Each December takes me by surprise. I find it unbelievable that each year we get stuck in traffic jams, wrack our brains about what to buy for whom and spend so much money, not to mention – eat too much. However I find myself doing it again this year. For those of you going away, or who are away already, I hope you have a happy and safe time and if travelling on our roads, please be careful, there are some crazy drivers out there. ON LEAVE As always, some of our staff take leave over this period. Hayman is already away and returns 20 January. While he is away Alton will be standing in for him. Herman is taking a few days leave from Christmas returning on 6 January and I will be away from 21 December until 30 December. Loraine Townsend, Unit 65, will be here during that time so please contact her whilst I am away. She has the key for the gates in case there is a problem. RECYCLING For the first time for a few months, I will not mention the state of the recycling – just because it is Christmas! However, I do have a few things to mention: Barry, the recycling man, will not be collecting any recycling until after New Year so please do NOT put any recycling in the bin areas. He will resume collecting again after 2 January. There are many areas where recycling can be deposited. I use the very efficient one behind Constantia Village but there are some igloos at the Tokai Library, at the Total garage in Tokai Road and a large recycling depot at the dump site in Ladies Mile. In fact, it is quite an experience going there as any ‘stuff’ dumped, which can be used, is put on display and again, the system is very efficient. Cherrie has been collecting the cardboard that is put in the bin areas and taking this to the dump for us during the year, as the Recycling man does not collect cardboard. I was not aware of this and I am sure there are many of you who were also unaware. She will also not be doing this over the Christmas period but I would like to suggest that she should not have to do this next year and that we all try to dispose of our cardboard ourselves.

NEWSLETTER - DECEMBER 2013

Dear Forest Glade Members and Tenants

Well here we are again, at the end of the year.

ON LEAVE

As always, some of our staff take leave over this period.

RECYCLING

For the first time for a few months, I will not mention the state of the recycling – just because it is Christmas!

However, I do have a few things to mention:

Barry, the recycling man, will not be collecting any recycling until after New Year so please do NOT put any recycling in the bin areas.

FOREST GLADE AT NEW YEAR

Attached to this newsletter you will all find an invitation to our New Year braai. I hope that many of you will come and join us, either for the whole evening, a drink before you leave for your party or a late night drink when you return.

If you are going away at this time, please inform your neighbours and let’s keep our eyes open and be aware of people coming and going in the Glade.

Lastly, the Board would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and all the best for this festive season. May we all have a fabulous 2014.

Best wishes

Barbara
