langham Road to Binham - Westgate Road). Starts from the junction

of the Langham Road and Stiffkey Road, and runs westwards past Holy Cross Church

to the Binham - Westgate Road.

Footpath No. 6 (Stiffkey Road to Cockthorpe Road). Starts from the Stiffkey Road

near Long Plantation and runs northwards to Cockthorpe Road.

Footpath No. 7 (Cockthorpe Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from Cockthorpe Road

and runs northwards across Cockthorpe Common to the parish boundary where it joins

Stiffkey Footpath No. 4.

Footpath No. 8 (Cockthorpe Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from Cockthorpe Road

near Lower Farm and runs north eastwards, then northwards for a distance and

eastwards again to the parish boundary where it joins Morston Footpath No. 10.

Footpath No. 9 (Binham - Westgate Road to Parish Church). Starts from the Binham

- Westgate Road, opposite the northern end of Footpath No. 4 and runs north

westwards to join Footpath No. 5 at Holy Cross Church.

Restricted Byway No. 10(a) (The Green) - Starts from the northern boundary of The

Green at map reference TF 9836 3960 and runs in a generally southerly direction for

approximately 50 metres to the Field Dalling Road at map reference TF 9837 3955.

The width of the first 22 metres is 1.5 metres and the width of the remaining 28 metres

Restricted Byway No. 10(b) (The Green) Starts at Front Street at map reference TF

9832 3956 and runs in a generally easterly direction for 40 metres to map reference

eastern end of Cockthorpe Road and runs south eastwards to join the Langham Road

at the parish boundary.

Footpath No. 2 (The Quay to Parish Boundary). Starts from The Quay and runs

westwards, north of Red House and along Sea Bank to parish boundary where it joins

Morston Footpath No. 3.

Footpath No. 3 (Morston - Blakeney Road to Footpath No. 2). Starts from the Morston

- Blakeney Road, east of the Mission Room, and runs northwards to join Footpath No.

2.

Bridleway No. 5 (Langham Road to Saxlingham Road). Starts from Langham Road,

and runs south eastwards past New Barn and along the western boundary of The

Downs to join the Saxlingham Road south of gravel pit.

Footpath No. 6 (Saxlingham Road to Langham Road). Starts from Saxlingham Road,

100 yards south of the junction of New Road, and runs westwards along drive to the

cottage "The Butts" and continuing to a stile on the Langham Road.

Bridleway No. 7 (Little Lane). Starts from Saxlingham Road, north of the junction of

New Road, and runs eastwards to High Street.

Footpath No. 9 (High Street to Footpath No. 10). Starts from High Street north of

British Legion grounds and runs eastwards, then southwards for 100 yards to join

Footpath No. 10.

Footpath No. 10 (High Street to Back Lane). Starts from the High Street and runs

eastwards along the south side of the British Legion Hall to Back Lane.

Footpath No. 11 (Mariner's Hill). Starts from the High Street and runs eastwards along

north side of houses over Mariner's Hill to north gate of Manor Hotel gardens.

Footpath No. 14 (Quay Corner to Mud Banks). Starts from the Quay Corner, north of

the High Street, and runs northwards along the eastern bank of the New Cut to the

mud banks.

Footpath No. 15 (East Bank). Starts north of Mariner's Hill and runs northwards along

East Bank to the saltings, then bears eastwards, crossing Restricted Byway No. 16 to

the parish boundary.

Restricted Byway No. 16 (Manor Hotel to Mud Banks). Starts by field gate opposite

Manor Hotel and runs northwards across marshes and saltings to mud banks near

Cley Channel.

Footpath No. 17 (Blakeney Road to Langham Road - B1388) Starts from the north-

west corner of a disused quarry adjacent to the A149, curving south-eastwards round

a hill for 200 metres, then south by an ancient hedgerow for 220 metres, and south-

east to Kettlehill Plantation for 240 metres. The path continues first south then roughly

east round the southern end of the plantation for another 170 metres, then north along

the track to TG 0206/4330. From this point on the path is at a width of 3 metres and

runs in a northerly direction along the field edge track which runs parallel to and to the

east of the garden fence belonging to the property known as Kettle Hill for

approximately 64 metres. From this point onwards the path width is not defined and

the path runs south-east down the access drive to the B1388 Langham Road.

Footpath No. 18 (Wiveton Road to Saxlingham Road) Starts at the Wiveton Road at

map reference TG0323 4350 and runs in a west south-westerly direction through the

gated entrance of a property known as the Old Rectory for a distance of 130 metres

to a field gate at map reference TG0311 4347. The route then continues in the same

direction for a further 120 metres and passes through a gateway to meet with the

Saxlingham Road at map reference TG0300 4342. The path has a width of 2.7 metres

throughout and the surface of the path is hardened earth. Limitation: Field gate at

3 in Long Belt and runs westwards to the parish boundary and then follows the

boundary south westwards to join Kelling Footpath No. 9.

Footpath No. 3 (Holt/Cromer Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from Holt/Cromer

Road and runs northwards to parish boundary at Long Belt where it joins Weybourne

Footpath No. 5.

Footpath No. 4 (Weybourne Road to Footpath No. 3). Starts from Weybourne Road

and runs westwards to join Footpath No.3.

Footpath No. 5 (Manor House to School). Starts from Manor House and runs

eastwards and then turns northwards and continues past allotments to join

Footpath No. 7 (All Saints Church to baconsthorpe Wood). Starts from All Saints

Church and runs southwards to Baconsthorpe Wood at parish boundary.

Footpath No. 8 (Lower Bodham Road to New Road). Starts from Lower Bodham Road

and runs southwards past Bodham Farm and then bears south eastwards to enter

New Road.

Footpath No. 9 (From Footpath No. 12 Gresham to Footpath No. 6 of West Beckham).

Starts from parish boundary where Footpath No. 12 of Gresham ends and runs

northwards along parish boundary to join West Beckham Footpath No. 6.

PARISH OF BRININGHAM

Footpath No. 1 (Mill Lane to Melton - Fakenham Road). Starts from Mill Lane west of

Mill Plantation and runs southwards past Bellevue and west of Oakhills Plantation to

the railway line where there are kissing gates and field gates. The path continues

southwards to join the Melton - Fakenham Road opposite the north eastern corner of

Old Limekiln Plantation.

Bridleway No. 2 (Mill Lane)._ Starts from the Dereham - Holt Road, north eastwards

of Bellevue Farm, and runs eastwards to the northern end of Footpath No. 1 and Mill

Plantation, and then bears in a north easterly direction to the railway line and follows

the western boundary of the railway to the Melton - Brinton Road at the railway

crossing gates.

Bridleway No. 4 (Continuation of Heath Road, Gunthorpe). Starts from Gunthorpe

Bridleway No. 6 (Heath Road) at the parish boundary and runs eastwards close to the

parish boundary to the road.

Footpath No 5 (Dereham Road to Dereham Road) The path starts at map reference

TG 0351 3436 and runs at a width of 3.5 metres along a concrete road in a generally

north north-easterly direction for 47.5 metres before turning north-easterly where it

continues for a further 45 metres along the 3.5 metre wide concrete road. The path

then narrows to 2 metres and follows the northern edge of the farmyard for

approximately 44 metres to map reference TG 0360 3445 and then still at a width of 2

metres turns to run in a south south-easterly direction for 58 metres to meet the

highway at map reference TG 0363 3439. November 2008

Footpath No. 1 (Thornage Road to Gravel Pit). Starts from the Thornage - Brinton

Road, north east of the junction with the Holt - Dereham Road, and runs south

westwards to the Old Gravel Pit.

Footpath No. 2 (Fakenham Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from the Fakenham -

Holt Road, east of the Swan Public House, and runs north westwards to the parish

boundary where it joins Field Dalling Footpath No. 5.

Footpath No. 4 (Hall Lane to Asp Yard). Starts from Hall Lane, north eastwards of Hall

Farm, and runs north westwards to the southern end of Asp Yard.

Footpath No. 5 (Brinton - Thornage Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from the Brinton

- Thornage Road, immediately east of The Grange, and runs north eastwards crossing

stream by a footbridge and ending at the parish boundary.

PARISH OF BRISTON

Footpath No. 1 (Corpusty Road to Green Lane). Starts from the Corpusty Road by a

field gate opposite "Fir Patch" and runs eastwards, turning sharp left and running north

eastwards over cart road to join Green Lane (Restricted Byway No. 10) at a field gate.

Footpath No. 2 (Green Lane to Edgefield Road). Starts from Green Lane (Restricted

Byway 10), just north of White Ollands Farm, and runs north westwards to join

Edgefield Road by a stile.

Footpath No. 3 (Corpusty Road to Footpath No. 4). Starts from the Corpusty Road,

by a stile opposite Oaks Farm entrance, and runs south westwards to join Footpath

No. 4 by a stile.

Footpath No. 4 (Corpusty Road to Tithe Barn Lane). Starts from the Corpusty Road

by a field gate immediately south of "Fir Patch", and runs along the southern boundary

of "Fir Patch", continuing westwards to the junction of Tithe Barn Lane.

Restricted Byway No. 5 (Corpusty Road to Green Lane). Starts from the Corpusty

Road, by a stile nearly opposite the northern end of Footpath No. 3 and runs

northwards passing to the west of White Ollands Farm to join Green Lane Restricted

Byway No. 10.

Footpath No. 6 (Ridlands Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from Ridlands Road west

of the railway and runs southwards, bearing westwards and then south westwards to

the parish boundary where it joins Melton Constable Footpath No. 6.

Footpath No 7 (Craymere Road to Reepham Road). Starts from Craymere Road east

of Factory House and runs eastwards to TG 06213134. From this point onwards the

path is at a width of 1.5 metres and turns to run south easterly for 76 metres to TG

06283129 at the southern corner of OS 2634. The path then turns to run north easterly

for 54 metres to the northern corner of OS 3330 and then turns south easterly to run

for 38 metres to the south east edge of the pond. From here the path runs in an east

south easterly direction for 68 metres and then turns to run north easterly for 187

metres then northwards through a hedge, where it turns north easterly again for 33

metres to a wooden storage building. From this point onwards the width of the path is

not defined. The path continues in a north easterly direction for a further 36 metres to

No. 5). Starts from Melton Constable Footpath No. 3 at the south western boundary of

the parish and runs south eastwards to the parish boundary where it joins Melton

Restricted Byway No. 10 (Green Lane). Starts from Edgefield Road and runs

southwards to join Restricted Byway No. 5 just north of White Ollands Farm. The path

then runs eastwards to the parish boundary.

Footpath No. 11 (Tan Office Farm to road leading to Limetree Farm, Thurning -

U14189 to U14159). Starts from Tan Office Farm Road by a field gate and runs

southwards past "Growl Abbey" cottage over the railway line to the road leading to

Limetree Farm, Thurning.

Footpath No. 12 (Farm Restricted Byway No. 13 to Parish Boundary). Starts from the

south eastern end of Restricted Byway No. 13 at The Oaks and runs south westwards

to the parish Boundary where it joins Thurning Footpath No. 1.

Restricted Byway No. 13 (Hellpit Lane to The Oaks - U14189 to Footpath No. 12).

Starts from Hellpit Lane, north of Long Plantation and runs south eastwards to join

Footpath No. 12 at The Oaks.

Footpath No. 14 (Hall Street to Recreation Ground - C267 to No Pub Road). Starts

from Hall Street between the properties numbered 81 and 83 and runs eastwards to

Recreation Ground.

Footpath No. 15 (Craymere Beck Road to Footpath No. 6). A footpath approximately

1.5 metres wide commencing at a field access (grid ref. TG 0629/3154) on the north

side of Craymere Beck Road opposite the property known as "Rosslyn" running north

west along the north side of the field boundary for 198 metres to join Footpath No. 6

at grid reference TG 06 13/3166.

Footpath No. 16 (Briston : The Lanes to Stone Beck Lane). A footpath averaging 3

metres wide commencing at The Lanes (UC 14179) at grid reference TG 0598/3275

running south over a metalled track known as Gloucester Place and then over an

unsurfaced track to join Stone Beck Lane (UC 14174) at grid reference TG002/3224

near its junction with Redlands Road (UC4184) at the south west corner of the playing

field being a distance of 540 metres.

Footpath No. 17 (Briston : Park Lane). A footpath known as Park Lane, unsurfaced

and averaging 1.5 metres wide commencing at Stone Beck Lane (UC 14174) at Grid

Reference TG0577/3246 running North for 28 metres then easterly for 266 metres to

join the footpath running between The Lanes (UC 14179) and Stone Beck Lane (UC

14174) at Grid Reference TGO577/3252.

Bridleway No. 18 (Small Hopes Farm to parish boundary). Runs from grid ref TG 0855

3057 at a bridlegate and continues in a generally southerly direction to grid reference

TG 0855 3051 at the Parish boundary. This section of the bridleway is 60 metres in

PARISH OF CATFIELD

Footpath No. 1 (Footpath No. 3 to All Saints Church). Starts at Footpath No. 3 at TG

3808/2106 and runs in a north easterly direction for approximately 90 metres and then

north-westerly adjacent to a field boundary for approximately 140 metres at a width of

1.5 metres. From this point onwards the width is not determined and the path turns to

Footpath No. 2 (Footpath No. 3 to Miles Loke). Starts from the southern end of

Footpath No. 3 at TG 3816/2082 and follows a track running west south-westerly to

TG 3810/2079 and then south south-easterly to TG 3813/2069 and then turns to run

south-westerly to TG 3803/2065 at a width of 1.5 metres. From this point onwards the

path width is not determined and the path turns to run in a generally southerly direction

No. 2 and runs north north-westwards to join the public highway east of Catfield Hall.

southwards then westwards to the south west corner of the farm buildings belonging

to Wood Street Farm. From this point on the path is at a width of 1 metre and turns to

of the field boundary bank. From this point on the path is at a width of 1.5 metres and

runs south-westerly parallel to and to the west of the field boundary bank for

Footpath No. 6 (Back Lane to The Street). Starts from the north end of Back Lane

and runs eastwards to The Street, Catfield.

Footpath No. 7 (Sand Holes Footpath). Starts from The Street, Catfield, and runs

north eastwards to New Road.

Footpath No. 9 (Council House Greenway to Sharp Street). Starts from the north

western corner of Council House Greenway and runs south westwards, east of

Fenside Farm, to Sharp Street.

Footpath No. 10 (Council House Greenway to Sharp Street). Starts from Council

House Greenway, almost opposite Footpath No. 3 and runs southwards to Sharp

Street.

Footpath No. 11 (Miles Loke). Starts at the junction of Elderbush Lane and Ludham

Road and runs in a generally westerly direction for approximately 740 metres until it

reaches the eastern end of Footpath No. 9. The width varies along its entire length.

Footpath No. 12 (Footpath No. 2 to Miles Loke). Starts from Footpath No. 2 at TG

3814/2069 and runs through a gap in the hedge in an easterly direction parallel to and

to the north of the field boundary bank for a distance of approximately 7 metres and

then turns to run in a southerly direction parallel to and to the east of the field boundary

bank for approximately 147 metres to junction with Miles Loke. This path is at a width

Footpath No. 1 (Sheringham Road to the beach). Starts from the Sheringham Road

and runs northwards to the beach.

Footpath No. 3 (Cley Marsh Bank). This path starts from Beach Road and runs south

westwards to join Footpath No. 4. The path then turns south eastwards to enter The

Street opposite the northern end of Footpath No. 6.

Footpath No. 4 (Footpath No. 3 to Parish Boundary). Starts from Footpath No. 3 and

runs south westwards and then turns southwards to the rear of the Town Hall buildings

to the Blakeney Road. The path then runs westwards parallel to the Blakeney road to

the parish boundary.

Footpath No. 5 (Footpath No. 4 to The Street). Starts from Footpath No. 4 and runs

south eastwards to enter The Street.

Footpath No. 6 (Stangrooves Loke). Starts from The Street opposite the southern end

of Footpath No. 3 and runs south south-eastwards to enter Church Lane west of Cley

Hall.

Footpath No. 7 (A149 Coast Road to Church Lane). Starts from A149 Coast Road,

and runs in a mainly south easterly direction to Cley County Primary School. The path

then turns north eastwards for a short distance and then south eastwards again to

enter Church Lane.

Footpath No. 8 (Post Office Lane). Starts from The Street and runs east north

eastwards to enter Church Lane.

Footpath No. 9 (Alongside Town Hall). This path starts from The Street and runs south

westwards along the northern side of the Town Hall buildings to join Footpath No. 4.

Footpath No. 10 (Alongside Town Hall). Starts from The Street and runs south

westwards along the southern side of the Town Hall buildings to join Footpath No. 4.

Footpath No. 11 (Blakeney Road to Spring). This is a short stretch of path running

southwards from the Blakeney Road to the Spring.

Footpath No. 12 (The Street to Footpath No. 4). This path starts from The Street by

Berrington House and runs westwards to join Footpath No. 4.

Footpath No. 13 (Taylors Loke). Starts from The Street and runs east north eastwards

to enter Church Lane.

Footpath No. 14 (Main Road to Footpath No. 16). Starts from the main coast road

east of Old Hall and runs southwards then south eastwards to join Footpath No. 16.

Footpath No. 15 (Main Road to Footpath No. 16) Starts from the main coast road and

runs southwards and then south eastwards to join Footpath No. 16.

Footpath No. 16 (Main Road to Footpath No. 14). Starts from the main coast road and

runs westwards to join the south western end of Footpath No. 15 and continues

westwards to join the south western end of Footpath No. 14.

Footpath No. 18 (Church Lane to Letheringsett Road). Starts from Church Lane and

runs south south-westwards bearing south westwards through St. Margarets

Churchyard to enter the Letheringsett Road near the Swallow P.H.

