• ISO9001 – DBS Greer is certified according to ISO9001; DBS management is committed to
high standard of quality requirements and continual improvement of our quality management
system through the combined efforts of every one of our professional personnel.
• Inspection Test Plan – The assembly ITP is used to manage internal and external
documentation, validation and verification requirements; as well as hold points. The ITP for this
assembly project has been shared with Wartsila and American Bureau of Shipping, the
classification society; ABS will witness the contact pattern check and the spin test.
• Part traceability – Cast and machined parts are marked to ensure that quality documentation
can be traced to the gear unit. Marking templates, quality and documentation requirements have
been shared with suppliers.
• Supply-chain management – Review, approval, and monitoring of suppliers is essential for
supplier parts quality and for ensuring reliable and effective process for identifying and resolving
nonconforming parts.
• Nonconforming parts – All nonconforming parts will be reported to Wartsila for concession
approval before acceptance or installation in the gearbox.
• Risk management – We assess and continuously monitor potentially-problematic scenarios
and uncertainties that could affect product quality, process quality, timely delivery, and project
costs.
