Fixed Income And Future/Option Processing:-

It is the brokerage processing for Fixed Income and Future/Option asset product group which consist of Repurchase Agreements, Government Bonds, Corporate Bonds, Future and option strategies.

Along with brokerage some more charges like Transaction Fee, Client Fee and Monthly fee is also processed on Monthly basis.

On an average 130 invoices from 55 brokers are processed every month for each asset class. (FI and Equity Derivative)

London and Asia Pacific regions are covered.

Global Currencies majorly USD, GBP, EUR, CHF , HKD, SGD, IDR etc are processed.

Key Deliverable:

Responsible for keeping track of the invoices received from brokers by logging them in ‘Invoice Inventory’ and keep the status updated.

Reconciling broker’s invoices with internal system such as FISS, SOPHIS,BYTES and R&N to validate trade economics. Trade economics may include Notion, Settlement amount, Value date, buyer/sellers etc.

Reaching out to counterparties in case there is any dispute in the invoicing.

Reaching out to traders for trade confirmation and brokerage approval.

Reaching out to Middle office for booking un-booked trades in to systems.

Making payments to brokers by payment systems such as SWIFT, GBP and AIP.

Intimating payment breakdown to counterparties and getting confirmation of payment receipt.

Adjusting the payments from respective entity by direct debit or intercompany transfer.

Allocating the payments to respective traders by posting journal ledger to their books.

Performing nostro reconciliation between payments made vs the cash event in Intellimatch (Imatch)

Creating weekly and monthly MIS for Management review.

eClerx Services Ltd., Pune From July ’11 to Jun’14Position - Senior Analyst - Listed Derivative Operations - [Expense Management]Profile - Handling the Brokerage payable & receivable process (eGAINS/GPS) for one of the top Investment Bank. Playing a Business Analyst role by providing the necessary details to the tech team to automate manual functions.

EGAINS/GPS - Electronic Give-Up Automated Invoicing System (eGAINS/GPS -Give up System) are the web-based billing systems for processing give-up transactions at multiple exchanges to settle brokerage payable and receivable.

Key Deliverable :

Receivable:

Responsible for pricing un-priced trades available in the eGAIN System with the reference from eGus Agreement from Business Day 1 [BD1] to BD10. This is call pricing cycle and is an activity period for Executing Broker.

Posting the credit and debit adjustments in eGAINS/GPS portal to adjust the correct amount receivable from clearing broker.

Creating the ERS [Electronic Rate Schedule] and attaching it in eGus so that rates can be picked automatically from eGAINS.

Resolving trades with ‘Zero’ Rate and Q-Busted [Cancel Trades] on daily basis to minimize exceptions.

Initiating Inter-company transfer from London to Atlantic [New York], ASIA and EMEA region.

Maintaining the relationship with Marketing Team and documentation to obtain latest rate card.

Resolving the queries raised by Clearing broker, Documentation team and Marketing team.

Performing daily reconciliation to reduce the Currency and Rate issues. Now the matching percentage is 85%.

Applying the funds collected in BRT to reduce the outstanding and reflect in balance sheet.

Writing off incorrect accruals from BRT and creating correct accruals.

Payable:

Responsible for validating the trades with the internal system and eGus and make or reject payment via eGAINS from BD11 to BD16. This is called prelim cycle and is an activity period for Clearing Broker.

Sending the pre and post notification to the executing brokers for rejecting the payments

Posting Debit and Credit Adjustments in Clients Accounts as suggested by Client Representatives.

Initiating Inter-company transfer from Atlantic [New York], ASIA and EMEA to London Region.

Played lead role in reducing rate and currency mismatch issue for eGAINS/GPS payable from 45% to 8-10% within a span of 3 months by either getting rates corrected in internal system or asking the broker to correct rates.

Generated monthly MIS for Account payable. Ensured accurate accounting of the amount paid out of eGAINS/GPS within the internal

systems.

Common Responsibilities for payable and receivable:

Match offs Credit and Debits by applying funds in their respective systems. Main purpose is to reflect the Fund Received and Fund Paid in NOSTRO account from BD17 to BD22. This activity is called fund application.

Responsible for reconciliation of Fixed Income, Interest rate and Derivative products. Reconciling internal system trade information with exchange trade details. These products include Interest Rate Swaps, Fixed Income, Bund, Bobl, Bonds, Currency index, Currency Swaps, Long Gilt, swap notes, Agricultural products, Single Stock Future/ Option etc.

Played an instrumental role in providing the input for developing a perfect receivable and payable system to facilitate the requirements of Brokerage Department.

Ensured completion of auto reconciliation tools for eGAINS/GPS which resulted in a matching percentage of over 90% thus saved approximately 6-7 BD’s per month.

Supervising auditing the activities performed by juniors. Functioned in close coordination with IT team for testing, implementation, parallel run

and movement of historical invoices into the new tool.

Differences between eGains and GPS: There are only three major differences in these electronic settlement applications.

Owner : Owner of eGains is Future Industry Associate (FIA) UK. Owner of GPS is Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) USA.

Exchanges: Exchanges Settling on eGains are LIFFE, EUREX, ICE, IFUS, SGX and TMX.

Exchanges Settling on GPS are CME, CBOT, COMEX and NYMAX. Cycle:

Contribution Towards Process Automation: Played lead role in getting developed and testing below applications:

eRT (eGAINS reconciliation tool.) to reconcile exchange and internal data. GRT (GPS reconciliation tool.) to reconcile exchange and internal data. BRT (Brokerage Receivable tool ) to apply the funds collected by replacing access

data base. OBP (One Brokerage Payable) to draw down the funds paid across all regions.

Achievements:

Received 'Analyst of the Quarter Award' in the month of May'13. Client Ranked no # 1 in terms of maximum settlement [99.5%] sixth time consecutively

in eGAINS platform across the industry. This was possible only because of resolving exceptions and discrepancies.

Received Quality Certified 'Business Process Improvement Awards' thrice consecutively for developing eRT (eGAINS Reconciliation Tool). I logged 15 Business Improvement Ideas out of these 6 Ideas have been certified as BPI.