Footpath No. 19 (Cley Green). This is a short path running south south-westwards

across Cley Green from the Kelling Road to Letheringsett Road.

Footpath No. 20 (Wymerhill Lane). Starts from the Kelling Road and runs southwards

to enter Bridgefoot Lane opposite the northern end of Footpath No. 21.

Footpath No. 21 (Bridgefoot Lane to Holt Road). Starts from Bridgefoot Lane opposite

the southern end of Footpath No. 20 and runs southwards to enter Hurdle Lane at the

parish boundary. The path then continues eastwards along this lane, to enter the Holt

Road nearly opposite Swan Lodge.

Footpath No. 22 (Kelling Road to Bridgefoot Lane). This is a short footpath running

south eastwards from the Kelling Road to enter Bridgefoot Lane.

Footpath No. 23 (Footpath No. 15, Blakeney to Footpath No. 5 Wiveton). Starts at

Footpath No. 15 at its junction with the parish boundary, and runs along the crest of

the sea bank in a generally north easterly direction then east south-east for a distance

of approximately 1200 metres where it turns south south east along the grassland and

then along the crest of the Sea Defence Bank until it reaches the parish boundary with

the Parish of Wiveton and runs along the boundary as far as its junction with Footpath

No. 5 in the Parish of Wiveton, a distance of approximately 745 metres.

Footpath No. 24 (Footpath No. 3 to Footpath No. 16 Salhouse). Starts at Footpath

No. 3 and runs along the crest of the Sea Defence Bank next to the County highway

U14284 in a generally north north westerly direction as far as the floodgate where it

turns north north east for a distance of approximately 870 metres, then leaving the

bank and crossing the road turns in a generally easterly direction - skirting on the south

side of the Half Moon Pit then along the shingle bank to the north of the Pill Box Shelter,

continuing in a mainly easterly direction along the foot of the shingle bank to the marsh

wall at its junction with Footpath No. 1, a distance of approximately 1210 metres,

turning south by east along the lower edge of the shingle bank to the parish boundary

with Salthouse, where it meets the footpath No. 16 in Salthouse - a distance of

approximately 250 metres.

Footpath No. 25 (Church Lane to Old Woman’s Lane) Starts from Church Lane

approximately 45 metres north-west of Footpath No. 18, almost opposite the entrance

to “The Green” (604837/343273), and runs as an earth and grass track in an easterly

direction to exit onto Old Woman’s Lane (605178/343272) approximately 250 metres

north of its junction with Holt Road. The width of the path is 2.5 metres and the length

is 340 metres. December 2007

Footpath No. 26 (Church Lane to Old Woman’s Lane) Starts from Church Lane

adjacent to the village hall (604706/343650) coincident with the entrance to allotments

and leads, as a grass and earth track, southwards for 70 metres, then eastwards from

some 420 metres to exit onto Old Woman’s Lane (605143/343569) some 145 metres

north of Barn Drift. The width of the path is 2.5 metres and the length is 490 metres.

Footpath No. 27 (A149 High Street to Cley-Next-Sea FP4) Starts from the A149 High

Street (map reference TG0446 4391) and runs in a generally west south westerly

direction for approximately 14 metres. At the western end of the route at the concrete

flood defence wall there are 3 steps totalling a length of 60cm and at the top of the

steps a length of 75cm and then a drop of 60cm to meet with footpath Cley-Next-the-

Sea FP4 (map reference TG0445 4390). The width of the route is 95cm. December

Footpath No. 1 (Colby Long Road to Footpath No. 2). Starts from Colby Long Road

and runs north eastwards to St. Giles' Church where it turns south eastwards and

continues to join Footpath No. 2.

Footpath No. 2 (Colby Long Road to Colby Corner). Starts from Colby Long Road

near Methodist Chapel and runs southwards to Long Wood where it turns south

eastwards and continues to Colby Corner.

Footpath No. 3 (Colby Corner to Parish Boundary). Starts from Colby Corner and runs

north eastwards to footbridge at parish boundary.

Footpath No. 4 (Parish Room to North Walsham Road). Starts from the Parish Room

and runs eastwards to TG 2268/2930. From this point onwards the path is at a width

of 1.5 metres and turns to run in a southerly direction for approximately 20 metres and

then eastwards for approximately 60 metres, after which the path width is not

determined. The path runs in a south easterly direction to enter North Walsham Road.

PARISH OF CORPUSTY

Restricted Byway No. 1 (Heath Road to Corpusty/Briston Road). Starts from Heath

Road and runs northwards over railway line to join the Corpusty/Briston Road.

Footpath No. 2 (Saxthorpe – Briston Road to Little London Road) Starts from B1354

(grid reference TG 1054 3112) running in a south westerly direction for a distance of

approximately 185 metres. Continuing in a south easterly direction for a distance of

approximately 90 metres and then in a south south-easterly direction for a distance of

approximately 390 metres (grid reference TG 10373 3069). The path then goes in a

south easterly direction for approximately 55 metres and joins Little London Road at a

stile.

Footpath No. 3 (Corpusty/Heydon Road to Wood Dalling Road). Starts from

Corpusty/Heydon Road and runs north westwards to the Wood Dalling Road.

Footpath No. 4 (Corpusty/Heydon Road to Norwich Road). Starts from

Corpusty/Heydon Road and runs south eastwards to join the Norwich Road by Manor

House.

Footpath No. 5 (Norwich Road to Holt Road). Starts from Norwich Road and runs

north eastwards to Holt Road near Castle Public House.

Footpath No. 6 (Norwich Road to Holt Road). Starts from Norwich Road and runs

south eastwards to cross Footpath No. 5 and then turns southwards to end at corner

of Holt Road opposite the school.

Footpath No. 7 (Corpusty/Heydon Road to Norwich Road). Starts from

Heydon/Corpusty Road north of Corpusty Hill and runs eastwards to field gate on

Norwich Road.

Footpath No. 9 (B1149 to Irmingland Hall Road) Starts at the south eastern side of

the A140 at TG1152/2986 and runs south eastwards alongside Corpusty Common

and then turns southwards to Irmingland Hall Road. March 2003

Footpath 10 (Saxthorpe Road to Footpath No. 9). Starts from stile on Saxthorpe Road

and runs south westwards across Corpusty Common to join Footpath No. 9 at stile.

Footpath No 11 (Old Thatch to Aylsham Road) Starts from field gate by Old Thatch

and runs south eastwards to field gate near River Bure, where it turns north eastwards

and passes through a second field gate where it continues to grid reference TG1289

2999. From this point onwards the path is 3.5 metres wide unless specified otherwise.

The path then turns to run in a generally south-easterly direction for approximately 30

metres to grid reference TG 1292 2997 and then turns to run in a generally north-

easterly direction for approximately 60 metres to a gate and a 1 metre gap on the

south westerly side of the gate at grid reference TG1296 3001. The width of the path

at the point of the gate and gap increases to 4.5 metres. From the gate and the gap

the path continues in a generally north-easterly direction for approximately 27 metres

to grid reference TG 1297 3003 at the B1354 Aylsham Road. July 2008 September

north eastwards to join Footpath No. 15 at Needle Hill.

Footpath No. 14 (Saxthorpe/Aylsham Road to Footpath No. 15). Starts from

Saxthorpe/Aylsham Road at rails and runs south westwards to join Footpath No. 15 at

TG 1161/3036. October 2000

Footpath No 15 (The Street to B1149) Starts from The Street at TG 1154/3040 and

runs in a generally south-easterly direction for approximately 75 metres, and then

south-easterly for approximately 30 metres where the path turns south-westerly before

continuing south eastwards to a point at the top of Needle Hill at TG 1168/3025 where

it turns to run north-easterly for approximately 145 metres to meet up with the B1149.

Footpath No. 16 (Strawberry Lane to Itteringham Footpath No. 8) Starts at Strawberry

Lane at a field boundary on the eastern side of the lane. For the first 85 metres the

path is at a width of 1.5 metres. Follow the field boundary in a south-easterly direction

to the end of the field bank and then continue in a generally easterly direction to the

parish boundary where it joins Itteringham Footpath No. 8.

Footpath No. 17 (Strawberry Lane to Parish Boundary). Starts from field gate at

Strawberry Lane and runs north eastwards through a field gate by Wood Farm and

continues to stile at parish boundary where it joins Itteringham Footpath No. 7.

Bridleway No. 18 (Saxthorpe/Matlaske Road to Watery Lane). Starts from

Saxthorpe/Matlaske Road and runs north eastwards to parish boundary and then

continues along parish boundary to Watery Lane where it joins Little Barningham

Bridleway No. 8.

Footpath No. 19 (Holt Road to Edgefield Street). Starts from Field gate on

Holt/Norwich Road and runs north westwards to cross Footpath No. 20 by field gate

and continues to join Edgefield Street by field gate.

Footpath No. 20 (Saxthorpe/Briston Road to Holt/Norwich Road). Starts from

Saxthorpe/Briston Road and runs north eastwards to cross Footpath No. 19 by field

gate and continues to join Holt/Norwich Road by field gate.

Restricted Byway No. 21 (Holt Road/Norwich Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from

Holt/Norwich Road and runs north eastwards passing by Shrub Farm and continuing

between Old Covert and New Covert to parish boundary where it joins Little

Barningham Restricted Byway No. 9.

Footpath No. 22 (Saxthorpe/Aylsham Road to Strawberry Lane). Starts from the

Saxthorpe/Aylsham Road (map reference TG 1202 3035) and runs in a north north-

easterly direction parallel to and to the east of the field boundary bank for a distance

of approximately 234 metres (map reference TG 1212 3056) and then in an east south-

easterly direction crossfield for a distance of approximately 283 metres to the junction

with Strawberry Lane. This at a width of 1.5 metres.

Bridleway No. 23 (Strawberry Lane) Starts on Matlaske Road at the junction with

Strawberry Lane and runs for a distance of approximately 1,125 metres in a generally

south easterly direction for half of its length, changing to a more southerly direction

over the remainder of its length, to end at the junction with the B1354 Aylsham road.

The width of the bridleway is 3 metres.

Bridleway No. 24 (Monks Lane) Starts on the B1354 Aylsham Road and runs in a

generally southerly direction for a distance of approximately 440 metres to junction

with Post Office Lane, Saxthorpe. The width of the bridleway is 3 metres.

Footpath No. 25 (B1354 Saxthorpe-Aylsham Road to Footpath No. 26) This path was

previously part of Footpath No. 15 and starts from the B1354 Saxthorpe-Aylsham

Road at TG 1186/3037 and runs in a south south-westerly direction for approximately

100 metres to meet with Footpath No. 26. March 2003

Footpath No. 26 (Footpath No 25 to Post Office Lane) Starts from the southern end

of Footpath No. 25 and runs in a generally south south-westerly direction parallel to

the B1149 to meet with Post Office Lane. March 2003

Bridleway No. 27 (1149 to Post Office Lane) Starts from the northern side of B1149

at TG 1167/3003 and runs in a generally northerly direction for approximately 20

metres to join with Post Office Lane. March 2003

Footpath No. 28 (Norwich Road to Adams Lane) Starts from the C288 Norwich Road

at grid reference TG 11421 29995 and runs in a generally west south-westerly

direction for approximately 14 metres to grid reference TG 11408 29991 where the

path continues in a generally south westerly direction for a distance of approximately

80 metres to meet Corpusty Public Footpath No. 4 on Adams Lane at grid reference

TG 11355 29952. The width of the footpath is 2 metres. March 2018

Footpath No 1a (New Street to Footpath No 24) Starts from the junction of New Street

and Price of Wales Road, near the Melbourne Hotel, and runs westwards along the

end of Footpath No. 24 and runs westwards along the cliff edge to the Urban District

Bridleway No. 2 (Urban District Boundary to Bridleway No. 3). Starts from a stile at

theUrban District western boundary and runs eastwards, north of Howard's Hill to join

Bridleway No. 3 at a stile.

Bridleway No. 3 (Runton Road to Howard's Hill Road). Starts from Runton Road and

runs due south to the western end of Howard's Hill Road.

Footpath No. 4 (Hall Road to The Croft). Starts by a kissing gate at Hall Road where

a notice boards states "Public Path", and runs diagonally across pasture field in a north

easterly direction to a kissing gate at the Croft where another notice states "Public

Path".

Footpath No. 5 (Church Yard to Tucker Street). This tarred path starts from the north

west corner of the Churchyard and runs south eastwards to Church Street, then turns

left and continues behind the east end of the Church to exit into Tucker Street.

Footpath No. 6 (Tucker Street to Surrey Street). Starts from the eastern end of Tucker

Street where a notice states "Cycling is strictly prohibited on this path" and runs

eastwards, then southwards to Surrey Street where there is another notice board

prohibiting cycling. The path has a tar surface and is enclosed by railings.

Footpath No. 7 (Love Lane). Starts from Roughton Road through a gateway and runs

north westwards bearing northwards to a kissing gate. From this point the path has a

tarred surface and continues northwards behind the Convalescent Home, enclosed by

a hedge on the east and bushes and barbed wire on the west, to exit into Arbor Road.

Footpath No. 8 (Footpath No. 9 to Urban District Boundary). Starts from Footpath No.

9 immediately south of the bridge over the railway line and runs westwards along the

southern boundary of the railway line to Cromer Plantation. The path then continues

along the southern boundary of and through the Plantation to the Urban District

Boundary.

Footpath No. 9 (Hall Road to Urban District Boundary). Starts from Hall Road by a

stile at a point just south of the drive leading to Home Farm where a notice board

states "Public Path". The path runs south westwards to the south eastern corner of

Stile Wood where it passes through a gap in the hedge and bears right and runs to the

railway line which it crosses by a bridge. On the south side of the bridge another notice

board states that the path is public. The path continues diagonally across the next field

to the Urban District Boundary where a further notice board states "Public Path".

Footpath No. 10 (Cliff Lane) Starts from Overstrand Road where a notice board states

"To Warren Woods and Footpath" and runs eastwards to Footpath No. 111.

Footpath No. 11 (Footpath No. 10 to Urban District Boundary). Starts from the cliffs

at a passage leading to Cliff Drive and runs southwards to Footpath No. 10 at the north

west corner of Warren Woods and then runs south eastwards along the edge of the

cliff to the Urban District Boundary.

Footpath No. 13 (Footpath No. 11 to Overstrand Road). Starts from Footpath No. 11

at Happy Valley and runs south westwards past the north side of a shelter and up an

incline along side wall of drive to Links Hotel to disused wall. The path then descends

by steps to railed exit into Overstrand Road.

Footpath No. 14 (Footpath No. 13 to Overstrand Road). Starts from Footpath No. 13

at the bottom of the hill overlooking Happy Valley and runs south eastwards past two

notice boards which state "CROMER URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL: Playing Golf in

Happy Valley is Prohibited. W.H. Easton, Clerk." The path continues to the top of the

Valley and bears right passing the Lighthouse and the back of the 15th Green and

running southwards past the Golf Club House and the Roman Catholic Church to

Overstrand Road.

Footpath No. 15 (Central Road to Bernard Road). Starts from Central Road and runs

northwards between wooden fences of private gardens, then eastwards for a short

distance, and again northwards to Bernard Road.

Footpath No. 16 (Howards Hill). Starts from western end of Sandy Land and runs

northwards over Railway Bridge. It then turns north eastwards across Howarths Hill

to join the western extremity of the street known as Howards Hill.

Footpath No. 18 (Roughton Road to Norwich Road). Starts in Roughton Road opposite

Footpath No. 17, runs eastwards across Allotment Gardens to Norwich Road.

Footpath No. 19 (Roughton Road to Norwich Road). Starts in Roughton Road opposite

Old Brickfields and runs eastwards to enter Norwich Road on southern boundary of

farm buildings.

Footpath No. 22 (Happy Valley to Overstrand Road). Starts at Footpath No. 13 and

runs southwards through Woods to rejoin Footpath No. 13 at Overstrand Road.

Footpath No. 23 (Stony Hill to Footpath No. 14). Starts at Stony Hill and runs

southwards then bears eastwards to join footpath No. 14.

Footpath No.24 A public footpath starting from grid reference TG 2122 4246 running

in a southerly direction for 20 metres to grid reference TG 2122 4244 before curving

in a generally south easterly direction for a distance of 14 metres to TG 2123 4243

around the outside edge of an adjacent property and past the private driveway. From

here the path runs in an east south-easterly direction for 38 metres to TG 2126 4242.

Up to this point the path has a width of 1.7 metres. The path then runs in a northerly

direction for 10 metres, at a width of 2.7 metres to TG 2126 4243. From here the path

returns to a width of 1.7 metres and continues in a north north-easterly direction for

5.5 metres to TG 2127 4243 and then easterly for a further 15.5 metres to TG 2128

4243. The path finally turns to run north-easterly for 7 metres to TG 2129 4243. The

length of the route is 110 metres. May 2011

Bridleway No. 3 (Yarmouth Road to Church). Starts from Yarmouth Road north west

of Hill House and runs northwards to St. Nicholas's Church.

Footpath No. 4 (Bridleway No. 3 to New Barn). Starts at TG 3265/2571 at the junction

with Bridleway No. 3 and runs eastwards to New Barn. October 2000

Bridleway No. 5 (Church Road to Bridleway No. 8) Starts alongside the hedge next

to Church Road running north westerly for approximately 60 metres where it turns

north easterly following the hedge for approximately 290 metres where it joins

Bridleway No. 8. This path at a width not less than 3 metres. October 2000

Footpath No. 6 (Honing Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from Honing Road north of

Dilham House and runs north eastwards to parish boundary where it joins Honing

Footpath No. 22.

Footpath No. 7 (St. Villiers Fen to Tonnage Bridge). Starts from Honing Footpath No.

