    Defining Collection Element Types

    Concept

    You need to assign a collection element type to each collection element that you define. You can

    create your own collection element types or you can use one of Quality's three predefined types:

    Attribute collection element type: This groups collection elements according to specifiedcharacteristics like color etc., or the outcome of a process like a pass/fail result.

    Variable collection element type: This groups collection elements by their numeric

    measurements like temperature etc. Reference Information collection element type: This groups collection elements that

    reference common objects defined in other Oracle Applications like Oracle Inventory

    etc.

    In this topic, you will define a collection element type.

    5. Use the Collection Element Type Lookups page to define a collection element

    type by entering a code along with its meaning and description.

    You can define a maximum of 250 Codes, but you cannot change the values in

    these fields once you save them. To remove an obsolete code you can either disable

    it, enter an end date, or change the meaning and description to match a replacement

    code.
