The eCHAM Website https://access.echam.org This website allows you to access the

eCHAM online! Log in with the Username and Password

assigned to you during training with your THO.

If you don’t have an account, contact us at [email protected] to set one up. We will need your first and last name, work

phone, work email and organization. An account can be set up same day M-F.

The iCHAM eCHAM iPad App Available on the Apple App Store! Search for: iCHAM, eCHAM, ANTHC or CHAP to find it. Log in with the same Username and Password as the

one you use for the website. Once it is downloaded and the content is updated, you

do not need to be online to use this app! You will need to connect your iPad to WiFi to receive

iCHAM updates and to save your notes, highlights, bookmarks to the website.

Notes, bookmarks and highlights made on the website and iPad app are transferrable, they will show up in both places as long as you connect your iPad to WiFi after you’ve made personalizations on either product!!

The eCHAM eBook Available for download to your iPad, Kindle, Kindle for

PC program, most any other e-reader. For Kindle:

Rapid Exam Added specific features of the skin to look

Changed details of when to give and not give Aspirin during an emergency.

Patient Care Visit Circulatory

Added details regarding when patient can be given sublingual nitroglycerin.

Added specific questions regarding potential drug use to HPI.

Added history questions to following sections: SOB with Chest Pain regarding

immobilization, travel, bed rest. Heart problems regarding heart stents,

surgery, valve problems and implanted devices.

Additional exam features of legs if found to be tender.

If history of leg edema, inquire about cancer history. If leg edema is found, measure both sides. A note that any illness, with or without fever can

cause elevated heart rate. Recheck when taking iron, added questions about

abdominal pain and constipation. Changed wording about rheumatic fever questions

to heart valve problem. Added information to patient education about

pacemakers and defibrillators and when to report problems to your CHA/P.

Patient Care Visit Ear

Added qualifiers to question about how quickly ear pain came on in HPI.

Added suggestions about when and how to use telemedicine and what to include in a case.

Added tympanometry test to suspected AOM, perforation, SOM and hearing loss.

Added additional report now conditions to the ear chapter.

Patient Care Visit Ear (cont’d)

Changed recheck dates for a number of conditions.

Added information to patient education on ear injuries about healing process.

Added details about referrals when patients suffer from unresolving SOM.

Changed patient education regarding ear plugs and follow up for patients with PE tubes.

Patient Care Visit Added details regarding when patients

should be reported to ENT. Added information about how to apply

ear drops with Otitis Externa. Added information in assessment chart

about when to describe SOM as acute or chronic.

Patient Care Visit Digestive

Changed Stool Guaiac to Fit Test under labs in multiple sections throughout the Digestive Chapter.

Removed Ranitidine from drug choice for patient with vomiting during pregnancy. Added Ranitidine to patient with GERD.

Defined Jaundice in Digestive 14: Patient Ed. Added to Digestive 14: Info for CHA/P-clarified

details regarding sexual transmission of Hepatitis C as well as incubation periods for Hepatitis C from weeks to days for increased accuracy.

Patient Care Visit Digestive (cont’d)

Added details to Hepatitis A, B, C on Common Types of Viral Hepatitis Table.

Rewrite of information regarding blood draw and reminder letters for patients with Hepatitis B and C.

Updated information in Hepatitis in Alaska Natives table.

Changed information about labs ordered for patients with chronic Hepatitis.

Added information about new medications available for Hepatitis C.

Added information about Carrier or Hepatitis C Positive patients.

Patient Care Visit Nervous System

Added additional questions about head injury. Added checking for tenderness to back of

head with head injuries. Added information about sleeping after

seizures Added exam step for seizures. Added details about how to help patients with

missed seizure med doses. Added details about daily living abilities for

patients requiring chronic stroke care.

Medicine Replaced Acyclovir with Valacyclovir.

Plans: Female 8,9; Male 5,6; Skin/Soft Tissue 5,6.

Amoxicillin Changed from 250mg to 500mg capsules;

changed dosing tables accordingly. Changed dosing frequency for Acute Otitis

Media.

Medicine Cephalexin

Changed from 250mg to 500mg capsules, changed dosing accordingly.

Added to Breast 4. Removed from Ear 6, Nose 2. Changed dosing frequency based on current

recommendations from Infectious Disease specialists at ANMC.

Dicloxacillin replaced by Cephalexin in all plans, so it has been removed from the eCHAM.

Medicine Ferrous Sulfate

Changed strength from 1mg/0.6ml to 1mg/1ml and dosing accordingly.

Pediatric Multi-Vitamins Changed from Tri to Poly vitamins, added

strength and names of additional vitamins included.

Calamine Lotion Added back into the eCHAM.

Artificial Tears Adjusted dosing to eliminate ranges and

become Joint Commission compliant.