22 at the parish boundary and runs eastwards along the southern tow-path of the canal

bearing southwards to Tonnage Bridge.

Bridleway No. 8 (Bridleway No. 5 to Honing Road). Starts from the north-eastern end

of Bridleway No. 5 and runs in a north easterly direction and then a northerly direction

to TG 3279/2656. From this point onwards the minimum width of this section is to be

not less than 3 metres wide measured from the foot of the bank. The path turns and

runs easterly for approximately 110 metres and then turns in a northerly direction along

the field edge for approximately 85 metres where it junctions with Honing Road.

Bridleway No. 9 (Tonnage Bridge Road to Broad Fen Lane). Starts by a stile from

Tonnage Bridge Road and runs eastwards to TG 3429/2586. From this point onwards

the path is at a width of 1.5 metres and turns to run in a southerly direction for

approximately 70 metres where it joins Broad Fen Lane. October 2000

Restricted Byway No. 11 (Tonnage Bridge to Broad Fen Lane). Starts at Tonnage

Bridge and runs along Broad Fen Lane to finish at northern end of O.S. 214.

Footpath No. 12 (Mill Staithe - Mill Road to Water's Edge). Starts at the eastern end

of Mill Road, adjacent to the junction with the private drive to Riversdale House, then

runs along Mill Staithe in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 96

metres, passing Staithe Cottages, to the water's edge. The overall width of the

footpath varies from 6 metres to 14 metres, but is not less than 6 metres at any point.

Bridleway No. 13 (A149 to Bridleway No. 3) Starts at TG 3256/2526, and runs in a

south easterly direction along the hedge adjacent to road A149 for approximately 200

metres to its junction with Bridleway No. 3. The minimum width of the bridleway will

be not less than 3 metres measured from the foot of the bank. October 2000

Footpath No. 14 (Junction Chapel Road/A149 to Bridleway No. 3). Starts from the

junction of Chapel Road and the A149 and runs in a north-westerly direction alongside

the hedge adjacent to the A149 for approximately 320 metres to a point opposite the

southern end of Bridleway No. 3. The minimum width of the footpath will be not less

than 1.5 metres measured from the foot of the bank. October 2000

Footpath No. 1 (Fakenham Road to Litcham Road). Starts from Fakenham Road

between two blocks of cottages (Meadowcroft and Clifton) and runs south eastwards

passing to the north east of Hurn Plantation (Bluebell Wood) to Litcham Road.

Restricted Byway No. 2 (Litcham Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from Litcham

Road, opposite Footpath No. 1 and runs south eastwards to the parish boundary.

Bridleway No. 3 (Tatterford Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from the Tatterford

Road, west of the railway line, and runs westwards to the parish boundary where it

joins Tattersett Bridleway No. 3. November 2001

Footpath No. 4 (Fakenham - Helhoughton Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from the

Fakenham - Helhoughton Road and runs north eastwards for 85 yards to the parish

boundary to join Hempton Footpath No. 1.

PARISH OF EAST BECKHAM

Footpath No. 1 (Old Council Houses to Footpath No. 2). Starts from Old Council

Houses and runs north eastwards to road near East Beckham Hall, and continues

along an existing track in a north north-easterly direction for a distance of 300 metres

to its junction with Footpath No. 2.

Footpath No. 2 (Abbey Farm to Footpath No. 3 West Beckham). Starts from County

Highway U14307 opposite Abbey Farm and runs in a westerly direction on the northern

side of a stream for a distance of approximately 276 metres to a stile and then

continues west for a distance of approximately 295 metres to its junction with an

existing track at a stile and then north easterly along this track for approximately 90

metres and then northwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 130

metres to the south west corner of parcel no. OS 2723 and then north north-easterly

along field boundary for approximately 60 metres then westerly along field boundaries

for approximately 180 metres to its junction with an existing track then northerly along

the track for approximately 100 metres, then following field boundaries in a generally

westerly direction for a distance of approximately 560 metres to the south western

corner of parcel no. OS 6850 then northerly along field boundaries for a distance of

approximately 210 metres to the parish boundary and following the parish boundary

in a generally westerly direction for a distance of approximately 300 metres to its

junction with Footpath No. 3 West Beckham. Commencing at the site of St. Helen's

Church and running in a northerly direction for a distance of approximately 30 metres

to a bridge and stile near its junction with the footpath.

Footpath No. 3 (Red Barn Road to East Beckham). Starts from Red Barn Road and

runs north eastwards, turning northwards alongside East Beckham Common, and

continuing to East Beckham.

Footpath No. 4 (East Beckham to Holt/Cromer Road). Starts from East Beckham and

runs north eastwards through fieldgate and then turns south eastwards to Field Barn.

Path continues from Field Barn to end at parish boundary on Holt/Cromer Road.

Restricted Byway No. 8 (Bennington's Lane). Starts from Mill Lane at parish boundary

and runs northwards along parish boundary to join Beeston Regis Restricted Byway

No. 15.

PARISH OF EAST RUSTON

Footpath No. 1 (Chequers Inn to Canal). Starts from the road opposite Chequer's Inn

and runs westwards crossing the railway where there are stiles to South Fen Common.

Proceeds across the Common to its south-western corner and the Canal Bank.

Footpath No. 2 (Footpath No. 1 to Tonnage Bridge). Starts from Footpath No. 1 at

South Fen Common boundary and runs southwards along the boundary of the

Common turning south westwards to the Canal and continuing along Canal Bank to

Tonnage Bridge.

Footpath No. 3 (Shop Fields Footpath). Starts from stile south east of Chequers Inn

and runs north-eastwards to join High Hill Road by a stile.

Footpath No. 4 (Back Lane to Restricted Byway No. 26). Starts from the junction of

Back Lane and High Hill Road by a stile and runs south-eastwards to join Restricted

Byway No. 26 by a stile.

Footpath No. 5 (High Hill Road to Footpath No. 6). Starts from High Hill Road by a stile

and runs north eastwards to the junction of Footpath No. 6 and Footpath No. 8.

Footpath No. 6 (Back Lane to Simms Road). Starts from Back Lane Corner and runs

northwards to junction of Footpath No. 5 and Footpath No. 8, continuing to Simms

Road.

Footpath No. 7 (Barnell's Farm to Old Farm). Starts from the road near Barnells Farm

by a stile and runs northwards to join the road south of Old Farm by a stile.

Footpath No. 8 (Old Farm Cottages to Long Common). Starts from road south of Old

Farm Cottages by a stile and runs south eastwards to junction of Footpath No. 5 and

Footpath No. 6 continuing across Back Road and Long Common to joint Brumstead

Footpath No. 3 at the parish boundary.

Footpath No. 9 (Youngmans Lane to Drabbs Lane). Starts from Youngmans Lane

and runs in a south-easterly direction parallel to and to the south of the field boundary

bank and hedge for approximately 165 metres, and then turns to run in a generally

northerly direction parallel to and to the east of the field bank for approximately 62

metres crossing over the shallow ditch and field boundary bank into the adjoining field

at TG 3465/2789. The path then turns in a south-easterly direction parallel to and to

the north of the field boundary bank for approximately 160 metres to the gap in the

hedge and junction with Drabbs Lane. This path at a width of 1.5 metres. October

Footpath No. 10 (Old Farm Road to Silcock's Farm). Starts from Old Farm Road and

runs northwards to join the road near Silcock's Farm by a stile.

Footpath No. 11 (Little Thoroughfare Footpath). Starts east of Silcock's Farm by a

fieldgate and runs north eastwards to join Footpath No. 6.

Footpath No. 12 (School Road to Fox Hill). Starts at School Road by a stile near a

cottage and runs northwards to TG 3522/2910. From this point onwards the path is at

a width of 1.5 metres and turns to run in a north westerly direction parallel to and to

the north of the field boundary for approximately 63 metres to the south west corner

of the field and then runs in a northerly direction parallel to Fox Hill Road and to east

of the field boundary for approximately 45 metres to exit onto Fox Hill Road. October

Footpath No. 13 (Fox Hill Road) Starts at Fox Hill Road at its junction with Old School

Road and runs parallel to Fox Hill Road and to the east of the field boundary bank in

a southerly direction for approximately 112 metres to junction with the western end of

R.B. 14. This path at a width of 1.5 metres. October 2000

Restricted Byway No. 14 (White Lane). Starts from Fox Hill Road and runs eastwards

to Larkey's Farm.

Footpath No. 16 (Munn's Lane to Hall Road). Starts from Munn's Lane, north of

Footpath No. 15 and runs eastwards to Hall Road near Hill Cottages.

Footpath No. 17 (Hall Road to Old Mill Hill). Starts from Hall Road north of East Ruston

Hall and runs north eastwards to Old Mill Hill where it joins the road by a stile.

Footpath No. 18 Running from the crossfield track in a southerly direction crossfield

for a distance of approximately 278 metres to the corner of the field boundary bank.

Footpath No. 21 (Church Road to Happisburgh Road). Starts from Church Road by a

stile opposite the Church and runs north westwards to Happisburgh Road.

Footpath No. 22 (Happisburgh Road to Larkey's Farm). Starts from Happisburgh Road

west of Footpath No. 21 and runs north westwards to join the road near Larkey's Farm.

Footpath No. 23 (Church Road to Simm's Lane). Starts from Church Road opposite

the Church and runs south-westwards to Simm's Lane.

Footpath No. 24 (Simm's Lane to Pound Cottage). Starts from Simm's Lane opposite

Footpath No. 6 and runs northwards to Happisburgh Road at Pound Cottages.

Restricted Byway No. 25 (Fox Common Lane) Starts at Fox Hill and runs northwards

east of Fox Common to the parish boundary.

Restricted Byway No. 26 (Back Road to Long Common). Starts from the junction of

Back Road and Long Common Road and runs southwards to join Footpath No. 4 at

the south end of Long Common.

Footpath No. 27 (Stone Cottages to Parish Boundary). Starts from the Stone Cottages

south of Town House and runs westwards crossing the railway where there are kissing

gates to grid reference TG 3446 2721 where the path has a width of 2 metres and runs

in a generally west south westerly direction for approximately 31 metres to grid

reference TG 3443 2720 where the path then heads in generally west north westerly

direction for approximately 52 metres to grid reference TG 3438 2722 where the path

has a width of 3 metres and turns to run in a westerly direction for approximately 24

metres to meet Honing Footpath No. 15 at the parish boundary at grid reference TG

3436 2722.

Restricted Byway No. 28 (Honing Road to Youngmans Lane). Starts from Honing

Road near Butcher's Arms and runs southwards by Furze Housing Estate to join the

road leading to the Post Office and Methodist Chapel.

Footpath No. 29 (Church Farm to Parish Boundary). Starts from Church Farm Road

and runs south eastwards to join Happisburgh Footpath No. 21 at the parish boundary.

Footpath No. 30 (Old Mill Hill to Parish Boundary). Starts from Old Mill Hill at Footpath

No. 18 and runs eastwards to join Happisburgh Footpath No. 13 at the parish

boundary.

Footpath No. 31 (Restricted Byway No. 14 to Larkeys Lane). Starts at the eastern

end of Restricted Byway No. 14 and runs in a southerly direction parallel to and to the

west of the field boundary hedge for approximately 145 metres to the northern

boundary of Larkey's Cottage before exiting through a gap in the hedge into Larkeys

Lane. This path at a width of 2 metres. October 2000

Footpath No. 32 (Footpath No. 30 to Bridleway No. 33). Starts from junction of

Footpath Nos. 30 and 13 and runs in a southerly direction along the field edge parallel

to and to the west of the field boundary bank for a distance of approximately 116

metres and then cross field in a southerly direction for 226 metres where it joins up

with a cross field track. This footpath is 1.5 metres wide. June 2000

Bridleway No. 33 (Mill Lane to Happisburgh Bridleway No. 23). Running from Mill

Lane (track) – Restricted Byway No. 19 in a generally north-easterly direction along

the field edge parallel to and to the north of the field boundary bank for a distance of

approximately 194 metres to the beginning of the crossfield track. This section at 3

metres in width. Continue along the track until it joins up with Happisburgh Bridleway

No. 23. This section is a minimum width of 3 metres. June 2000

Footpath No. 34 (Parish Boundary to Happisburgh Footpath No. 19). Starts from the

parish boundary with Happisburgh at TG 3738/2827 and runs parallel to the field

headland in a westerly direction for approximately 72 metres and then turns in a

northerly direction to run parallel to the field headland for approximately 308 metres.

From this point the path runs parallel with the southern boundary of Thirsts Farm in an

easterly direction for approximately 139 metres to the parish boundary. This footpath

is at a width of 1.5 metres. October 2000

Bridleway No. 35 (Restricted Byway 25 to Munns Lane). Starts at a junction with

Restricted Byway No. 25 and runs along a track in generally an easterly direction for

approximately 280 metres to the point where the track ends. Up to this point the path

is at a width of 3 metres. From this point onwards the path is at a width of 2 metres

and continues running in an easterly direction for approximately 195 metres to junction

with the track known as Munns Lane. October 2000

Footpath No. 36 (Footpath No. 12 to Larkeys Lane). Starts at TG 3522/2910 where

it junctions with Footpath No. 12 and runs in generally an easterly direction parallel to

and to the north of the field boundary bank and hedge for approximately 358 metres

to the corner of the field boundary hedge. Up to this point the path is at a width of 1.5

metres. From this point onwards the path is at a width of 1 metre and runs in an

easterly direction crossfield for a distance of approximately 176 metres where it

junctions with Larkeys Lane. October 2000

Footpath No. 1 (Petticoat Lane). Starts from Norwich/Holt Road and runs westwards

and then turns south westwards and continues to enter The Street.

Footpath No. 2 (Callas Close Footpath). Starts from Church Road by field gate and

runs southwards to second field gate and then continues to join The Street by field

gate.

Footpath No. 3 (Rectory Road to Edgefield Green). Starts from Rectory Road near

Rectory and runs south-eastwards to join road in Edgefield Green.

Footpath No. 4 (Smokers Hole Drift). Starts from Holt parish boundary at Holt Road

and runs south eastwards across Edgefield Heath to parish boundary where it joins

Hempstead Footpath No. 5.

Restricted Byway No. 5 (Green Lane). Starts from Ramsgate Street, south of the

smith, and runs westwards to the parish boundary.

Restricted Byway No. 6 (Turkey Lane to Hunworth Road) Starts on the south west

corner of Turkey Lane (U14431) at grid reference TG 0925 3500 and runs in a

generally south direction for approximately 72 metres to grid reference TG 0924 3493

at which point the route then turns to run in a generally south west direction for 560

metres where it joins Hunworth Road (C312) at grid reference TG 0894 3448. The

width extends between property boundaries and varies between 5.5 metres and 10

metres.

Fring Wood Farm and runs northwards to Abbot's Grove at parish boundary where it

joins Wickmere Restricted Byway No 11.

Footpath No. 3 (Fring Wood to Parish Boundary). Starts at a junction with the County

Highway U14250, by Fring Wood, and follows a farm track southwards and eastwards,

before passing through a gate into a meadow, and running in a southerly direction past

Rough Pasture Carr, to the Parish Boundary.

Footpath No. 4 (Calthorpe Road to Hospital Farm). Starts from Calthorpe Road and

runs southwards to Hospital Farm where it turns eastwards and continues to join road.

Footpath No. 5 (Rectory to Beech Lane). Starts from road opposite Rectory and runs

south-wards to enter Beech Lane.

Footpath No. 6 (King's Head Public House to Parish Boundary). Starts from road near

King's Head Public House and runs northwards to parish boundary where it joins Alby-

with-Thwaite Footpath No. 9.

Bridleway No. 7 (From Parish Boundary to Horse Shoes Public House). Starts from

Alby parish boundary and runs eastwards to parish boundary where it joins Bridleway

No. 10 of Alby which runs to Horse Shoes Public House.

Footpath No. 8 (Dolphin Lane). Starts from Cromer Road near Horse Shoes Public

House and runs eastwards along Dolphin Lane to Parish Boundary where it joins Alby-

with-Thwaite Footpath No. 12.

Footpath No. 9 (West End Plantaton Lane to R.D. Boundary). Starts from West End

Plantation Land by south-east corner of West End Plantation and runs westwards and

then turns south westwards to River Bure at R.D. Boundary.

Footpath No. 10 (Parish Boundary to Gulgate Lane) Running from TG 18265/29699

at the Parish boundary and at the centre of the footbridge to the top of the northern

bank of the River Bure and then in an easterly direction for approximately 69 metres

along the riverbank to a stile at TG 18328/29680. The total distance for this section is

78 metres. Continuing crossfield in a north-easterly direction for approximately 29

metres to the southern end of an outgrown hedge boundary and then continuing for

approximately 81 metres along the western side of the existing ditch to a ditch

crossover at TG 18382/29774. Continuing for approximately 106 metres along the

eastern side of the existing ditch in a northerly direction to a stile at the southern end

of a green lane enclosed between hedges at TG18427/29864. The width of this

section is 1.5 metres. Continuing northwards for a distance of approximately 193

metres to the junction with FP 9 at TG 18400/30052. Continuing in a northerly direction

for 127 metres to a point at the north-east corner of West End Plantation and then

curving in a north-easterly direction along a track for a distance of approximately 234

metres to exit at TG18538/30341 on Gulgate Lane to the south-east of Ash Tree Farm.

The width of this section is 3.0 metres.

PARISH OF FAKENHAM

Restricted Byway No. 1 (Victoria Lane). Starts from the Norwich Road eastwards of

Fakenham Station and runs southwards past the junction of Restricted Byway No. 5,

then bears westwards and again southwards to the railway line where it joins Bridleway

No. 6.

Restricted Byway No. 2 (Mission Lane). Starts from the Norwich Road east of

Restricted Byway No. 1 and runs southwards to Heath Lane (Restricted Byway No. 5).

