MAJOR ASIAN TRI-SERVICE EXHIBITION IS PRIMED FOR ACTION IN NOVEMBERASEAN is now fully embarked on military modernization, making it one of the fastest-growing regions for military spending in the world. With rapid economic development and geo-political instabilityin the region ASEAN countries are increasing their defense spendingand military modernization making Defense & Security 2013 one of the biggest Defense & Security exhibitions ever held in the region.

Defense & Security is now a world recognized success and certainlyone of the most important tri-service military exhibitions in the ASEAN region. Based on the concept of International Defense Cooperation, Defense & Security 2013 will mark the show’s tenth anniversary. The multi-national event in neutral Thailand has provedto be an ideal place to showcase the latest military hardware and software.

This year’s exhibition will host over 400 world leading Defense & Security companies from all three Services - Land, Sea & Air - plusInternal Security. DEFENSE & SECURITY 2013NOW A MUST-ATTEND EVENT The 2013 exhibition will feature a full display of defense and internalsecurity equipment and will include weapons systems, guns, missiles,tanks, UAV’s, transport vehicles, vessels, satellites, telecom & a widerange of electronic defense technology. Manufacturers of fire controlsystems, launchers and other important military systems and hardwarewill also be present.

The Internal Security section, will display equipment ranging from security products such as CCTV, intruder alarms, access & electronicsecurity, personal hand guns, body armour, riot control equipment, protective gloves, night-vision technology, communication jamming devices and many other cutting-edge products from major manufacturers.

SIR, Secure USB Flash Memory Storage DeviceSIR is an encrypted USB flash memory storage device which protects data fullfilling the security requirements on a full hardware based architecture, operated by a single user. The device has the storage capacity options of 2GB/4GB/8GB flash memory with ability of 10/MB/s writing & reading speeds.The device projects data stored on itself, not while reading from or writing to the host. Data security and device/user authentication requirements are providedby means of a user token and a user password.

2. VERISAR is a portable offline encryption equipment which encrypts/decryptsdata fulfilling the security requirements on a full hardware based architecture, operated by a single user. It is based on SIR architecture (secure USB flash memory device) which was designed by TUBITAK previously. There are two operation modes as offline and online. Offline mode is used for message encryption and decryption processes. Encrypted messages are sent or received in online mode. The device is used securely with separate notebooks or desktopcomputers on RED and BLACK side.

ASEAN NATIONS TO BE FEATURED INSPECIAL ‘COLLABORATION’ SEMINAR One of the highlights of this year’ s event will be an International Seminar on ‘ASEAN Defence Industrial Collaboration’ which is scheduled for Wednesday 6th November 2013.

The Special Seminar will focus on the ASEAN Security Community - one of the main pillars of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN). The 10 ASEAN member countries will form the “ASEAN EconomicCommunity” (AEC) in 2015. ASEAN Defense Industry Collabortion(ADIC) is one of the key sectors of the ASEAN Security Community.

The Seminar’s main objective is to promote collaboration among ASEAN members in regard to defense production. Collaboration will be based on the exchange of experience, knowledge and technicaldevelopment of defence capabilities among members. Admission to the seminar is free and by invitation only.

CYBER WARFARE: A CHALLENGE OF ASEAN COOPERATION IN FUTURE In recent years threats no longer just come from conventional warfare,cyber war is also playing an ever more critical role. This Seminar helps provide understanding of cyber warfare and how to prevent and protect against it. The Seminar will be held on Wednesday 6th November 2013 with panel speakers from Thailand, China, Israel and the USA. The prevalence of international - level cyber threats could be driving forces for most countries to establish their cyber defending systems, including accelerate their development of cyberspace operations capabilities.
