The Creep! by Hilal SEA

Looking through the GLASS Up in the CLOUDS

Hidden in the SHADOWS Lies beneath the DOOR

Hidden from FEAR

Birds in Spring by Harman SEA

In the spring of the year when the time is right, The migrating birds all take flight, When the ice and snow melts into the ground, The beautiful birds are northern bound. The breezy days finally grow long, Green grass starts to cover the lawn, You can hear the songbirds as you wake, listen to the chorus they can all make. Woodpecker drum in the spring of the year, Letting you know that they are here, Geese and ducks might take their flight, You can hear owls hoot at night. Celebrating the arrival of the birds and spring, Enjoy the many colours that they bring, When you see more cardinals and robins so red, You know that spring time is just ahead.

The Dead! by Hilal SEA

Come out at NIGHT, To seek them that FIND,

You hear them CRY, From beneath the NIGHT

Student Learning Conferences

On Tuesday the 3/4s held their end of year Student Learning Conferences. The students were so excited to share their learning this semester with a family member, teacher or a buddy from Senior School. On behalf of all 3/4 students and teachers we would like to thank everyone who came along to the Student Learning Conferences and shared in our celebration of student learning.

3/4 News What’s been happening in 3/4? For writing, the Year 3/4 students have been learning how to adapt fairytales. We have learnt how you can change the character, setting, the actual main events that happen or a character’s motivations. We have also learnt ways to improve writing such as adding dialogue, and describing actions so the reader can get a good mental movie of what is happening. Here is the beginning of Bethlehem’s writing that enables the reader to form a fantastic mental movie of what is happening: Once upon a time, there lived a rather ugly but extremely kind girl named Quynh. Every afternoon she would adore watching the famous and one and only Latasi on his Youtube channel, while eating buttered popcorn and slurping on a pumpkin spiced latte from Starbucks. Her cruel father Bawi, tried to persuade her, “Quynh! Just stop watching him. It’s not like he’ll actually fall for a hideous beast like you”, while trying to brush her thick forest like hair. “He might one day,” she mumbled while chomping down on her crispy crumpet drizzled with honey…………

Inquiry Celebration It has been a very busy term with our inquiry learning. This semester our students have inquired into a range of areas including decision making/conflict, emotions, design, living things and environmental sciences. All of our students have had the opportunity to listen to experts and develop their critical thinking skills to extend and gain new

knowledge. Thank you to all of our parents and community experts who have helped. Thank you to all of our wonderful teachers who have planned such amazing lessons. Looking forward to even more exciting investigations next year!