Restricted Byway No. 3 (Heath Lane). Starts from the Norwich Road immediately west

of No. 158 The Heath and runs southwards to the eastern end of Heath Lane where it

joins Bridleway No. 4.

Bridleway No. 4 (Heath Lane to Bridleway No. 6). Starts from the eastern end of Heath

Lane and runs southwards across the railway line to the River Wensum and then runs

westwards along the river bank to join Bridleway No. 6 at Three Brick Arch Bridge.

Restricted Byway No. 5 (Barbers Lane). Starts from Victoria Lane (Restricted Byway

No. 1) and runs eastwards to the southern end of Mission Hall Lane (Restricted Byway

No. 2) and continues to Pennell's Lane (Restricted Byway No. 3).

Bridleway No. 6 (Three Brick Arch to Restricted Byway No. 1). Starts from Three Brick

Arch at the junction of Restricted Byway No. 8 and Bridleway No. 4 and runs north

westwards alongside the Ryburgh - Fakenham East railway bearing northwards to

cross the railway line by 2 stiles to join Restricted Byway No. 1.

Restricted Byway No. 7 (Norwich Road to Holt Road). Starts from the Norwich Road

immediately east of Fakenham East Station and runs northwards to the Holt Road.

Restricted Byway No. 8 (From Restricted Byway No. 9 to Bridleway No. 6). Starts

from the eastern end of Restricted Byway No. 9 at ford and runs eastwards along north

bank of River Wensum crossing the Thursford - Fakenham West railway where there

is a 2 step stile at each side. The path then continues to Three Brick Arch under the

Ryburgh - Fakenham East railway to the junction of Bridleway No. 6 and Bridleway

No. 4.

Restricted Byway No. 9 (Gasworks to Restricted Byway 8) Starts between Gasworks

and Bridge over River Wensum opposite Corn Mill and runs eastwards to join

Restricted Byway No. 8 at the ford.

Restricted Byway No. 10 (Norwich Road to White Horse Street). Starts from the

Norwich Road between Baron's Hall and the Grant Eastern Railway Hotel and runs

southwards to Baron's Hall Farm where it bears westwards along Old Lane to exit at

the junction of White Horse Street and Cattle Market Street.

Restricted Byway No. 11 (Rudham Stile Lane). Starts from the Wells Road and runs

north easterly for a distance of approximately 45 metres, then generally south

eastward along the Rudham Stile Lane to the junction of Field Lane and Trap Lane.

Footpath No. 12 (Holt Road to Norwich Road). Starts from Holt Road, opposite No. 43

and runs southwards to Norwich Road next to No. 41.

Footpath No. 13 (Holt Road to Norwich Road). Starts from Holt Road opposite

Footpath No. 14 and runs southwards to the Norwich Road.

Footpath No 14 (Queens Road to Holt Road) Starts from Queens Road immediately

opposite Loves Lane and runs in a northerly direction along the eastern side of Queens

Road for approximately 32 metres where it turns to run easterly for approximately 56

metres and then south westerly for 48 metres to join the Holt Road. June 2001

Footpath No. 15 (Malthouse Lane to Market Place). Starts from Malthouse Lane or

Clay Pit Lane immediately east of the Old Tannery and runs southwards east of the

Church to Market Place down stone steps under narrow archway by Church porch.

Footpath No. 16 (Oak Street to Footpath No. 15). Starts from Oak Street at the junction

of Wells Road and Nelson Street, and runs eastwards to join Footpath No. 15.

Footpath No. 17 (Queen's Road to Footpath No. 15). Starts from Queen's Road

opposite Footpath No. 14 and runs westwards to Footpath No. 15.

Footpath No. 19 (Corn Mill to Fakenham West Station). Starts from Mill Lane near the

Corn Mill under archway in the mill and runs westwards on the river bank to Fakenham

West Station.

Footpath No. 20 (Gogg's Mill to Cycle Track). Starts from Gogg’s Mill and runs in a

south easterly direction to the beginning of the cycle track.

Footpath No. 21 (Gogg's Mill to fields). Starts from Gogg's Mill and runs north-

westwards to the parish boundary and then runs eastwards to fields.

Restricted Byway No. 22 (Water Moor Lane). Starts from Norwich Long Lane, west of

the junction of Grove Lane, and runs northwards to Water Moor.

Bridleway No. 23 (A148 to Trap Lane) Starts from the southern boundary of the A148

Fakenham Bypass at map reference TF9179 3123 and runs in a south easterly

direction for approximately 3 metres to meet the adopted highway known as the

U14055 Trap Lane. The width of the bridleway is approximately 8 metres. June 2014

Bridleway No. 24 (A148 to Wells Road) Starts from the north boundary of the A148

Fakenham Bypass at map reference TF9224 3128 and runs in a northerly direction for

approximately 45 metres to meet the Wells Road at map reference TF9225 3132. The

Bridleway No. 25 (A148 to Grove Lane) Starts at the southern boundary of the A148

Fakenham Bypass at map reference TF9286 3113 and runs in a southerly direction

Footpath No. 1 (Holt/Cromer Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from Holt/Cromer Road

and runs south westwards through Great Wood to parish boundary where it joins

Aylmerton Footpath No. 8.

Footpath No. 2 (Lodge Road to Mustard Pot Lodge). Starts from Lodge Road and runs

southwards through Smith's Rough to road by Mustard Pot Lodge.

Footpath No. 3 (King's Plantation to Parish Boundary). Starts from road opposite

King's Plantation and runs westwards and then turns south westwards to Dairy Farm.

Path then continues by Felbrigg Hall and turns north westwards to parish boundary at

Roundwood Hill. Path joins Aylmerton Footpath No. 9 at boundary.

Footpath No 4 (From Footpath No 3 to Parish Boundary) Starts from Footpath No 3

and runs south south west for approximately 165 metres. From this point onwards the

path is at a width of approximately 4 feet and turns to run west for approximately 287

metres to join a farm track. The path then turns to run south for approximately 436

metres to a field boundary. The path then goes in a westerly direction following the

field boundary for 163 metres. From this point onwards the path width is not

determined as it turns to run south westwards from St Margarets Church to the parish

boundary where it joins Aylmerton Footpath No 10. June 2001

Footpath No. 5 (From Footpath No 4 to Parish Boundary) Starts from Footpath No 4

at approximately TG 19933900 and runs in a southerly direction to junction with

another farm track. Up to this point the path is at an approximately width of

4 feet. From this point onwards the path width is not determined. The path continues

running south to the northern end of the woodland area known as Metton Carr and

The Belt. From this point onwards the path is at a width of approximately 4 feet. The

path winds through the woodland in a mainly southerly direction to the corner of a field.

The path then follows the edge of the woodland (on the east side of the boundary) for

approximately 80 metres. From this point onwards the width of the path is not

determined. The path continues by running south south easterly to the parish

boundary where it joins Sustead Footpath No 8. June 2001

Bridleway No. 6 Starting from the U14291 Dick Bucks Burrows at grid reference

TG2096 4039 and proceeding in a south westerly direction for 666 metres to grid

reference TG2079 3974 and then in a southerly direction for approximately 148 metres

to the B1436 Roughton Road at grid reference TG2079 3959. The width of the route

varies between 1.5 metres and 7.7 metres. January 2018

Footpath No. 7 (Lodge Road to U.D. Boundary). Starts from Lodge Road and runs

north eastwards to U.D. boundary.

Footpath No. 8 - (Roughton Road, Roughton to Metton Road). Starts at Roughton

Road Roughton, to the south of the junction with Holwy Close, and runs in a westerly

direction for a total distance of 528 metres to join Metton Road, Felbrigg. The path

runs between fenced, pastured fields from Roughton Road, westwards, for 343 metres

and then through a farmyard for a further 75 metres. This section of the path has an

average width of 3 metres. The path then runs over a hardened driveway to Metton

Road. This section of the path has an average width of 3.3 metres.

Bridleway No. 9 (Catton’s Drift) Starts at the junction of Melton Road and Footpath

No. 7 Roughton, and runs for approximately 500 metres in a north westerly direction.

The way then turns north north-east and continues in an almost direct line for another

1380 metres through mixed Woodland, an arable field, past the west side of Green

Plantation and Cottage Plantation and finally past some new buildings to the B1436

Roughton to Felbrigg Road. The width of this bridleway is variable but at no point less

than 3 metres.

Footpath No. 10 (A148 to Greens Lane) Running from TG20296/40958 off the A148

for a distance of approximately 135 metres and more or less parallel with the southern

boundary hedge of Gray’s Plantation and at a distance of between 6 and 11 metres

from the boundary to exit at TG20175/41010 on Greens Lane. This footpath is at a

width of 1.5 metres.

PARISH OF FELMINGHAM

Footpath No. 1 (Back Road to Skeyton Road). Starts from Back Road nearly opposite

Footpath No. 2 and runs northwards across glebe land bearing eastwards between

two properties on an estate, then northwards and eastwards again following the line

of the estate road to join the Skeyton Road near the King's Head public house.

Footpath No. 2 (Hall Road to Back Road). Starts from Hall Road and runs northwards

crossing F.P. 3 and the railway to join Back Road near Footpath No. 1.

Footpath No. 3 (Station Road to Hyltons Cross Ways). Starts from Station Road, south

of the Station and runs north-westwards, crossing Footpath No. 2 and the railway, and

through Nurseries to Hylton Cross Ways.

Footpath No. 4 (Aylsham-North Walsham Road to Suffield Road). Starts from the

Aylsham-North Walsham Road and runs westwards to exit at Suffield Road north of

Oaks Farm.

Footpath No. 5 (The Street to Parish Boundary). Starts from the Street north of St.

Andrew's Church and runs eastwards across Bryant's Heath to the Parish boundary.

Footpath No. 6 (North Walsham-Aylsham Road to Footpath No. 7). Starts from the

North Walsham-Aylsham Road south of Aylsham Road Farm and runs eastwards to

cottages where it links up with Footpath No. 7.

Footpath No. 7 (Heath Road to B1145 North Walsham Road). Starts from

TG25709/29848 at the junction with Heath Road in an easterly direction parallel with

and to the south side of the garden boundary and to the north side of the pond for a

distance of approximately 45 metres to TG25749/29851. This section at a width of 1.5

metres. The path then turns and continues in a northerly direction parallel with and to

the eastern side of the field boundary for a distance of approximately 159 metres to

TG25760/30008. Continuing in an easterly direction parallel with and to the south side

of the field boundary bank for a distance of approximately 15 metres to exit onto the

B1145. This section at a width of 2.0 metres.

Footpath No. 8 (Felmingham-Cromer Road to Parish Boundary) Starts from the

Felmingham-Cromer Road west of Aylsham Road Farm and runs north-westwards to

the parish boundary.

Footpath No. 9 (Bradmore Road to Cromer Road). Starts from the Bradmore Road

and runs north-westwards to join the Cromer Road at Rugg's Hall.

Footpath No. 10 (Suffield Road to Aylsham - North Walsham Road). Starts from the

Suffield Road near Stream and runs westwards to Felmingham Mill, then southwards

to join the Aylsham-North Walsham Road (B1145).

Bridleway No. 11 (Tuttington Bridleway No. 2 to Stow Heath Lane). Starts at the

northern end of Tuttington Bridleway No. 2 and proceeds in a generally northerly

direction into Enclosure No. 3188 and then in an easterly direction along the northern

field boundary for approximately 190 metres.

Bridleway No. 12 (Bradmoor Road) Starts from the junction of the A149, south of Wild's

Farm and runs southwards for approximately 1760 metres to the junction of the B1145

North Walsham Road. The bridleway runs across the full paved width of the old

Bridleway No. 1 (Common Lane). Starts from the Field Dalling-Saxlingham Road and

runs in a south-easterly direction to Eastmoor Farm where it joins Footpath No. 5.

Bridlewway No. 2 (Field Dalling - Saxlingham Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from

Field Dalling-Saxlingham Road, east of the Chapel, and runs north-westwards

following the parish boundary to join Langham Bridleway No. 2.

Footpath No. 3 (Holt Road to Bale Road). Starts from the Holt Road, about half-way

between The Plough public house and Bluetile Farm, and runs southwards, east of

the Hall, to the Bale Road.

Footpath No. 4 (Langham Road to Binham Road). Starts from the Langham Road

passing through St. Andrew's Churchyard to a stile, then runs south westwards by

stepping stones over stream to the Binham Road.

Footpath No. 5 (Eastmoor Farm to Parish Boundary). Starts from the southern end of

Bridleway No. 1 at Eastmoor Farm and runs south eastwards to the parish boundary,

then follows the boundary north eastwards for a short distance to join Brinton Footpath

No. 2.

Bridleway No. 6 (Cake's Lane). Starts from the Bale Road, at a point on the southern

boundary of the parish, and runs westwards along the boundary to join Hindringham

Footpath No. 6.

Footpath No. 7 (Cake's Lane to Binham Road). Starts from Cake's Lane and runs in a

northerly direction past little marsh to enter Binham Road almost opposite Footpath

No. 4.

Footpath No. 8 (Smoker's Hole to Letheringsett-Gladford Road). Starts opposite

School Road and runs eastwards through Smoker's Hole then along southern

boundary of Wood to finish at Letheringsett-Glandford Road opposite Bayfield Park.

Footpath No. 9 (Roddy Lane). Starts from the Field Dalling-Langham Road and runs

westward then northward turning north westward to finish approximately 460 yards

from boundary.

PARISH OF FULMODESTONE

Restricted Byway No. 1 (Fulmodeston-Kettlestone Road to Parish Boundary). Starts

from the Fulmodestone-Kettlestone Road and runs south-westwards to Clipstone

House, then westwards to the railway line and the parish boundary.

Footpath No. 2 (From Restricted Byway No. 12 to Restricted Byway No. 1). Starts from

the southern end of Restricted Byway No. 12 and runs south westwards to Clipstone

House, passing to the north of the buildings, and joining Restricted Byway No. 1.

Footpath No. 3 (New Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from New Road near the

western corner of Brown's Covert and runs north-eastwards to the parish boundary to

join Swanton Novers Bridleway No. 1

Restricted Byway No. 4 (Clarke's Lane). Starts from C318 North Lane, near the

School, and runs southwards, bearing eastwards to U14171 Heath Lane.

Footpath No. 5 (Thursford Road to Little Barney Lane). Starts from Thursford Road

near the Vicarage by a stile and runs eastwards to a kissing gate leading to Little

Barney Lane.

Footpath No. 6 (Thursford Road to Fakenham - Holt Road). Starts from the Thursford

Road by a kissing gate north of St. Mary's Church and runs north-westwards through

Barney Wood, passing through Wood House Farm, to the parish boundary where it

joins Thursford Footpath No. 7.

Footpath No. 7 (Clarke's Lane to Thursford Church). Starts from Clark's Lane at its

junction with Restricted Byway No. 9 by a kissing gate and runs south eastwards

across Thursford park to St. Andrew's Church.

Restricted Byway No. 8 (Love Lane). Starts from the Fakenham-Holt Road at the north

east corner of Brookhill Plantation and runs northwards along the western side of Lawn

Plantation and Thursford Park to Clarke's Lane.

Restricted Byway No. 9 (Little Barney Lane to Praish Boundary). Starts from Little

Barney Lane, south of the Brick and Tile Works and runs eastwards to the parish

boundary where it joins Swanton Novers Restricted Byway No. 4 at the southern

corner of Heyson's Oaks.

Footpath No. 10 (Sandy Lane to Fulmodestone-Kettlestone Road). Starts from Sandy

Lane and runs south-westwards crossing the River Stiffkey by a ford, and continues

to the Fulmodestone-Kettlestone Road opposite the northern end of Restricted Byway

No. 1.

Restricted Byway No. 11 (Restricted Byway - Back Lane to Footpath No. 2). Starts

from Beck Lane, just north of St. John the Baptist's Chapel, and runs southwards, then

westwards, to the north-eastern end of Footpath No. 2.

PARISH OF GIMINGHAM

Footpath No. 6 (Heath Lane to Parish Boundary). Starts from Heath Lane and runs

northwards to The Grove Path then continues north-eastwards over railway line to

parish boundary where it enters the Trimingham/Southrepps Road.

Footpath No. 7 (Heath Lane to Southrepps/Mundesley Road). Starts from Heath Lane

and runs southwards past Gimingham Hall to enter the Southrepps/Mundesley Road.

Footpath No. 8 - (Corn Mill to Parish Boundary). Starts from road by Corn Mill and runs

eastwards to parish boundary where it joins Footpath No. 9 of Mundesley.

Footpath No. 9 - (Southrepps/Mundesley Road to Southrepps/Trunch Road). Starts

from Southrepps/Mundesley Road and runs south-westwards to enter the

Southrepps/Trunch Road.

Restricted Byway No. 12 - (Cliff Wall). Starts from Trimingham boundary and runs

south-wards along cliff top to parish boundary where it joins Mundesley F.P. 23.

Bridleway No. 14 (Trunch Road to Southrepps Road) Starts on the Trunch Road at

TG27323595 and runs in a generally north-easterly direction along a track for 280

metres, to TG 27453619 where it meets the Southrepps Road. This bridleway at a

width not less than 3 metres. September 2001

Footpath No. 15 (Southrepps Road) Starts at the Southrepps Road at TG 27453619

and runs along the northern field edge of OS Field No's 4400 and 6700 for

approximately 285 metres to TG 27723609 where it meets the Southrepps Road

opposite the southern end of Gimingham Footpath No. 7. This footpath at a width not

less than 3 metres. September 2001

Bridleway No. 16 (Southrepps Road to Trunch Road) Starts at TG 27833605 on the

Southrepps Road and runs generally southwards for approximately 390 metres

along a track to TG 27793567 on the Trunch Road. This bridleway at a width not

less than 3 metres. September 2001.

