As part of Brisbane Metro, Council is upgrading several intersections around South Brisbane and the CBD to help appropriately manage changes on the local traffic network, including the removal of general vehicle access to Victoria Bridge. Council has now completed upgrades at three other key intersections in South Brisbane and the CBD. Works to upgrade the Peel Street, Grey Street and Stanley Place intersection will start on Sunday, May 10, 2020 and are expected to be completed by late-2020, weather and site conditions permitting. The features of the intersection upgrade are outlined on the attached project plan. Dedicated to a better Brisbane

5 May 2020

Dear resident/business owner

BRISBANE METRO PEEL STREET, GREY STREET AND STANLEY PLACE INTERSECTION UPGRADE

Start of construction Sunday, 10 May 2020

Brisbane City Council is getting residents home quicker and safer with more travel options, less congestion and better public transport. Brisbane Metro will mean a 21 kilometre, turn-up-and-go service, with two dedicated lines connecting 18 stations from Eight Mile Plains to Roma Street and RBWH to UQ.

Works will generally take place at night between 7pm and 5am, Sunday to Thursday, when traffic volumes are lowest to ensure the safety of motorists and workers and to minimise traffic disruptions.

What can I expect?

• Works will generally be completed at night between 7pm and 5am, Sunday to Thursday. • Construction equipment including excavators, trucks, jackhammers, compaction

equipment, road saws, vacuum excavators, small cranes and asphalt equipment. • Noise, vibration and lights associated with the use of construction equipment, including

vehicles and equipment with flashing lights and white noise (non-tonal) reversing beepers for the safety of onsite workers.

• Changed traffic conditions including traffic lane and footpath closures with traffic control and signage to direct pedestrians, cyclists and motorists, as required.

Nearby residents and businesses may experience noise from this work. Please be assured that Council will make every effort to minimise disruptions during these works and appreciates the patience and cooperation of the local community while the upgrade is undertaken.

Please feel free to contact the project information line on 1800 692 333 (during business hours) if you would like to speak with a member of the project team in more detail about these works. For more information regarding these construction activities or to register for updates, please visit brisbane.q1d.gov.au/brisbanemetro. For more information outside of business hours, call Council's 24-hour Contact Centre on (07) 3403 8888.
