Decent part 7 task 2&3

Holly is the woman who

lives on interning. She

likes to try out new things

and doesn't think of the

consequences. She is a

very active sports woman

who has plenty of sports

experience.

Sam is the younger sister of Rebecca so

she protects Sam, but Sam wants to be

more independent. She is a medical

student so she is still at University and

she is the youngest one in the group

who wants to be accepted by them.

Rebecca is the older

sister of Sam so she

feels like she has to

protect her. She

introduces Sam to the

group and is like a

mother figure for

Sam.

Juno is the leader of the

group. She is the one

who made everyone to

go in the wrong cave

on purpose. Everyone

trusts her and she is the

one who introduced

Holly to the group.

Sahara is the reason the film

exists, they all

went

caving to try and

cheerer her up. She is close

friends with Beth and she is still

in morning about her husband

and child dying.

Beth is a qualified English

teacher who likes adventures

but doesn't like to be in real

danger. She is always

equipped with safety things.

She is best friends with

Sarah, she notice things that

others do. Beth is loyal to

Sara so she doesn't tell her about her husbands affair with Juno.

She would of confronted Juno about it but other things go in the

way.

In this picture the women are all

sitting around comfortably in

there PJ’s. This shows that they

are all friends who trust each

other because they aren't bothered

about what they all think about

each other. This image shows the

girly side of them because this is

what girls do.

This image of the women shows that they

stick together and nothing could come

between them to spit them up. They are all

equal because there isn’t really a leader of

the pack. This image shows that they are

adventures, the women are all in vests in

the rain and have cuts on them shows that

they are hard, tough independent women.

You can tell they have some

chemistry between them just by

looking at the image. The man Paul is

helping Juno and she is letting him

help her. The way they are looking at

each other you can see the love

between them. Paul is Sarah’s

husband so this shows that he is

having an affair with Sahara's friend.

In this image you can tell that Sarah is

a killer. She has blood all over her and

she has no cuts. The way how she is

about to swing the pick axe shows that

she can be violently dangerous and is

about to kill someone. Unlike the

crawlers who like for food, Sahara

kills because she is angry and upset.

Media Effects and the Audience

Hypodermic needle model

In the decent the theory is that people react to different things

in different ways depending on there own experiences in life.

When a something shocking happens like when Holly broke

her leg people gasped in horror. People like to watch horror

movies to get that feeling but knowing that they are safe and

its not real.

Two-step flow model

Films will only show what the modern society accept to be ok

regardless of the age rating. They don’t try and enforce a

different opinion into them they just develop society's ideas

and opinions. The idea of Juno seen Paul behind Sahara's back

it is known to happen in society and people except it. If this

fim was releaced in the 50’s it wouldn't’t get released because

that was not acceptable.

Use and gratifications model

The decent doesn't make something up to create entertainment

and drama, they take something out of society that we accept

and put it into the film. The idea of Juno seeing Paul behind

Sara's back, the idea of betrayal is what stereotypically women

do in real life. The fact that the two sisters go and leave the

rest of the group is also a form of betrayal.