Byway Open to All Traffic No.17 (Trunch BOAT No. 14 to Mundesley BOAT No. 24) -

The route follows a well defined tarmac track starting at the parish boundary at grid

reference TG 2965 3642 at the driveway to the old Mundesley Hospital. It runs in an

east south easterly direction with a width of 3.3 metres for a distance of 105 metres to

grid reference TG 2975 3638. The route then follows the bend and continues in an

almost northerly direction with a width of 3.4 metres for 150 metres to meet a bend at

grid reference TG 2979 3652 and then follows the bend with a width of 3.2 metres to

run in an easterly direction for 75 metres to grid reference TG 2987 3652. The route

then crosses the golf course in a general east north-easterly direction and at a width

of 3.2 metres for a distance of 40 metres to grid reference TG 2991 3653, and then at

a width of 3 metres for 57 metres to grid reference TG 2996 3653 and then at a width

of 3.5 metres for 52 metres to grid reference TG 3001 3654 at the parish boundary.

Restricted Byway No. 1 (Mill Road to West Wood Lane). Starts from Mill Road,

opposite Mill Farm, and runs south-westwards, crossing the railway line by field gates,

to join West Wood Lane south-east of West Wood Farm.

Restricted Byway No. 4 (Highfield Farm to Starmoor Wood). Starts approximately 570

yards south-east of Highfield Farm and runs north westwards through Starmoor Wood

(to Great Ryburgh Common).

Restricted Byway No. 6 (West Wood Lane). Starts from the Fakenham Road and

runs southwards to the east of West Wood Farm, turning eastwards to the junction of

Restricted Byway No.1, then runs south-eastwards to the parish boundary. There is

Snoring - Thursford Road at Manor Farm and runs northwards to a stile at the parish

an iron kissing gate opposite Church Plantation and runs northwards to small iron gate

yards parallel to St. Peter's Churchyard to St. Peter's Road leading to Barry Hall.

Bridleway No. 4 (Sash Hire Lane). Starts from Old Wells Road at the parish boundary

and runs westwards along the boundary for 600 yards to fields.

Bridleway No. 5 (Greenway to Fields). Starts from Greenway just east of the junction

with Old Wells Road and runs northwards turns westwards, then runs northwards

again for 200 yards to fields.

Bridleway No. 6 (Scarborough Road to Folgate Lane). Starts from Scarborough Road

opposite the Three Tuns public house and runs south-eastwards to Folgate Lane.

Bridleway No. 8 (Hindringham Road to fields). Starts from the Hindringham Road and

southwards and then south westwards to and as a cul-de-sac.

Bridleway No. 6 (Heath Road). Starts from near the north-eastern corner of Pond

Plantation and runs south-eastwards, then south-westwards to the parish boundary

Footpath No. 7 (Bale Road to Hall Farm). Starts from the Bale Road west of St. Mary's

Church, by a kissing gate and runs westwards to join Bridleway No. 1, by a kissing

south western end of Bridleway No. 1 and runs westwards over a field to a stile and

Common Road opposite Church Plantation and runs south westwards past St.

Bartholomew's Church and then bears southwards to join the north western end of

Footpath No. 5 (Parish Boundary to Norwich-Cromer Road). Starts from Alby

Footpath No. 13 TG2057/3599 and runs in an easterly direction to enter the Norwich-

immediately to the east of the Rectory and runs southwards, then south westwards for

a short distance and then southwards again to the parish boundary where it joins Alby

Footpath No. 7 (Hanworth Cross to Parish Boundary). Starts from Cromer Road to

Hanworth Cross and runs eastwards to the parish boundary where it joins Thorpe

Market Footpath No. 3 at the south east corner of Old John's Wood.

PARISH OF HAPPISBURGH

Footpath No. 1 (Old Manor House to Parish Boundary). Starts from the junction of

roads at Manor Farm House, Walcott, and runs westwards to the parish boundary

where it joins Witton Footpath No. 1.

Footpath No. 2 (Coast Road to All Saints Church). Starts opposite the southern end

of Footpath No. 25 and runs in a southerly direction parallel to the B1159 Coast Road

and to the east of a field boundary bank and wall for a distance of approximately 215

metres to the boundary fence of The Lighthouse Inn. The path continues to run in a

southerly direction over the forecourt of The Lighthouse Inn to the east of the highway

boundary and over the adjoining arable field parallel to the B1159 Coast Road and to

the east of the field boundary bank for approximately 285 metres to the north-west

corner of the churchyard wall of All Saints Church. This path at a width of 2 metres.

Footpath No. 3 (All Saints Church to Restricted Byway4). Starts from the western sides

of All Saints Church and runs eastwards south of the Church to join Footpath No. 2.

The path continues eastwards through the churchyard, at the boundary of which there

is a stile, and on to join Restricted Byway No. 4 at a fieldgate.

Restricted Byway No. 4 (Chimney Farm to Footpath No. 3). Starts from Ostend Road

north west of Chimney Farm House, and runs westwards to join Footpath No. 3 at a

fieldgate.

Footpath No. 5 (Coast Road to Ostend Road). Starts at the B1159 Coast Road and

runs along a track in an easterly direction parallel to the drainage ditch for

approximately 392 metres and then turns to run along the track in a northerly direction

for approximately 75 metres to meet with Ostend Road. This path at a width of 2

metres. October 2000

Footpath No. 6 (Ostend Road to Church Farm). Starts from Ostend Road and runs

along the track towards the radio masts in an easterly direction for approximately 230

metres to the end of the track. The width of the path is 3 metres up to this point. The

path continues at a width of 1 metre and turns to run in a southerly direction over an

arable field for approximately 75 metres to a gap in the corner of the field boundary

bank. The path now continues at a width of 1.5 metres in a south-easterly direction

parallel to and to the south of the field boundary bank for approximately 742 metres to

its junction with a track leading to disused building on the cliff top. From this point

onwards the path is at a width of 3 metres and runs along a track in mainly a southerly

direction for approximately 395 metres passing “High House” to terminate at the road

junction near Church Farm. October 2000

Footpath No. 7 (Walcott Hall to Grub Street). Starts from the junction at Walcott Hall

Farm Buildings by a stile and runs eastwards alongside fence for two fields to stile at

Grub Street near Gold's Farm.

Footpath No. 8 (Grub Street to Whimpwell Street). Starts from Grub Street just north

of farm buildings and runs eastwards to Whimpwell Street.

Footpath No. 9 (North Walsham Road to Footpath No. 8). Starts from the North

Walsham Road at TG 3780/3101 and runs in a south easterly direction to the west of

and parallel to the hedge marking the field boundary for approximately 350 metres to

junction with Footpath No. 8. This path at a width of 2 metres. October 2000

Footpath No. 10 (Lantern Lane to Footpath No. 8) Starts from a point about half-way

along Lantern Lane and runs northwards to Footpath No. 8.

Footpath No. 11 (Coastguard Station to Hill House Hotel). Starts from near the

Coastguard Station and runs mainly north westwards to join Restricted Byway No. 12

at its western end, near Hill House Hotel.

Restricted Byway No. 12 (Hill House Hotel to Beach). Starts south-east of Hill House

Hotel and runs eastwards to the beach.

Footpath No. 13 (Grub Street to Parish Boundary). Starts from Grub Stret, north of

Happisburgh Hall and runs westwards to the parish boundary where it joins East

Ruston Footpath No. 30.

Footpath No. 14 (East Ruston Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from the East Ruston

Road, north of private lane leading to Walcott House, and runs west-wards to the

parish boundary where it joins Witton Footpath No. 4.

Footpath No. 15 (Grub Street to Stalham Road). Starts from Grub Street immediately

north of Happisburgh Hall Farm buildings and runs eastwards to Stalham Road.

Footpath No 16 (Grubb Street to Parish Boundary) Starts from off Grubb Street at

approximately TG 3734/2900 via a ditch crossover in a south westerly direction along

the south easterly side of the field boundary bank and the north westerly side of

outbuildings for approximately 53 metres. Up to this point the path is at a width of 1.5

metres. The path then runs in a westerly direction for approximately 12 metres and

then turns to follow the parish boundary northwards, finally crossing the boundary,

west of Gladhern, to join East Ruston Footpath No 18. June 2001

Footpath No. 17 (Common Road to Moat Farm Cottages, Green Lane). Starts from

Common Road by a stile and runs eastwards passing two stiles, to join Green Lane

by a fourth stile, north of Moat Farm.

Footpath No. 18 (Green Lane to Parish Boundary). Starts from Green Lane, south-

east of the Beeches, and runs south-eastwards to the parish boundary, where it joins

Lessingham Footpath No. 1.

Footpath No. 19 (Parish Boundary to Parish Boundary). Starts from parish boundary

at the eastern end of East Ruston Footpath No. 34 and runs southwards for

approximately 52 metres at a path width of 1.5 metres. From this point onwards the

path width is not determined and the path continues running south to join Whincraft

Lane.The path continues along this lane to the parish boundary. October 2000

Footpath No. 20 (Whincraft Lane to Parish Boundary). Starts from Whincraft Lane at

TG 3739/2812 and runs in an easterly direction for approximately 300 metres to the

parish boundary with Lessingham. This path at a width of 1 metre. October 2000

Footpath No. 21 (Whincraft Lane to Parish Boundary). Starts from Whincraft Lane at

TG 3738/2805 and runs in an westerly direction across the field and over the

north/south track leading to Brumstead House Farm for approximately 412 metres to

the parish boundary where it joins East Ruston Footpath No. 29. This path at a width

of 1.5 metres. October 2000

Restricted Byway No. 22 (Green Lane to Beach). Along Upton Way, turns north and

then east to the beach.

Bridleway No. 23 ( East Ruston Bridleway No. 33 to Grub Street). Starts at the eastern

end of East Ruston Bridleway No. 33 and runs in a generally east north-easterly

direction along a crossfield track for a distance of approximately 182 metres to the

junction with Grub Street, Happisburgh. This path at a minimum width of 3.0 metres.

Footpath No. 24 (Coastal Path). Starts from TG 3694/3212 at the end of the track

adjacent to the radio masts and runs in a northerly direction parallel to and to the east

of the field boundary bank for approximately 110 metres to the cliff top. This section

of path at a width of 1.5 metres. From this point onwards the width of the path will be

2 metres and the path runs along the cliff top in a south-easterly direction for a distance

of approximately 1,390 metres to a gap in the fence allowing access into a caravan

park. The path continues in a south-easterly direction for approximately 440 metres

to the Inland Rescue Boat Station at Beach Road. October 2000

Footpath No. 25 (B1159 Coast Road). Starts from near the eastern end of Footpath

No. 1 and runs in a southerly direction parallel to the B1159 Coast Road and to the

west of the field boundary bank for approximately 320 metres to TG 3595/3225. This

path is at a width of 2 metres. October 2000

Footpath No. 26 (Stalham Road to East Ruston Footpath No. 34). Starts at the

Stalham Road, opposite Grubb Street and runs southwards to join the eastern end of

Footpath No. 34. October 2000

Footpath No. 1 (All Saint's Church to Helhoughton-Fakenham Road). Starts opposite

All Saint's Church and runs north-eastwards to concrete bridge over the River at Park

Farm where it joins the Helhoughton-Fakenham Road.

Footpath No. 2 (Park Lane to Parish Boundary). Starts from the southern end of Park

Lane and runs southwards to the parish boundary where it joins Raynham Footpath

No. 10.

Footpath No. 3 (Park Lane to Footpath No. 6). Starts from Park Lane and runs south

eastwards to the parish boundary where it joins Footpath No. 6 at the boundary of

Engine Carr Wood.

Footpath No. 4 (Park Lane to Footpath No. 6). Starts from the southern end of Park

Lane and runs south eastwards to join Footpath No. 6 at the parish boundary.

Footpath No. 5 (Helhoughton-Tatterford Road to Turf Moor). Starts from the

Helhoughton-Tatterford Road, at the north east corner of Gravelpit Plantation, and

runs westwards to Turf Moor.

Footpath No. 6 (Helhoughton-Raynham Rod to Parish Boundary). Starts from the

Helhoughton-Raynham Road at the parish boundary, and runs eastwards round the

northern boundary of Round Plantation and then along the parish boundary to the

south-eastern corner of the parish where it joins Raynham Footpath No. 4).

Restricted Byway No. 7 (Park Lane). Starts from the Helhoughton-Fakenham Road,

south east of all Saint's Church, and runs southwards to Footpath No. 2 and Footpath

No. 4.

PARISH OF HEMPSTEAD

Footpath No. 1 (Holt Road to Bodham Road). Starts at the northern end of Footpath

No. 6 in an easterly direction along the field edge on the north side of the C300 Road

for a distance of approximately 304 metres to the hedge and continues in a northerly

direction parallel with and to the west of the field boundary hedge for a distance of

approximately 508 metres to the junction with Footpath No. 8. The footpath to this

point is at a width of 1.5 metres. Proceeds in an easterly direction following the field

edge to the western end of Footpath No. 8 and then in a generally northerly direction

to map reference TG 1087 3835, then in a north-westerly direction along the eastern

boundary of Upper Fir Covert and finally junctions with Bodham Road.

Footpath No. 2 (Holt Road to Bodham Road). Starts from the Holt Road and runs north

eastwards to enter the Bodham Road south west of Red House.

Footpath No 3 (All Saints Church to Holt Road) Starts from the village Street by All

Saints Church at map reference TG1050 3702 and runs in a south-westerly and

westerly direction for a distance of approximately 75 metres adjacent to the south-east

and south boundary of the churchyard to map reference TG1043 3700 at the western

boundary of the churchyard and then in a northerly direction for approximately 15

metres to map reference TG1043 3702 and then in a north-westerly direction for

approximately 85 metres to map reference TG1036 3705 then in a north north-easterly

direction for approximately 60 metres to map reference TG1037 3711 and then in a

metres and then northwards over bridge to map reference TG1034 3711 then south-

westerly along the northern bank of the stream for a distance of approximately 35

metres to map reference TG1030 3710 and then north-westwards along the northern

bank of a stream for approximately 25 metres and then continues still along the

northern bank of a stream in a north-westwards direction for approximately 270 metres

to map reference TG1005 3723 when it continues westwards again to join the southern

end of FP.4. The path then continues westwards through Hempstead Hall farmyard

and then bears north-westwards and the northwards to enter the Holt Road. October

Footpath No. 4 (Holt Road to Footpath No. 3). Starts from the Holt Road and runs

southwards along the western edge of Hempstead Green to join Footpath No. 3 near

Hempstead Hall Cottages.

Footpath No. 5 (Church Farm to Parish Boundary). Starts from the Village Street at

Church Farm and runs westwards to Mill House Lane. The path continues along this

lane through Twenty Acre Hill Plantation and then bears southwards then westwards

and then southwards again to Mill House. The path then bears north westwards to the

parish boundary where it joins Edgefield Footpath No. 4.

Footpath No. 6 (Holt Road to the Smithy). Starts from the Holt Road west of the

southern end of Footpath No. 1 and runs south south-eastwards bearing southwards

to enter the road leading to Hempstead Green near the Smithy.

Footpath No. 7 (Field Lane to Hempstead - Plumstead Road). Starts from Field Lane

opposite new Council Houses and runs southwards to enter the Hempstead-

Plumstead Road.

Footpath No. 8 (Footpath No. 1 to Footpath No. 9). Starts from Footpath No. 1 north

west of Five Acre Plantation and runs east south-eastwards to join Footpath No. 9

immediately to the south of Hempstead House (Becketts Farm).

Footpath No. 9 (Becketts Farm to Holt Road). Starts at the south eastern corner of

Becketts Farm farmyard and the eastern end of Footpath No. 8 and runs south south-

westwards to the east of Five Acre Plantation to enter Holt Road. October 2000

Footpath No. 10 (Back Lane to Edgefield - Baconsthorpe Road). Starts from Back

Lane and runs eastwards then southwards for a short distance and then eastwards

again to enter the Edgefield - Baconsthorpe Road at the parish boundary opposite the

northern end of Slushy Lane (Restricted Byway No. 12).

Bridleway No. 11 (Holt Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from the Holt Road at

TG 1142/3719 and runs in an east south-easterly direction along a field boundary for

approximately 120 metres and then in a southerly direction for approximately 150

metres. The path up to this point is at a width of 3.5 metres. The path then turns in a

south easterly direction where it joins Baconsthorpe Bridleway No. 5. October 2000

Restricted Byway No. 12 (Slushy Lane). Starts from the Edgefield - Baconsthorpe

Road and runs southwards along the parish boundary to enter the Edgefield -

Plumstead Road east of Hole Farm.

Footpath No. 13 (Alongside Selbrigg Pond). This path runs along the top of the earth

bank which forms part of the dam holding water in Selbrigg Pond.

Footpath No. 14 (Bridleway No. 11 to Hempstead Road). Starts from TG 1154/3716

at a junction with Bridleway No. 11 and runs northerly to the east of and parallel to the

hedge marking the boundary between the Hare and Hounds Public House and the

field, for a distance of approximately 54 metres to junction with the Hempstead Road.

Bridleway No. 15 (Holt Road to Chapel Lane) Starts from the Holt Road at the north

western end of Hempstead BR11 at map reference TG1142 3719 and runs in a

westerly direction for approximately 217 metres following the southern side of the

roadside bank to map reference TG1121 3720. The route then continues to run in a

generally westerly direction along the edge of woodland for 70 metres to map

reference TG1114 3720 and then turns to run generally west-south-westerly for 58

metres still along the edge of woodland to enter onto Chapel Lane at map reference

TG1109 3718. The width of the route is 3.5 metres and the surface is mainly grass.

