FLOW ~ VINYASA YOGA (ACTIVE MOVEMENT CLASSES)

Ashtanga ~ The Ashtnaga Led Primary Series is a vigorous & challenging Vinyasa practice ~ with an emphasis on refinement of postures & breath. This class explores deeper elements such as bandhas, drishti & ujayi pranayama. Ashtanga Basics introduces students to roughly half of the Primary Series postures, focusing on the form and integrity in asana, breath, and posture transitions. This class offers both a comfortable introduction for students new to the practice, as well as an opportunity for regular Ashtanga students to focus on details.

Yang Vinyasa ~ A spicy, more energized Vinyasa flow class that will physically challenge you. A variety of asanas are incorporated to keep the body & mind engaged. Prepare to sweat!

Vinyasa Flow ~ A steady flow of yoga postures in which movement is coordinated with the breath. This practice moves at a more moderate pace, a bit slower than Ashtanga and Yang vinyasas, with additional focus on refinement and alignment of postures.

EMBODIED ~ VINYASA FLOW (SOFTER MOVEMENT CLASSES)

Embodied Vinyasa Flow ~ An asana/flow class centered around experiential anatomy & somatic principles which supports conscious, free, easeful movement. This movement meditation allows the student to observe habits, increase body awareness, enhance motor learning, sharpen mental focus & increase overall understanding of themselves & the world around them.

Candle Light Flow ~ Come wash away the week and prepare for a great weekend with a regenerative flow class. We will move mindfully and almost dance through a slow deep flow.

This class will clear the mind and open the senses with a combination of asana, pranayama, and kriya and end with a long relaxing Savasana. All levels.

FORM & FUNDAMENTALS (STRUCTURE & ALIGNMENT CLASSES)

Fundamentals ~ Explore the basics of yoga in a steady, mindful manner while developing the breath. Progressively develops strength, flexibility & body intelligence through asana while

elements of vinyasa, pranayama and meditation are introduced. Props are often used in this practice.

Yoga Core ~ Poses that awaken, strengthen & stabilize your body’s core in an Iyengar practice. Poses are refined with the use of props. Some prior yoga recommended.

Iyengar ~ Focus is on correct posture, alignment & symmetry. Poses are refined with the use of props. Beginner- Level 1 focuses on standing postures, & preps for inversions. Levels 1 thru 2 delve into more advanced postures and extended time in inversions.

Wall Ropes Class ~ Discover wall ropes in the Iyengar tradition and open the shoulders, increase upper body awareness, broaden your range of motion, as you deepen your experience of inversions, back bends and other poses. Be sure to check that ropes are securely in place and that a teacher is in the studio prior to using. A minimum of 1 year of prior yoga is required.

SOMATIC YOGA (SUBTLE YOGIC EXPLORATIONS)

Soma Yoga ~ Unravel tension, increase mobility and create new pathways. Gentle, fluid movement sequences incorporate lying on the floor, prone, supine and side lying to provide an exploration in subtle awareness. Asana is rarely incorporated, but sometimes offered. Discover the joy of full embodiment, ease of movement and peaceful expression.

Chakra Yoga ~ Immerse yourself in devotional chanting and meditative movement in this class. We’ll begin each class by offering a short sequence of salutations to the sun before we slow everything down for a deep asana meditation on the chakras. All levels.

Restorative ~ A quiet, inward focused, cooling practice that uses supported passive postures to deeply relax the body, replenish prana (or energy) and restore clarity to the mind. A great class for all levels including beginners.

Sound Healing Meditation ~ Experience the healing power of sound through chanting, toning, mantra, with singing bowls or harmonium. Connect the breath & sound to create a deeply relaxed meditative state. Discussion of principles included. The practice includes seated active meditation and supported restorative postures with guided visualiztion & sound.

Yoga Nidra ~ This inspired meditative practice will enliven your being by taking you on a journey of deep rest, nourishment and relaxation. Tap into new sources of energy by allowing yourself time to simply be. A perfect way to wind down your day and let go of stress. All levels.

Yoga for Women ~ Designed to honor being a woman through gentle, nurturing asana & ancient yogic wisdom. Poses focus on the Endocrine system and the Pelvic Floor. All levels.

Therapeutic Yoga ~ Learn how to adapt & modify postures ~ recommended for those working to recover range of motion from prior injuries, learning how to intelligently re-engage after full recovery from surgery, and older students needing to modify their practice.

6 Wk Intro to Ayurvedic Anatomy ~ Ayurvedic Anatomy is a fascinating view of the human organism through the prism of the ancient science of Ayurveda. We will navigate the body on pathways of energy and learn to recognize ourselves as complex and miraculous products of very simple substance. The goal is to cultivate a vivid awareness of the utmost state of health and vitality. Students are required to have taken Kathleen’s previous 6 Wk Course or have studied basic Ayurvedic foundations prior to taking this series.

6 Wk Soul Weave Series ~ Intuitive study and development. Connect with your inner wisdom on your path to remembering and knowing who you truly are. This class taps into your sensate, emotional, mental and spiritual intelligence and it will invoke deep understanding and healing. Experience the interconnectivity of life and find your unique place in the balance.

8 Wk Chakra Therapy Series ~ Explore the pyschology of the chakras to gain insight about your habits and learn practices that develop self-understanding and acceptance. Clarity is gained to help shift defeating behaviors and self- awareness is cultivated. This series will focus on the chakras, discussion, meditation and pranayama ~ but will not include physical asana.

TANTRA COURSE

6 Wk Tantra Yoga Course ~ Explore ways of letting go of habitual patterns, blockages and tensions in the physical and subtle bodies, identifications that no longer serve and surrendering the ego as a practice for daily life. We will learn to cultivate an intimacy with self, others and ultimately the present moment. 1. Inner asana. 2. Witness consciousness. 3. Surrender/letting go. We will discuss how hatha yoga relates to each of these intentions and breakdown the 2 different styles of hatha yoga practiced in the course – used to bring balance to both the masculine and feminine energies located within us all. Course meets for two and a half hours, twice weekly for six weeks - a total of twelve sessions.

MEDITATION CLASSES

Mindfulness Meditation ~ Sitting in sangha, ease into your week with a combination of guided meditation, chant or mantra, followed by a silent sitting practice. Geared toward the Vipassana lineage this hour long practice includes time for Q & A. Appropriate for both the beginner and advanced practitioner. Drop-in format.

DANCE & MOVEMENT CLASSES

Belly Dancing ~ Learn Egyptian belly dance, incorporating fluid patterns & sharp articulations as you begin to move in new and different ways. Let the movement and rhythms guide you in a dance shared throughout time & across continents. All levels welcome.

Nia™ Dance Movement ~ An energizing, body-friendly cardio workout blending elements of aerobics, modern and jazz dance, martial arts, yoga, healing bodywork, expressive movement, and powerful imagery.
