DESCRIPTION

Spouse Information Meetings, or SIMs, are held in both the north and south regions on a monthly basis. The focus of these meetings is on installation and community matters. SIMs North meetings are conducted on the first Monday of every month, 9:30-10:30 a.m., at the Nehelani Club, Schofield Barracks.

• Verification of Common Access Card (CAC) or other recognized valid ID card– Photograph on card matched to individual in possession of card – Includes visual check of card to verify authenticity

• Personnel not in possession of CAC or other recognized valid ID card sent to visitor control center (Lyman gate, Buckner gate, TAMC gate) to receive day pass– Driver’s license, vehicle registration, proof of insurance, and safety

inspection checked for validity

• Marine Corps Base Hawaii, all USMC installations (Camp Smith, etc):– If the person entering is military and has NO DoD vehicle decal,

access will be granted with CAC– If the person entering is civilian, a sponsor is required and they must

obtain a visitor's pass – If DoD vehicle decal is present, regardless where the DoD decal

was issued, CAC or other authorized ID card is also required

• Bellows AFB: – CAC or other authorized ID is required for access– Bellows AFB does not require DoD vehicle decal for access– Bellows AFB does not issue DoD vehicle decals

• Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam (JBPHH):– Requires CAC or other authorized ID card AND DoD vehicle decal for

access– Those without DOD vehicle decal will be required to use the visitor

control center for a day pass– JBPHH issues DoD vehicle decal to military (includes their family

members and retired military), civil service (with DoD CAC), contractor personnel (with DoD CAC) assigned to JBPHH

– Procedures for retired US military personnel not assigned to JBPHH:• No DES screening/recommendation required• Applicants report to the Nimitz (JBPHH) Pass and ID office (located at 1250 South

Drive Bldg. 3455, Honolulu, HI 96818; hours of operation: Mon-Fri, 0730-1530, 808-471-2197 or 808-471-9140

• Current driver’s license, vehicle registration, proof of safety inspection, valid

insurance are required

– Procedures for military and their family members assigned to Reserve and National Guard units:• No DES screening/recommendation required• Applicants report to the Nimitz (JBPHH) Pass and ID office (located

at 1250 South Drive Bldg. 3455, Honolulu, HI 96818; hours of operation: Mon-Fri, 0730-1530, 808-471-2197 or 808-471-9140

• Current military or dependent ID card required• DD 1409 signed and approved by their reserve unit-authorizing

official• Current driver’s license, vehicle registration, proof of safety

inspection, valid insurance are required– JBPHH agreed to provide DoD decals to Soldiers and their family

members those who frequent JBPHH – Approval of request will be based on required or desired usage.

– Procedures for Soldiers and their family members not assigned to JBPHH:

• DES screening and recommendation required• Applicants report to BLDG 79, Schofield Barracks (email option to get request) • Current driver’s license, vehicle registration, proof of safety inspection, valid

insurance are required

– Personnel requesting a decal will be screened/vetted by DES who will then issue a memorandum to JBPHH Access Control Office. Soldiers and family members can obtain the required documents at building 79, Schofield Barracks, near Foote gate, 808-655-8405, Mon-Fri, 0800-1600 or by e-mail at [email protected] to obtain the electronic request document. Completed request document will need to be turned in CPL Javier at building 79, Schofield Barracks

– Once/if the request has been recommended for approval and signed, the memorandum can be picked up at building 79 or can be emailed to the applicant

• Personally owned firearm registration will be done at either the Schofield Barracks or Fort Shafter PMO

• All personally owned firearms must first be registered with Honolulu Police Department IAW Hawaii Statute.– Bring personally owned firearms to HPD HQ in a case (without

ammo) to register within 72 hours of the personally owned firearms arriving on the island

– Bring the HPD registration to either PMO to register on post (don’t bring the personally owned firearms) within those same 72 hours

– Maintain the registration paperwork; you will need it when you PCS