Shereford Road, west of St. Andrew's Church and runs southwards to the parish

boundary where it joins Dunton Footpath No. 4.

Footpath No. 2 (Bell Inn to Mill Road). Starts from a point near the Bell Inn and runs

westwards for approximately 300 yards to the rear of cottages at Mill Road.

Restricted Byway No. 3 (Bell Inn to Old Buck Inn). Starts from a point 50 yards south

of the Bell Inn and runs westwards past the Vicarage to the road junction at the Old

Buck Inn.

Footpath No. 4 (From Restricted Byway 3 to the Raynham Road). Starts from

Restricted Byway No. 3 and runs south-westwards passing the south eastern corner

of the Vicarage to the Raynham Road.

Footpath No. 5 (From Footpath No. 4 to the Raynham Road). Starts from Footpath

No. 4 and runs south westwards to the Raynham Road.

Footpath No. 6 (Fakenham-Swaffham Road to the Raynham Road). Starts from the

Fakenham-Swaffham Road and runs south westwards for 450 yards to the northern

boundary of the East View Housing Estate on the Raynham Road.

Restricted Byway No. 7 ( Fakenham-Swaffham Road to the Raynham Road). Starts

from the Fakenham-Swaffham Road and runs westwards for 230 yards to the

Raynham Road.

Restricted Byway No. 8 (Fakenham-Swaffham Road to Raynham Road). Starts from

the Fakenham-Swaffham Road and runs eastwards for 35 yards to the Raynham Road

at the southern end of the East View Council Housing Estate.

Footpath No. 9 (Abbey Farm to Fields). Starts opposite Abbey Farm and runs south

westwards for 375 yards to give access to fields.

Footpath No. 10 (From Footpath No. 9 to Footpath No. 14). Starts from Footpath No.

9 and runs southwards to the southern end of Footpath No. 14.

Footpath No. 11 (From Footpath No. 9 to Footpath No. 14). Starts from Footpath No.

9 at the junction of Footpath No. 10 and runs eastwards to join Footpath No. 14.

Footpath No. 12 (Fakenham-Swaffham Road to Footpath No. 9). Starts from the

Fakenham-Swaffham Road opposite Restricted Byway No. 7 and runs south

eastwards to Footpath No. 9.

Footpath No. 13 (Abbey Farm Roadway to Footpath No. 9). Starts from the roadway

from the Fakenham-Swaffham Road to Abbey Farm and runs south eastwards to

Footpath No. 9.

Footpath No. 14 (East Dereham Road to Footpath No. 10). Starts from the East

Dereham Road and runs south-westwards through The Valley (old gravel pits) for 350

yards to the southern end of Footpath No. 10.

Footpath No. 15 (East Dereham to Footpath No. 9). Starts from the East Dereham

Road at the parish boundary and runs westwards to Footpath No. 14, then bears

northwards to join Footpath No. 9 near St. Stephen's Priory.

Footpath No. 16 (Old Railway Station to Fields). Starting at a point to the east of the

former Fakenham Town Railway Station and running in a north westerly direction to

the north eastern corner of Ordnance Survey Parcel No. 25 where it turns, and follows

the field boundary, running south westerly for a short distance, a total distance of

approximately 260 metres.

Footpath No.17 (Mill Road to Footpath No. 16). Starts from the eastern side of Mill

Road on the southern bank of the River Wensum, and then runs in a generally south-

easterly direction for approximately 230 metres along the north-eastern side of

Hempton Common, comprising O.S. Parcel No. 4557 to join up with the northern end

of Hempton Footpath No. 16. The width of the path will be not less than 3 metres.

notices are displayed stating "Beware of Trains" to enter the Guestwick Road by a

Footpath No. 4 (Loop path of Footpath No. 3). Starts from Footpath No. 3 at the

boundary of the first field and rejoins Footpath No. 3 half way across next field.

Footpath No. 5 (Loop path of Footpath No. 3). Branches from Footpath No. 3 at the

eastern side of the railway line and runs south eastwards joining Footpath No. 3 at

Guestwick Road.

Byway Open to All Traffic No. 9 (The Dyes). Starts from the Hindolveston Road at the

eastern side of the railway line and runs northwards, bearing north eastwards, to join

Footpath No. 1.

Bridleway No. 10 (Green Lane). Starts from the Hindolveston-Thurning Road and runs

northwards to The Dyes.

Restricted Byway No. 11 (Church Lane (part) to Fulmodeston Road)Starts at grid

reference TG 0278 2917 and runs for 150 metres to TG 0264 2924 as a 3 metre wide

rough unmade track running between boundaries that vary in width between 9 metres

and 16.5 metres. The route continues for a further 218 metres along a 3 metre wide

rough unmade track running between boundaries 10 metres apart. On the west side

the track is bounded by verge and hedges, and on the east side by verge and mature

trees. The unmade track then widens to 8 metres within boundaries 14 metres apart,

continuing for a distance of 32 metres to reach Fulmodeston Road at TG 0265 2947.

Restricted Byway No. 12 – (Church Lane (part) to Restricted Byway No. 11) Starts

from county road number 14112 (Church Lane), at grid reference TG 0293 2919 and

runs in a generally westerly direction following a rough track to meet with Hindolveston

Restricted Byway No. 11 at grid reference TG 0278 2917. The width of the route varies

between 10 and 12 metres between boundaries, with a usable width of 3 metres,

except at grid reference TG 0281 2917, where, for a length of 4 metres, the route

narrows to 8 metres between boundaries. August 2010

PARISH OF HINDRINGHAM

Footpath No. 1 (Coldham Road). Starts at a junction with Wells Road, and runs in a

mainly northerly direction to Hall Farm, a distance of approximately 530 metres. It then

runs eastwards through a farmyard, for approximately 110 metres. From there it turns

northwards through a gate 3.3 metres wide and enters the grounds of Hindringham

Hall, turning eastwards and running along Hindringham Hall drive, passing through a

wooden gate 3.2 metres wide and continuing along the drive to pass through the main

gates 3.3 metres wide and crossing the splayed entrance to join Blacksmiths Lane

opposite Blue Tile House, a distance of 210 metres.

Bridleway No. 2 (Blacksmith Road to Walsingham Road). Starts from Blacksmiths

Road, north of the Vicarage and runs northwards to Walsingham Road.

Footpath No. 3 (Crown Public House to Harvest Lane). Starts opposite the Crown

Public House by a field gate and runs southwards west of Strange Farm to Harvest

Lane.

Bridleway No. 4 (Ploughman's Lane). Starts from the Thursford Road, north of the

junction with Harvest Lane, and runs eastwards, then southwards to the parish

boundary and Frog Hall Lane.

Footpath No. 5 (Blacksmiths Lane to Wells Road). Starts from Blacksmith Lane by a

stile opposite the Smithy, and runs south westwards to a stile which leads to the Wells

Road.

Footpath No. 6 (Moorgate Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from Moorgate Road and

runs north eastwards along American Lane for a short distance then runs eastwards

to the parish boundary to join Field Dalling Restricted Byway No. 6 near Gaston's

Plantation.

PARISH OF HOLKHAM

Footpath No. 1 (Burnham Overy FP No. 12 to Wells-next-the-Sea FP No. 28)

Starts at the eastern end of Burnham Overy Footpath No. 12 at TF 8683 4577 and

runs south by east along the north lower edge of the dunes to the board walk at

TF 8900 4505, a distance of 2600 yards (2377 metres) and then east by south along

the board walk to Holkham gap at the northern extremity of Lady Ann’s Road a

distance of 250 yards (229 metres) then turning north east following the track south of

Holkham Meals Conifer Plantation to TF 9032 4557, the parish boundary with Wells-

next-the-Sea, a distance of 1699 yards (1553 metres). The path is 6 feet (1.83

metres) wide. (All distances are approximate). November 2008

PARISH OF HOLT

Footpath No. 4 (Kelling Road to Mill Street). This path starts from Kelling Road and

runs south westwards and then bears southwards to enter Mill Street near the Printing

Works.

Footpath No. 5 (New Street to Holt-Letheringsett Road). Starts from New Street

opposite the Corn Mill and runs west south-westwards for approximately 120 yards

and then bears south eastwards to enter the Holt-Letheringsett Road opposite the

main entrance to Spout Hills.

Footpath No. 6 (Footpath No. 5 to Letheringsett Hill) Starts from Footpath No. 5 and

runs south westwards along the south-eastern boundary of Pereer Wood to the north

east corner of the grounds of St Johns Cottage where it turns to run in a southerly

direction as a soil and gravel path. From this point onwards the path has a width of

approximately 2 metres with a pinch point of about 1.5 metres by the north east corner

of the cottage itself. The first approximately 10.5 metres of the path has a closeboard

fence to the west and woodland bank to the east, with the next 9 metres following the

wall of the cottage with the bank continuing on the east. At the end of the cottage

building the path follows an old flint wall to the west and a bank to the east for

approximately 5.5 metres. The path then crosses a hardened surface to join the

footway running beside the A148 Letheringsett Hill. April 2006

Footpath No. 7 (Spout Common). Starts from the Holt-Letheringsett Road

approximately 100 yards east of the Rectory and runs south eastwards across Spout

Common and then curves east north eastwards to re-enter the Holt-Letheringsett

Road near Gasworks.

Footpath No. 9 (Grove Lane to A148 (Holt Diversion)). Starts from Grove Lane and

runs eastwards for a short distance and then bears south south-eastwards as far as

the A148 (Holt Diversion) a distance of approximately 30 metres.

Footpath No. 9a (A148 (Holt Diversion) to Hempstead Road)). Starts at the A148,

opposite the end of Footpath No. 9 and runs in a south south-easterly direction to

Heath Farm. The path then bears south westwards to enter the Hempstead Road

opposite Mackey Hill Plantation, a distance of approximately 850 metres.

Footpath No. 10 (Dereham Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from the Dereham Road

and runs north westwards to join Letheringsett Footpath No. 3 at the parish boundary

at the south eastern corner of Common Hills Plantation.

Footpath No. 11 (Hempstead Road to Edgefield Road). Starts from Hempstead Road

and runs southwards then south-eastwards to the north eastern corner of Lowe's

Plantation where it joins Footpath No. 12. The path then runs south westwards along

the south eastern boundary of Lowe's Plantation to enter the Edgefield Road.

Footpath No. 12 (Holt Lowes). This path starts from Footpath No. 11 at the north

eastern corner of Lowe's Plantation and runs south eastwards across Holt Lowes.

Footpath No. 14 (Common Hills Plantation to Letheringsett Footpath No. 2). Starts

from Common Hills Plantation at Letheringsett Footpath No. 3 runs south south-

westwards crossing over railway at level crossing then bears north north-westward to

rejoin Letheringsett Footpath No. 2.

Footpath No. 15 (Holt Lodge to Footpath No. 11). Starts from the Edgefield Road just

south of Holt Lodge and runs in an easterly direction past Four Acre Plantation then

bears north-north eastward to join Footpath No. 11.

Footpath No. 16 (Footpath No. 15 Edgefield Road). Starts from Footpath No. 15 and

runs south eastwards across the Old Race Course turning south westerly to rejoin the

Edgefield Road.

Footpath No. 17 (Norwich Road to A148 (Holt Diversion)). Starts at the junction of the

Norwich Road with the stopped up B1110, and follows the line of the B1110,

westwards, to its intersection with the A148 (Holt Diversion) a distance of

approximately 150 metres.

Footpath No. 18 (Norwich Road across the junction with the A148 (Holt Diversion)

and along A148 (Holt Diversion) (part subway)). Starts 10 metres south of the southern

gateway to Holt County Primary School on Norwich Road running southwards for 30

metres then via a subway (under the A148) south westwards for approximately 47

metres, then southwards, and eastwards, easterly along the A148 for a distance of 50

metres, where it joins a footway, and southerly for a distance of 68 metres where it

joins the Norwich Road (B1149).

Footpath No. 19 (Station Road to Hempstead Road). Starting on the south west

boundary of Station Road 60 metres south east of the junction with Kerridge Road,

running south eastwards for 45 metres, then via a subway under the A148 (Holt

Diversion) then on the surface, on the southwest boundary of the Hempstead Road

to a point 40 metres northwest of its junction with Coronation Road.

Footpath No. 20 (Hempstead Road to A148 (Holt Diversion)). Starting on the south

west boundary of the Hempstead Road 40 metres north west of its junction with

Coronation Road north westwards for a distance of 58 metres to its junction with thhe

A148 (Holt Diversion).

Footpath No. 21 (North side of A148 to the middle of the old A148). Starting from a

point 24 metres north east of the entrance to Kelling Hospital, south westwards for 34

metres, to the middle of the old A148.

Restricted Byway No.22 (Candlestick Lane) Starts from the B1110 (Thornage Road)

at grid reference TG 0729 3797 and runs in an easterly direction, following an unmade

track for approximately 550 metres to meet with the B1149 (Norwich Road) at grid

reference TG 0784 3795. The first 120 metres varies between 6 and 7 metres in width

between boundaries. The next 430 metres varies between 7 and 8 metres in width

between boundaries. March 2011

Footpath No.23 (Valley Lane to Spout Hills) A public footpath in the Parish of Holt

starting from the end of the publicly maintainable highway known as Valley Lane at

grid reference TG 0763 3839 with a width of 2.5 metres running for 275 metres in a

westerly direction, along the former railway track bed at a width of 2.5 metres to grid

reference TG 0733 3839 to the bottom of the steps to Spout Hills. The path then turns

to run up the existing steps which have a width of 1 metre, in a generally northerly

direction for 13.5 metres to reach grid reference TG 0734 3841 at Spout Hills

registered Common Land/Open Access Land. July 2013

Footpath No. 24 (Valley Lane to B1150 Thornage Road ) Starts at Valley Road at

map reference TG0763 3840 as a grass and earth track with a width of 3 metres and

runs for a distance of 11 metres to map reference TG0763 3839. At this point the path

reduces to 1.5 metres for 10 metres to map reference TG0762 3838 as it crosses the

former railway track bed but increases in width to approximately 7 metres for a further

10 metres to map reference TG0762 3838. It then continues in a generally southerly

direction with a width of 1.5 metres for approximately 17 metres to map reference

TG0761 3836 when it widens again to 2 metres and runs for approximately 22 metres

to meet the B1150 Thornage Road at map reference TG0760 3834. The total length

of the route is 67 metres. The width of the path is reduced to 1 metre at map reference

TG0761 3836 due to the location of an electricity pole. June 2014

Restricted Byway No. 25 (Thornage Road/Riverside Road to field boundary) Starts at

the junction of the U14421 Thornage Road and U14421 Riverside Road, Thornage at

map reference TG0609 3833 and runs in a south westerly direction for a distance of

174 metres to map reference TG0599 3819 and then runs in a southerly direction for

290 metres where it terminates at a field boundary at map reference TG0597 3790.

The width of the route lies between boundary features and varies between 4 metres

and 6.5 metres. The length of the route is approximately 464 metres. July 2016

Footpath No. 1 (Crostwight Common Road to Church). Starts at the junction of the

Street and Crostwight Common Road and runs northwards to the southern corner of

St. Peter and St. Paul's Churchyard.

Footpath No 3 (Howards Hill Road to Honing Long Lane) Starts from Howards Hill

Road opposite the eastern end of Footpath No 6 and runs in an easterly direction for

approximately 210 metres and then in a northerly direction for approximately

145 metres. From this point the path turns to run easterly for approximately

310 metres before turning to run north easterly for 190 metres to the junction with

Crostwight Road at grid reference TG 3346 2825 and runs in a generally westerly

Footpath No. 6 (Witton - North Walsham Road to Howard's Hill Road). Starts from the

Witton - North Walsham Road by a stile south of Footpath No. 3, and runs westwards

to join Howard's Hill Road at a field-gate.

Footpath No. 7 (Howard's Hill Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from Howard's Hill

Road and runs northwards to the parish boundary.

Footpath No. 10 (Honing Common Road to East Ruston Road). Starts by a stile from

the Honing Common Road and runs north-eastwards to join the East Ruston Road by

a stile northwest of The Sloughs.

Footpath No. 11 (Long Lane). Starts from Long Lane by a stile east of the Church and

runs eastwards.

Footpath No. 12 (Crostwight Common Road). Starts from Crostwight Common Road

by a stile and runs westwards.

Footpath No. 13 (Honing Common Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from Honing

Common Road by a kissing gate at the railway line and crosses the railway line,

following the parish boundary and crossing the North Walsham and Dilham Canal by

a footbridge to lead to the parish boundary and Dilham Lake.

Footpath No. 14 (Honing Common Road to Footpath No. 15). Starts from Honing

Common Road and runs north-eastwards then south-eastwards crossing the railway,

where there are field gates, to join Footpath No. 15.

Footpath No. 15 (Parish Boundary to Footpath No. 14). Starts at the parish boundary

at grid reference TG 3436 2722 with a width of 3 metres and runs in a westerly direction

for approximately 5 metres to grid reference TG 3435 2722 where the path turns to

head in a generally south south easterly direction with a width of 2 metres for

approximately 65 metres to grid reference TG 3438 2717 where the path turns to run

westwards across Honing Common to meet Footpath No. 14 just south of the railway

line.

Footpath No. 18 (Crostwight Common Road to Crostwight Heath Road). Starts from

Crostwight Common Road, at the north east corner of Crostwight Common, and runs

northwards to Crostwight Heath Road.

Footpath No. 19 (Crostwight Heath Road to Long Lane). Starts from Crostwight Heath

Road, opposite Footpath No. 18 and runs northwards to the south west corner of All

Saints Church, then westwards to Long Lane.

