DECEMBER 2010 MONTHLY NEWSLETTER ISSUE NO. 144 Every now and again I decide that it is time to make a few adjustments to the weekly episodic series, “Christian Music Videos”. Over the years, we’ve had several different show opens as well as a variety of fresh new show inserts, bumpers and promos. With the addition of Katie, our newest VJ, and the close of the 2010 year, I felt that it was time to make a few new adjustments to the show - you know just to change things up a bit. Beginning the week of December 13th, when we air our Christmas episode, you’ll see these new changes to the show. One change you may notice right away is an adjustment to the standard show open. The beginning of the open will be the same as it has been, but you’ll notice a change to the ending. Usually, I create an entirely new open instead of simply augmenting what I’ve already made. But this time, I decided to keep part of the open and just change the ending. I never really liked the ending the way that it was anyway, and this gave me an excuse to change what I don’t like and keep what I do. I’ve also added other adjustments throughout each episode, like a few minor tweeks to the “coming up next segment” and color theme adjustment throughout the show. Also, a few new “Hear the call to Christ” promos have been created featuring the voice of Katie. We’ve had the “hear the call to Christ” promos since the beginning of the series. These promos highlight the type of music we play on the show, ending with our slogan. It is our hope and prayer that through the series that viewers hear the call to Christ! When you begin watching these episodes of CMV with new adjustments, try to look for other things we’ve changed. I’ve mentioned only a few here, but there are a other things that I’ll just leave for you to find on your own. Even though I like the way the show looks and how it is put together, every once in a while, change is good. A show should evolve over time, right? It seems like I spend so much time making the show, that I don’t have time for adjustments. I’m glad I found a little bit of time to make a few minor ones. DECEMBER 2010 M O N T H L Y N E W S L E T T E R ISSUE NO. 144

Every now and again I decide that it is time to make a few adjustments to the weekly episodic series, “Christian Music Videos”.

The beginning of

the open will be the same as it has been, but you’ll notice a change to the ending.

Also, a few new “Hear the call to Christ” promos have been

created featuring the voice of Katie.

CMV Series AdjustmentsImage from the new CMV show open

We’re happy to bring you 4 new episodes of “Christian Music Videos” this month. If you were following the show last year, you might remember that we took two months, off during December and January, and ran reruns during the Christmas season. Not so this year. This year, we’re continuing with brand new episodes of CMV along with a few new music videos as well. The week of December 6th, Katie spins hits from the Chi Alpha table at the annual fall kick off for Western Michigan University, “Bronco Bash”. In this episode, Katie interviews campus pastor, Scott Shank, about what it is like to minister on a college campus. The week of December 13th, features our Christmas episode as Surgeon reminds viewers about the God we serve. True, it isn’t the typical topic of Christmas, but watch and you’ll see how Surgeon ties everything in. In week three, the week of December 20th, Katie takes the helm once again and interviews Gregg Ryan from Addison Road right before their performance! Hear from the lead guitarist as he answers her

questions and shares what it is like to sing for the glory of Christ. Finally, the week of December 27th, Katie shares a fresh “revelation” she had about the Tree of Life, right from her Chi Alpha office on Western’s campus. See the hub of her on campus Christian ministry where Katie spends a lot of her time. Watch these episodes of CMV this month and catch first run music videos from Lara Landon and Runaway City!

And never forget, if you have a prayer request and would like Surgeon to pray for you, just email [email protected] and he will be happy to pray for you. Don’t worry if you think your request is too big or too small. If it is important to you, then it is important to God. Be sure to put “Prayer Request” in the subject line so that I don’t miss it. I know that we try to put the call out to you in every episode of CMV, but I want you to know that we’re always willing to pray for you - any time. Let Surgeon join you in faith by praying for you. It never hurts to have another person agreeing with you in prayer.

This month watch two video clips that, as far as the internet goes, are exclusive to Facebook fans. This month, not only will you be able to watch footage from two events where CMV was shot for December, but you’ll also see an interview from the lead guitarist of Addison Road!

On Monday, December 6th, watch a video clip featuring footage from the annual Bronco Bash event on the campus of Western Michigan University. During this annual event, the campus ministry, Chi Alpha, had a table set up. Chi Alpha, is the ministry that our VJ, Katie works with where she and campus pastor Scott Shank handed out all of their materials just half way through the event! Watch video of Bronco Bash and witness the official kick-off of the 2010 school year for the university!

