Dear Decision Women,
We are fast approaching the end of September and October will be here before we know it. We will be having our annual Membership Drive on October 6th at the Holiday Inn, Stony Brook so please bring any potential members you may know. We will introduce them to Decision and share our rich history and learn about all the wonderful charities we have helped during our 36 year history. In that same vein, please welcome our newest member, Cindy Stachowski.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Sadly, I am sure every one of us has been touched in some way by this dreaded disease. I personally just learned that a dear friend of mine and a former Decision Member had a double mastectomy and then while recovering from the surgery learned it had spread to her lymph nodes. I cannot stress enough how important it is to get that annual checkup, do self-exams and have that mammogram. Let’s everyone show our PINK during Octo-ber to help raise awareness of this dreaded and all too common disease.
We are very fortunate and extremely grateful that Barbara Ransome has agreed to chair one of our most favorite fund raising events. We are looking to do our Walk, Wine & Shop again this spring and of course, Barbara will need volunteers to assist her with this. Being that we ask everyone to be part of at least one committee, this is a great opportunity to get involved and help raise money for Decision. I will pass the committee sign-up sheets again for the last time at the October meeting.I’m looking forward to seeing everyone and their guests at our membership drive on October 6th.