Footpath No. 20 (Road between The Avenues and Crostwight Heath Road to Footpath

No. 19). Starts from the road between the Avenues and Crostwight Heath Road and

runs westwards to All Saints Church, through the churchyard to the south of the

Church to join Footpath No. 19.

Restricted Byway No. 21 (Crostwight Heath Road to Ridlington Street). Starts from

Crostwight Heath Road, east of Bransmeadow Carr, and runs north eastwards across

the Heath to the parish boundary where it joins Ridlington Street.

Footpath No. 22 (Footpath No. 13 to Parish Boundary). Starts from Footpath No. 13

at its junction with the North Walsham and Dilham Canal, and runs south eastwards

along the western bank of the canal to the parish boundary where it joins Dilham

Footpath No. 7.

Footpath No. 23 (The Avenues to Parish Boundary). Starts from the Avenues and runs

north eastwards to the parish boundary where it joins Witton Footpath No. 7.

Footpath No 24 (Honing Long Lane to Honing Footpath No 5) Starts at Honing Long

Lane at the northern end of Footpath No 3 and runs in an easterly direction for

approximately 310 metres to join up with the western end of Footpath No 5.

Restricted Byway No. 4 (Lower Street to Lower Street). Starts from Lower Street at

Swan Inn and runs southwards returning to Lower Street.

Restricted Byway No. 4a (Mission Room Lane). Starts from Lower Street by Village

Green and runs west to Restricted Byway4.

Restricted Byway No. 4b (Malthouse Site Lane). Starts from Lower Street by Village

Green and runs west to Restricted Byway4.

Footpath No. 6 (Kimberley Terrace to Lower Street). Starts from Kimberley Terrace at

the corner of the Recreation Ground and runs southwards by steps to Lower Street).

Footpath No. 7 (Millhouse Lane). Starts from Lower Street and runs south westwards

to the River).

Footpath No. 8 (Footpath No. 6 to The Avenue) Starts from the northern end Footpath

No. 6 and runs south east for approximately 80 metres and then in a south south-

easterly direction to join The Avenue.

Restricted Byway No. 9 (The Avenue). Starts from B1354 road and runs southwards

to junction with the eastern end of Footpath No. 10. October 2000

Footpath No. 10 (Yarmouth Road to Restricted Byway No. 9). Starts from Yarmouth

Road (B1354) east of the Tithe Barn and runs westwards to TG 3468/1747. From this

point onwards the path is at a width of 1 metre and runs north-westerly for 108 metres.

After this point the width of the path is not determined. The path then runs in a

generally southerly direction to TG 3453/1744 and then westerly to the rear

boundaries of 19 and 21 The Avenues. October 2000

Footpath No. 11 (Lower Street to The Avenue). Starts from Lower Street, passing to

the east of Cedar Close, and continues north to the Avenue.

Footpath No. 12 (Yarmouth Road to Irstead Road). Starts from the Yarmouth Road

west of the Grove and runs northwards to Irstead Road east of Neatishead Lodge.

Footpath No. 13 (Yarmouth Road to Irstead Road). Starts from the Yarmouth Road,

south-east of the Grove, and runs northwards to the parish boundary where it joins

Barton Turf Footpath No. 9. It then bears north-westwards past Baxter's Carr to the

Irstead Road south of Neatishead Hall.

Footpath No. 14 (Yarmouth Road to Cross-roads). Starts from Yarmouth Road by a

stile south of The Grove and runs south-westwards to cross-roads leading to the

Church.

Footpath No. 15 (Upper Street to Church). Starts from the southern end of Upper

Street and runs westwards to the north of St. Benedict's Church.

Restricted Byway No. 16 (Ferry Road). Starts from the road leading to the School and

runs southwards to Horning Ferry.

Byway Open to All Traffic No. 17 (Staithe Lane). Starts from Butts Hill and runs

southwards to Upper Staithe. April 2005

Restricted Byway No. 18 (Butts Hill to Horning Hall). Starts from Butts Hill and runs

eastwards to Horning Hall.

Restricted Byway No. 19 (St. Benedict's Abbey to Parish Boundary). Starts from the

joins U19242.

Restricted Byway No. 20 A restricted byway in the parish of Horning starting from

grid reference TG367169 on public highway A1062 Norwich Road and running in a

southerly direction along a concrete roadway for a distance of 510 metres to Hall Farm

Cottages at grid reference TG370164 to meet with Horning Restricted Byway No.18.

PARISH OF HORSEY

Footpath No. 1 (Yarmouth Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from Yarmouth Road

(B1159) north of Draining Pump and runs westwards along the northern bank of

Horsey Mere. It then turns northwards along the eastern bank of the New Cut to the

parish boundary where it joins Sea Palling Footpath No. 8.

Footpath No. 2 (Footpath No. 3 to Parish Boundary). Starts from F.P.3 west of Delph

Farm and runs westwards to Horsey Corner, past the Methodist Chapel, and on to the

parish boundary where it joins Seal Palling Footpath No. 8.

Footpath No. 3 (Coast Road to All Saints Church). Starts from the Coast Road (B1159)

at a point northwest of Delph Farm and runs southwards joining Footpath No. 2 and

on to All Saints Church.

Footpath No. 4 (Little Waxham Warren). Starts from road leading from Nelson's Head

Public House and runs north-eastwards across Little Waxham Warren to the beach to

join Footpath No. 5.

Footpath No. 5 (Footpath No. 6 to Parish Boundary). Starts from Footpath No. 6 at

Horsey Gap and runs south eastwards along the back of the sandhills to the parish

boundary.

Footpath No. 6 (Beach Road to Restricted Byway No. 7) Starts from the eastern end

of the road to the beach and runs north eastwards to join Restricted Byway No. 7 at

Restricted Byway No. 7 (Footpath No. 6 to Footpath No. 5 and Restricted Byway No.

8) Starts from the north eastern end of Footpath No. 6 at the entrance to the car park

at grid reference TG 46366 24120 and runs in a generally north easterly direction for

approximately 45 metres where it meets Footpath No. 5 and Restricted Byway No. 8

at grid reference TG 46395 24153. The width of the route is 9.1 metres. May 2017

Restricted Byway No. 8 (Restricted Byway No. 7 to beach) Starts from the north

eastern end of Restricted Byway No. 7 at grid reference TG46395 24153 and runs in

a generally north easterly direction for approximately 150 metres to reach the beach

at TG 46502 24256. The width of the route is 9.1 metres. May 2017

PARISH OF HOVETON

Footpath No. 1 (Granary Staithe to River). Starts from Norwich Road at parish

boundary and runs over Granary Staithe to the River Bure.

Footpath No. 2 (Stalham Road to Tunstead Road). Starts from Stalham Road north-

west of Littlewood and runs north-westwards for about 25 yards to a wire fence

obstructing the path. Continues to join the Tunstead Road.

Footpath No. 3 (Green Lane). Starts from Stalham Road near New Saw Mills and runs

eastwards to Council Housing Estate.

Footpath No. 4 (Stalham Road to the Grange). Starts from Stalham Road south of

Hoveton Hall Lodge and runs eastwards through Hazel Plantation, following Carr's

Loke, then bears south eastwards and continues to The Grange.

Footpath No. 5 (Stalham Road - Burnt Fen Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from the

Stalham Road - Burnt Fen Road nearly opposite Restricted Byway7 and runs north-

eastwards to the parish boundary where it joins Neatishead Footpath No. 5.

Footpath No. 7 (Stalham Road - Burnt Fen Road to Palmer's Lane). Starts from

Stalham Road - Burnt Fen Road and runs south-westwards to Palmer's Lane

(Restricted Byway No. 8).

Footpath No. 8 (Palmer's Lane). Starts from the south-western end of Restricted

Byway7 and runs southwards west of Palmer's Plantation to Upper Street.

Footpath No. 12 (Staithe to up stream side of Wroxham Bridge). Starts from Norwich

Road at parish boundary and runs southwards between Barclay and Pallett's Mill and

the Dairy to the River Bure.

Footpath No 13 (River Bure Footbridge) Starts from the footbridge located 2.5 metres

downstream from the road bridge and the Wroxham Parish boundary and runs in an

easterly direction. The footpath turns sharp left then right to pass around timber

buildings, and ends at a point in line with the west elevation of a timber café. August

PARISH OF INGHAM

Footpath No. 1 (Mill Road to Sidney Street). Starts at kissing gate in Mill Road, at

entrance to Churchyard, and runs south-eastwards for 200 yards to kissing gate and

then on to a stile. The path continues for a further 225 yards to exit at Sidney Street

by a kissing gate.

Footpath No. 2 (Mill Road to Goose Lane). Starts from Mill Road by a field-gate nearly

opposite the Old Vicarage, and runs west-wards to Goose Lane.

Footpath No. 3 (Town Road to Grove Road). Starts from Town Road by a field gate,

opposite "Crossways House", and runs northwards to join Grove Road just south of

The Grove.

Footpath No. 4 (Grove Road to C409). Starts at Grove Road at TG 3834/2625 and

runs north-easterly parallel to and north of the field boundary for approximately 200

metres and then turns and runs in a northerly direction parallel with and west of the

field boundary for approximately 18 metres. The path then runs parallel to and north

of the field boundary in a south-easterly direction for approximately180 metres and

then runs parallel to and to the east of the field boundary in a southerly direction for

approximately 112 metres. The path then turns to run parallel to and north of the field

boundary in an easterly direction for approximately 51 metres, and then parallel with

and to the east of the field boundary in an southerly direction for approximately 139

metres, and then parallel to and to the north of the field boundary in an easterly

direction for approximately 245 metres bypassing the electricity sub-station to junction

with C409. This path at a width of 1.5 metres. October 2000

Footpath No. 5 (Ingham Corner to Stonebridge Farm). Starts from Ingham Corner at

the junction of roads B1159 and C11 and runs westwards to Grove Road at

Stonebridge Farm.

Footpath No. 6 (Palling Road to Long Lane). Starts at the Palling Road about 150

yards from Fishpond Shrubbery and runs north-westwards to TG 3945/2676. From

this point onwards the path is at a width of 2 metres and runs parallel to a ditch and

hedge and along a track on the northern side of the field boundary in a generally

westerly direction for approximately 395 metres to junction with the C409 road

opposite "The Lodge". October 2000

Footpath No. 7 (Palling Road to Sidney Road). Starts at Palling Road (B1151) and

runs south-easterly parallel to and to the north of the field boundary hedge and ditch

for approximately 237 metres to the north-east corner of Bluebell Wood. The path

then runs in a southerly direction parallel to and to the east of the field boundary with

Bluebell Wood for 17 metres and then in mainly an easterly direction parallel to and to

the north of the field boundary ditch for most of its length for approximately 190 metres,

to exit via the field entrance onto Sidney Road opposite Sunset Cottage. This path at

a width of 2 metres. October 2000

Footpath No. 8 (Palling Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from Palling Road about 300

yards from the junction of Water Lane and Palling Road and runs northwards to

cottage at the parish boundary.

Footpath No. 9 (Stalham Footpath No. 11 to Grove Road). Starts at the eastern end

of Stalham Footpath No. 11 at the parish boundary and runs north-westerly along a

track for approximately 560 metres where it junctions with Grove Road on the southern

boundary of 'Thatched Cottages', This path at a width of 1.5 metres. October 2000

Footpath No.10 (Footpath No. 7 to opposite Footpath No. 6) Starts at the western end

of Ingham Public Footpath No. 7 at grid reference TG 3949 2630 located in the south

western corner of the field and runs in a generally northerly direction parallel to and to

and east of the field boundary bank and hedge, which borders the B1151 Palling Road,

for a distance of 164 metres approximately to grid reference TG 3957 2644 opposite

the track junction and Public Footpath No. 6 Ingham, which is located on the western

side of the B1151 Palling Road. The width of the footpath is 2 metres. August 2009

PARISH OF INGWORTH

Footpath No. 2 (Ringer's Lane). This path starts from the Cromer Road and runs north

eastwards along Ringer's Lane and then turns south eastwards and then east south

eastwards to enter the Aylsham Road at the parish boundary.

Byway Open to All Traffic No. 3 (Boundary/Green Lane) Starts from Norwich Road,

C555 (old A140) at the southernmost ‘arm’ of it’s junction with the road to Erpingham.

It leads in a westerly direction as a grass and earth track initially with earth banks on

either side upon which there are some individual mature trees. The northernmost point

of the entrance is marked by a mature oak tree. After approximately 155 metres the

track becomes open to arable fields on both sides but there is no reduction in usable

width. The bank returns again on the southern side after another 100 metres but it

remains open to the north. At 360 metres from the eastern end the track turns

northwards for approximately 20 metres before resuming a slightly north of westerly

course. There is at this point a small planted copse adjacent to the northern side of

the track for about 25 metres before opening to arable field again. A bank continues

on the southern side with gaps on the bend and halfway to the end of the route. Some

35 metres before the track joins the unsurfaced County Road (No. 14247) there is an

overgrown copse area to the north side, the bank to the south rising slightly to finish

at a holly tree on the junction. The width of usable track averages at about 2.7 metres

but is never less than 2.5 metres. The overall length is 620 metres. August 2001

Byway Open to All Traffic No. 4 (Back Lane) Starts at a splayed entrance off

Banningham Road some 15.5 metres east of the entrance to No. 5 and some 230

metres from Norwich Road (old A140). The western side of the splay has a short

length of post and wire fencing before becoming an open field access coincident with

the entrances to the bridleway. Another field access exists on the eastern corner of

the splay. The grass and soft earth track curves into a north north-easterly direction

between high banks which, for the most part, have hedging on top. An electricity

distribution pole more or less defines the start of the bank on the western side. After

some 317 metres the track curves to the north-west with a small area of trees to the

west/south-west for about 77 metres and an avenue of trees leading northwards from

the peak of the corner. From the end of this wooded area, which is by a farmhouse,

(Becks Farm) the route becomes coincident with a concrete drive leading north-

westwards to the exit onto the Norwich Road, C555 (old A140). The exit is opposite

the County Road 14248 and some 355 metres from the boundary of the last house

(No. 4) in Ingworth village itself. There is a tubular metal gate across the drive some

20 metres short of the exit but when closed there remains a clear gap of about 1.6

metres to the south of the gatepost. The last 213 metres of concrete track from Becks

Farm has a grass verge on both sides and hedging for most of that length, although

the field to the north is at a lower ground level. The usable width from Banningham

Road to Becks Farm is never less than 2.1 metres and that from Becks Farm to

Norwich Road never less than 3 metres. The overall length is approximately 607

PARISH OF ITTERINGHAM

Bridleway No. 1 (Matlask Road to Parish Boundary. Starts from the Matlask Road

opposite the northern end of Footpath No. 3 and runs north westwards to the parish

boundary where it joins Little Barningham Bridleway No. 7.

Footpath No. 2 (Footpath No. 4 to The Avenues). Starts at the parish boundary with

Barningham at approximately the north-western corner of Lady's Wood and runs in a

generally south-westerly direction along the western edge of Lady's Wood for

approximately 2,250 feet to the junction with The Walk and skirting Oak Grove in a

south-easterly and then westerly direction. This path will be at a width of 2 metres.

Footpath No. 3 (Matlask Road to Lady's Wood). Starts at the southern end of

Bridleway No. 1 and runs in a southerly direction for approximately 150 feet and then

turns to go in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 1100 feet to the

south western edge of Lady's Wood. The path will be at a width of 1.8 metres.

Footpath No. 4 (Footpath No. 2 to Parish Boundary). Starts from the northern end of

Footpath No. 2 and runs in a generally south easterly direction along the northern edge

of Lady's Wood for approximately 1,625 feet to the parish boundary with Wickmere.

This path is at a width of 2 metres. October 2000

Footpath No. 5 (Path in grounds of ruined church). This is a short path running south

westwards from the public highway to the ruins of the church.

Footpath No. 6 (The Walk to Footpath No. 8). This path starts from The Walk at

TG 1354/3210 and runs southwards to junction with the eastern end of Footpath No.

7. The path then continues along the eastern boundary of Mossymere Wood and then

bears south-eastwards, and then east north-eastwards along Keeper's Lane to a field

gate. The path then turns south-eastwards to join Footpath No. 8. The last 450 metres

of the path will be at a width of 1.8 metres. October 2000

Footpath No. 7 (Saxthorpe Road to Footpath No. 6). Starts from the Saxthorpe Road

and runs south-eastwards along the western boundary of Mossymere Wood (the

parish boundary) to junction with Corpusty Footpath No. 17 east of Wood Farm. The

path then turns eastwards to TG 1298/3126. For the next approximately 810 feet the

path is at a width of 1.8 metres and runs north easterly. The path continues north

eastwards and then eastwards again to join Footpath No. 6 at a field gate. October

Footpath No. 8 (Blicking Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from the Blicking Road

south of St. Mary's Church and runs west south-westwards to the parish boundary at

the southern boundary of Mossymere Wood where it joins Corpusty Footpath No. 16.

Footpath No. 9 (Parish Boundary to Little Barningham Road). Starts from the parish

boundary as a continuance of Wickmere Footpath No. 13 and runs southwards

bearing south eastwards along the western boundary of Park Hill Plantation. The path

continues south eastwards to enter the road leading to Little Barningham by a field

gate.