On Monday, December 20th, watch Katie interview Gregg Ryan from Addison Road. It has been years since we’ve interviewed a national Christian artist for the show. Catch the interview in the episode of CMV the week of the 20th, and/or log on to facebook to see the interview that will be on the show as well as footage from the concert!

Become a fan of the series on Facebook (also known as “liking” the series). By becoming a fan of “Christian Music Videos”, you’ll get frequent updates on what’s new with the series. You can also send messages to Surgeon and Katie if you wish. And now you can watch exclusive video clips from episodes of CMV only revealed to Facebook fans. Not into Facebook? You can also email the show any of your comments, questions, or prayer requests at [email protected]. We’d love to hear what you think about the show!

“Chronicles” author writes new book

Christian and science fiction writer, Rick Chambers, has been a part of KTF Productions for several years now. He hosted the 13-minute video promotion for “Campus Generation”, our Christian talkshow series that we did in 1997. He plays the voice of “Glacus” in the currently running “Rezin Dramatic Audio Series”. And he was a writer for the Christian science fiction series, “Chronicles”. His first major book, “Radiance” presents “A desperate search for ten people with a gift that could stop a conspiracy and change the fate of two worlds”. Our heartfelt congratulations to Rick!

This month, we’re giving away another free Christian CD from “Christian Music Videos”! So don’t forget to enter.

Be one of 3 people to win the CD from Nina Llopis - Un-veiled (Part-one). Nina is an indie artist that I hadn’t heard of before she contacted the show. I watched her music video, which you’ll be able to see in a future episode of CMV, and was blown away! I love the sound and I love the lyrics. I really hope that she goes far. The free CD only has 4 tracks on it, but they are all powerful. The track “Thy Kingdom Come” has been produced into a music video which is the song I

mentioned will be on the show. I highly recommend this CD. You can also check out her myspace site to see for yourself.

For a chance to win the CD, all you need to do is enter, and its totally free. And when I say free, I mean FREE! Just visit ktfproductions.com to find out how to enter. And remember... If you've entered before and haven't won, enter again. Even if you have won, you can enter too. There is no limit as to how many times you can win. But you can't win if you don't enter! (Please note: All entries must be from within the United States.)

Congratulations to last months winners: Jack R. - Indiana

This month, listen to two new Rezin webisodes - webisode 48, “Separation” and webisode 49, “Cost of Commitment”!

Webisode 48 features the voices of Kelly McMeekan (Susan), Brian Woodman (Rezin), and Shawna Smith (Mariah), narrated by David Evans.

Webisode 49 includes the voices of Clenten Sims (Kilroy), Larry Long (Harwin), Brian Woodman (Rezin) and Kelly McMeekan (Susan), also narrated by David Evans.

Preliminary efforts have been made to include Rezin audio episodes on YouTube along with it’s video counterparts. It has been slow going because there are several other activities - some of which are related to KTF Productions and some that are not - that are taking time and attention. It is my hope that something substantial will be posted as early as next month.

Although I didn’t really work on “The Wartleys” last month, graphic designer, Philip Stephens did. As you can see above, he was busy working on the restaurant where Adam works, and he has done an amazing job. I’ve animated scenes in the restaurant area before with the existing materials that I had from Cartoon Solutions. But I was quite limited as to what I could do in the space. The cartoon characters have limitations as to what they can do and how they can be positioned. The original restaurant had limitations as well which didn’t compliment what the characters could do. So I asked Philip to design the restaurant in a way that would compliment the limitations of my characters and he went far beyond the call of duty. Not only did he give me two spectacular views of the restaurant, allowing for wide angles and panning shots, but he also added a new element that I haven’t used in any of

the episodes of “The Wartleys” to date. Now I have the ability to do trucking shots - moving the camera, giving the illusion that the chairs and tables exist in 3D space. So when the camera moves, the elements within the frame react as well! I would like to give a heartfelt “thank you” to Philip for all of the hard work he has put into the scenes. When the episodes are created, I hope you can appreciate his work as much as I do.

Also, our other graphic designer, Paul Wycliffe, designed and customized a view of the restaurant that you have undoubtably seen in previous episodes of “The Wartleys”. Philip was able to use that work along with the work from Cartoon Solutions to extrapolate what the rest of the restaurant should look like. I can’t wait to use what he has created.

Also last month, Philip created a brand new character as a Christmas present to me that I

can use in the series and/or the comics. I think he did an amazing job. Though I haven’t decided exactly what I’ll do with her yet, I love the way she turned out and I’m sure you’ll agree that she fits right into the world of “The Wartleys” perfectly. Thanks again Philip!
