Defining Systems
An Introduction to Systems Analysis
Examples of Systems
• A set of correlated members: a system of currency.
• A coordinated body of methods or a scheme or plan of procedure: a system of government.
• A combination of things or parts forming a complex or unitary whole: a system of railways.
Computing System
A system of interconnected computers that share a central storage system and various peripheral devices such as a printers, scanners, or routers. Each computer connected to the system can operate independently, but has the ability to communicate with other external devices and computers.

Information Management SystemAny combination of
information and communication technologies and people's activities using those technologies that support the operations and management of an organisation
Systems Thinking
Systems thinking is the process of understanding how things influence one another within a whole
Systems Analysis
The study of an activity or procedure to determine the desired end and the most efficient method of obtaining this end
Structured Systems Analysis and Design Method
Structured Systems Analysis and Design Method (SSADM) is a systems approach to the analysis and design of information systems. SSADM was produced for the Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency a UK government office concerned with the use of technology in government, from 1980 onwards.