Footpath No. 10 (Little Barningham Road to Wickmere Road). Starts from the Little

Barningham Road almost opposite St. Mary's Church and runs eastwards to enter the

Wickmere Road opposite the western end of Footpath No. 21. June 2001

Footpath No 11 (Footpath No 12 to Decoy Plantation) Starts at the junction of

Restricted Byway No 12 and Footpath No 14 and runs in a south easterly direction

across open land for approximately 20 metres to a stile and then turns to run in a north

easterly direction for approximately 200 metres to the south east corner of a field. Up

to this point the path is 2 metres wide. The path then runs eastwards along the

southern boundary of Brick Kiln Plantation and continues eastwards to pass the north

western end of Footpath No 16 north east of Itteringham House. The path then

continues eastwards then turns southwards for a short distance and then turns

eastwards again to enter the public highway south of Decoy Plantation. June 2001

Restricted Byway No. 12 (Blickling Road to Footpath No. 21). Starts from the Blickling

Road by a field gate near the Manor House and runs east north-eastwards along the

northern boundary of The Rookery to join the northern end of Footpath No. 14. The

path then turns northwards to join Footpath No. 21 south of Dairy Farm. June 2001

Footpath No. 13 (Blickling Road to Oulton Road). Starts from the Blickling Road north

west of the Walpole Arms P.H. and runs south-eastwards and then southwards along

the western boundary of The Grove, continuing southwards along the parish boundary

to enter the Oulton Road opposite Fir Hill Plantation.

Footpath No. 14 (Restricted Byway No. 12 to Blickling Road). Starts from Restricted

Byway No. 12 and runs south-westwards along the south eastern boundary of The

Rookery and then turns east south-eastwards and runs to join the western end of

Footpath No. 15. The path then continues east south-eastwards to enter the Blickling

Road near the Methodist Chapel.

Footpath No. 15 (Footpath No. 14 to Footpath No. 16). Starts from Footpath No. 14

and winds eastwards then north-wards and then north eastwards to join Footpath No.

16 immediately to the south of Itteringham House.

Footpath No. 16 (Footpath No. 11 to Blickling Mill). Starts from Footpath No. 11 north

west of Itteringham House and runs south eastwards to join the north-eastern end of

Footpath No. 15. The path then continues south-eastwards to the parish boundary

near Blickling Mill.

Footpath No. 17 (Restricted Byway - Blickling Road to Holt-Norwich Road). Starts from

the Blickling Road south-east of the Methodist Chapel and runs south westwards to

the northern boundary of Bunker's Hill Plantation. The path then bears south-

westwards along the north western boundary of this plantation to join the northern end

of Footpath No. 18. The path then continues south westwards and then turns south

south-eastwards along the parish boundary to enter the Holt-Norwich Road east of

Oulton Lodge.

Footpath No. 18 (Restricted Byway No. 17 to Parish Boundary). Starts from Restricted

Byway No. 17 and runs south eastwards along the south western boundary of Bunker's

Hill Plantation to the parish boundary.

Footpath No. 19 (Footpath No. 6 to Footpath No. 20). Starts from TG 1411/3114 and

runs easterly for a distance of approximately 765 feet to junction with Footpath No. 20.

This path is at a width of 2 metres. October 2000

Footpath No. 20 (Church Road to Park Hill Plantation). Starts at grid reference

TM146312 at the southern end of Footpath No. 9 and the junction with Church Road

and runs in a generally westerly direction for approximately 250 metres and then in a

northerly direction within the boundaries of the woodland known as 'The Cut' for

approximately 270. The path then turns to run generally easterly parallel and to the

north of the field headland for approximately 100 metres where it junctions with

Footpath No. 9 opposite the south-western corner of Park Hill Plantation. This path is

at a width of 1.5 metres. October 2000

Footpath No 21 (Wickmere Road to Footpath No. 12) Starts from the Wickmere Road

opposite the eastern end of Footpath No 10. and runs south eastwards to meet the

northern end of Restricted Byway No. 12 south of Dairy Farm. June 2001

Footpath No. 1 (Restricted Byway2 to Kelling Hard). Starts from Restricted Byway.2

and runs eastwards to a southern boundary of The Quag. The path then turns north

north-westwards along the eastern boundary of The Quag and then bears north

eastwards to Kelling Hard.

Restricted Byway No. 2 (Main Coast Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from the Main

Coast Road opposite the War Memorial and runs north-eastwards the north-

westwards to join the western end of Footpath No. 1. The path then continues north-

westwards to the parish boundary where it joins Salthouse Restricted Byway No. 10.

Restricted Byway No. 3 (New Lane)._ Starts from Hasgate Lane and runs north-

westwards to enter Wood Lane near Gallow Hill.

Restricted Byway No. 4 (Kelling - Weybourne Road to Holt-Weybourne Road). Starts

from the Kelling-Weybourne Road near the Gravel Pit and runs southwards and then

south south-eastwards across Kelling Heath to join the Holt-Weybourne Road

opposite the northern end of Footpath No. 5.

Footpath No. 5 (Holt-Weybourne Road to Footpath No. 6). Starts from the Holt-

Weybourne Road and runs south south-eastwards across Kelling Warren, crossing

the railway line, and then bears eastwards to join Footpath No. 6.

Footpath No. 6 (Warren Road). Starts from Kelling Road between "Holmleigh" and

"Birkfield" and runs north eastwards to join the north western end of Footpath No. 9

near Warren House. The path then continues north eastwards past the south western

end of Footpath No. 7 and continues to join Weybourne Footpath No. 1 at the parish

boundary.

Footpath No. 7 (Footpath No. 6 to Parish Boundary). Starts from Footpath No. 6 south

of its junction with Footpath No. 5 and runs north eastwards to join the eastern end of

Footpath No. 8, and then continues north eastwards to the parish boundary where it

joins Weybourne Footpath No. 3.

Footpath No. 8 (Footpath No. 7 to Parish Boundary). Starts from Footpath No. 7 and

runs eastwards to the parish boundary where it joins Weybourne Footpath No. 4.

Footpath No. 9 (Footpath No. 6 to Parish Boundary). Starts from Footpath No. 6 near

Warren House and runs south eastwards to join Bodham Footpath No. 2 at the parish

boundary.

Restricted Byway No. 10 (Bernard Road). Starts from Kelling Road between

"Greystoke" and "Holmleigh" and runs eastwards to join "The Vale".

Restricted Byway No. 11 (Kelling Road to Restricted Byway No. 12). Starts from

Kelling Road at the northern boundary of High Kelling Post Office and runs eastwards

crossing Restricted Byway No. 13 to join Restricted Byway No. 12 at the rear of "The

Bungalow".

Restricted Byway No. 12 (Cromer Road to Restricted Byway No. 10). Starts from the

Cromer Road between "The Bungalow" and "Cherry Garth" and runs northwards to

Bridleway No. 13 (Cromer Road to Bernard Close). Starts from the Cromer Road on

the eastern side of 'Briarwood' and runs northwards to Bernard Close. October 2000

Footpath No. 14 (Sheringham Road to Footpath No. 5).Starts from the Sheringham

Road, near the Weybourne parish boundary, and runs southwards following the parish

boundary to the railway. The path then turns westwards running north of the railway

to join Footpath No. 5 at the railway crossing.

Footpath No. 15 (Footpath No. 5 to Parish Boundary). Starts from Footpath No. 5 at

the railway crossing and runs eastwards on the south side of the railway to the parish

boundary where it joins Weybourne Footpath No. 1.

Footpath No. 16 (Footpath No. 16 Salthouse to Footpath No. 7 Weybourne). Starting

at the parish boundary with Weybourne at its junction with Footpath No. 16 in that

Parish, running in an east south easterly direction along the southern lower edge of

the shingle bank then in a south easterly direction, crossing Footpath No. 1 and

following the south western side of Kelling Hard, then in an easterly direction to the

parish boundary with Weybourne, and its junction with Footpath No. 7 in that Parish.

Footpath No. 17 (Bernard Close to Bernard Road). Starts at the northern end of

Bridleway No. 13 on Bernard Close and runs in a northerly direction parallel to and to

the west of the boundary fence which separates the properties known as 'The

Heathers' and 'Woodlands' for approximately 52 metres to its junction with Restricted

Byway No. 10 on Bernard Road. This path at a width of 1.5 metres. October 2000

Footpath No. 18 (A149 to Pinfold Lane). Starts from the A149 at TG 0850/4315 and

runs westerly, parallel and to the northern side of the field boundary bank for

approximately 77 metres, and then turns to run in a westerly direction crossfield for

approximately 173 metres to a gap in the field boundary. The path then runs in a north

westerly direction parallel and to the north side of the field boundary bank for

approximately 195 metres and then turns to run in a northerly direction parallel and to

the eastern side of the field boundary for approximately 91 metres to exit onto Pinfold

PARISH OF KETTLESTONE

Footpath No. 1 (Norwich Road to Restricted Byway2). Starts from the Norwich-Wells

Road by a field gate near The Hills and runs in a north easterly direction alongside the

north western boundary of Kettlestone Common to join Restricted Byway No. 2 at a

field gate.

Restricted Byway No. 2 (From Footpath No. 1 to Holbrigg Lane). Starts from the field

gate at the northern end of Footpath No. 1 and runs north westwards, then north

eastwards to Holbrigg Lane.

PARISH OF KNAPTON

Footpath No. 1 (Trunch – Mundesley Road to Mundesley Footpath No. 25) Starts

from the Trunch – Mundesley Road by a stile at the parish boundary and runs north

eastwards past three stiles to grid reference TG 3069 3582 then running with a width

of 2 metres in a generally north easterly direction for approximately 70 metres to grid

reference TG 3075 3585 where the path meets Mundesley Footpath No. 25 at the

parish boundary. December 2016

Footpath No. 2 (Robinson's Loke). Starts from North Walsham Road, north of Knapton

House, and runs north westwards to the parish boundary to join Trunch Bridleway No.

7.

Footpath No. 3 (North Walsham Road to Old Hall Road). Starts from North Walsham

Road, opposite Knapton House, by a kissing gate and runs south eastwards past two

stiles to exit by a stile at Old Hall Road.

Footpath No. 4 (Old Hall Road to Restricted Byway No. 5). Starts from Old Hall Road

next to the railway and runs westwards to join Restricted Byway No. 5.

Restricted Byway No. 5 (North Walsham Road to New Cross). Starts from North

Walsham Road at Grove Corner and runs southwards to junction of Bridleway No. 4

and continues to county road.

Footpath No. 6 (Restricted Byway No. 5 to Footpath No. 8). Starts from Restricted

Byway No. 5 by a stile and runs southwards to join Footpath No. 8 by a stile.

Footpath No. 7 (Old Hall Road to Parish Boundary). Starts from Old Hall Road

immediately south of the railway by a stile and follows the railway north eastwards to

another stile, then turns south eastwards to the parish boundary where it joins

Restricted Byway No. 11.

Footpath No. 8 (North Walsham Road to Royston Bridge Road). Starts from the North

Walsham Road (B1145) at The Beeches and runs south east to Footpath No.6, then

south westwards alongside the railway, crossing under the railway, to Brook Farm.

The path joins Footpath No. 9 then bears eastwards to Stone Cottages on the road

leading to Royston Bridge.

Footpath No. 9 (Footpath No. 6 to Royston Bridge). Starts from Footpath No. 6 at

Brook Farm and runs south eastwards along the bank of the canal to Royston Bridge.

Footpath No. 10 (River Mount to Dead Man's Grave). Starts from the road at River

Mount by a fieldgate and runs north eastwards along the boundary to join the road at

Dead Man's Grave.

Footpath No. 11 (Dead Man's Grave to Knapton Station). Starts from the road at Dead

Man's Grave and runs north eastwards along the boundary to Knapton Station where

it joins Footpath No. 12 and Paston Footpath No. 1.

Footpath No. 12 (The Street to Knapton Station). Starts from the Street and runs north

eastwards past two kissing gates to cross the railway, where there are further kissing

gates, to join Restricted Byway No. 11 by another kissing gate.

PARISH OF LANGHAM

Footpath No. 2 (Hollow Lane to Parish Boundary).

Starts from Hollow Lane and runs southwards, passing to the east of Grove Farm, to

the parish boundary where it joins Field Dalling Bridleway No. 2.

PARISH OF LESSINGHAM

Footpath No. 1 (Church Lane to Parish Boundary). Starts from the western end of

Church Lane and runs northwards along Jones Loke, which is 8 feet wide, to stile,

then continues to parish boundary where it joins Happisburgh Footpath No. 10.

Footpath No. 2 (School Road to Church Road). Starts from School Road near the

School and runs northwards to Church Road south of All Saints' Church

Footpath No. 3 (Happisburgh Road to Footpath No. 2). Starts from Happisburgh Road

by kissing gate and runs westwards to join Footpath No. 2 by a kissing gate.

Footpath No. 4 (Star Hill to Ingham Road). Starts from Star Hill and runs in a southerly

direction for approximately 420 metres and then turns easterly to run along the north

of a field boundary for approximately 96 metres before turning to run in a southerly

direction for approximately 355 metres to junction with Chapel Loke. Up to this point

the path is at a width of 1.5 metres. From this point onwards the width of the path is

not determined and it turns to run easterly along Chapel Loke following the parish

boundary to junction with Ingham Road by the Methodist Chapel. October 2000

Footpath No. 5 (High Road to Footpath No. 4). Starts from High Road at TG

3863/2765 and runs in an easterly direction for approximately 210 metres and then in

a northerly direction for approximately 62 metres parallel to and to the west of the

drainage ditch. The path then runs for approximately 225 metres in a south-easterly

direction parallel to and on the northern side of the hedge to the junction with Footpath

No. 4. This at a width of 2 metres. October 2000

Bridleway No. 6 (Low Road to Footpath No. 12). Starts from Low Road, south of Manor

House and runs south-eastwards along Common Road, bearing eastwards to join

Bridleway No. 7; it then continues south-eastwards to join Footpath No. 12.

Bridleway No. 7 (Hempstead Road to Bridleway No. 6). Starts from Hempstead Road

at a point south-east of St. Andrews Church and runs southwards to join Bridleway

No. 6.

Bridleway No. 8 (Seaside Lane). Starts from Hempstead Road west of the Rectory

and runs north eastwards as a 12 feet wide green lane to the beach at the parish

boundary.

Bridleway No. 9 (Church Lane). Starts from St. Andrews Church, and runs north-

eastwards to Bush Estate where it joins Bridleway No. 10. Metalled surface 12 feet

wide.

Bridleway No. 10 (Church Lane to Seaside Lane - Cross Lane). Starts from the

northern end of Bridleway No. 9 and runs north westwards to join Bridleway No. 8

Green Lane 12 feet wide.

Footpath No. 11 (Beach Road to Church Lane). Starts from Beach Road (The

Thoroughfare) and runs westwards to join Church Lane (Bridleway No. 9) at the north

of St. Andrew's Church. Path 3 feet wide.

Footpath No. 12 (Bridleway No. 13 to Parish Boundary). Starts from the southern end

of Bridleway No. 13 and runs westwards to Gipsy Loke and on to join Bridleway No.

6; it then turns southwards past Rookery Plantation to the parish boundary. The path

bears eastwards and follows the boundary to the eastern end of Deal Plantation.

Bridleway No. 13 (Heath Road to Footpath No. 12). Starts from Heath Road south east

of Beach Farm and runs southwards to join Footpath No. 12.

Footpath No. 15 (Parish Boundary). Starts from the parish boundary where it joins

the western end of Sea Palling Footpath No. 10 and runs in a generally south westerly

direction for some 90 metres. October 2000

Footpath No. 16 (Manor Farm to High Road). Starts from the track just south of Manor

Farm and runs south for approximately 360 metres and then turns east to run for

approximately 42 metres. The path then turns to run in a southerly direction along the

track for approximately 162 metres and then in an easterly direction continuing along

the track for approximately 700 metres to the junction with High Road. This path at a

width of 1.5 metres.October 2000

Footpath No. 17 (Happisburgh Footpath No. 20 to Parish Boundary). Starts from the

eastern end of Happisburgh Footpath No. 20 and runs in an easterly direction for

approximately 144 metres where it joins the track south of Manor Farm. Up to this

point the path is at a width of 1 metre. From this point onwards the path is at a width

of 1.5 metres and runs in a generally northerly direction using the track to the east of

Manor Farm for approximately 245 metres to junction with U19038 road and the parish

boundary. October 2000

Footpath No. 18 (Footpath No. 4 to Ingham Road). Starts from TG 3905/2783 at a

junction with Footpath No. 4 and runs east to TG 3923/2781. From this point onwards

the path is at a width of 1.5 metres and turns to run south for approximately 25 metres

and then east for approximately 120 metres to junction with the Ingham Road. October

Footpath No. 19 (Chapel Loke). Starts at TG 3900/2747 and runs easterly along

Chapel Loke following the parish boundary to junction with Footpath No. 4.

Byway Open to All Traffic No. 20 (Beach Road /The Thoroughfare to Eccles Road)

Starts from unclassified road number 19034 Beach Road/The Thoroughfare, Eccles

at map reference TG 4116/2887 at a point where Beach Road turns north-westwards.

The route leads as a dirt track between dunes and scrub in a generally easterly

direction for some 135 metres. The track turns south-eastwards for 260 metres and

then turns southwards and continues for another 120 metres to join with the

unclassified road number 19036 Eccles Road at a point adjacent to the southern

boundary of a property known as The Pightle at map reference TG 4143/2851. The

width of the track varies between 2.5 metres and 3.5 metres according to the width of

the track and the overall length of the route is approximately 515 metres.

Footpath No. 1 (Saxlingham Road to Fakenham Road). Starts from the Saxlingham

Road and runs southwards to enter the Fakenham Road at the parish boundary.

Footpath No. 2 (Holt-Thornage Road to Holt Footpath No. 14). Starts from the Holt-

Thornage Road near the Ford and runs east south-eastwards along the parish

boundary bearing south eastwards and then eastwards to finish at Holt Footpath No.

14 on the western side of the railway line.

Footpath No. 3 (Common Hills Plantation to Holt Footpath No. 10). Starts from Holt

Footpath No. 14 on the eastern side of the railway line and runs south eastwards along

parish boundary at Commons Hills Plantation to Join Holt Footpath No. 10.
