Hello Pilots,

Do you have the Christmas spirit?   I started thinking about,

"what really is this special spirit?" -generous giving of

time and money; helping those less fortunate than ourselves;

 caring for others; and gathering with friends and family.  It

came to me, this is what Pilot is all about!  Pilots have this

special spirit all year long.

It is intensified this time of year because those around us

seem to be more in tune to the needs of others.  Our

challenge is keeping this excitement, to do goodwill for

others, ongoing way beyond the holiday season.  So if

someone asks you if you have the Christmas spirit, you can

honestly say "Always!"

Some of the Gainesville Scholarship House Residents will be joining us at our January Meeting as the Guest Speaker to share with us and the Anchors about living in the Scholarship House. We will be giving

them the collected "household items" at that meeting to take back to Gainesville - so we need to make sure the box is FULL of supplies!!

Anchors will be asked to bring items to the January

meeting, but Pilots can bring items each month!

If you use it in your home, then the girls in the

Scholarship House can use it as well - buy one

extra to donate!

We will have a Gift Exchange but ask that the gift be something "OTHER THAN" Christmas themed…..so go find that special EVERYDAY gift item for around $10-15 and bring it wrapped

and ready to give away!

We are joining the FL District in this Pilot International Fundraiser to raise monies for our Grants & Scholarships. As a result, we too

have our very own "PIGG" that we have adopted and names " Precious" to help in our efforts. Each Meeting we are to "feed"

Precious with any loose change or bills tha we may have. in turn she will join us at all of our events throughout the year, after all,

she is a Pilot PIGG!!!

Pilot International has created the Safe Harbor Fund to raise emergency funds for individual Pilot

Members affected by natural disasters.

The 12th Place Team (ouf of 20 Teams) are the Ocala Anchor Clubs raising

$550 so far

To Date all of the Ocala Teams together have raised $35,989.02

The 3rd Place Team (out of 20 Teams) is Pilot Club Of Ocala raising $1656

so far (1st Place Team raised $2278.12)

As you may remember we participated in the Alzheimers Walk in October. Money is still being turned in to the Alzheimers

Association to be tallied for this fundraiser.

TIME TO FIND NEW OFFICERS The Nominating Committee will be

chosen at the January Joint Meeting and will quickly be looking for members to

"Step Up" and lead our Pilot Club for the 2013-2014 year. Will you be on their

list one of those that are "Stepping Up"? Now is the time, to use your talents and

lead our club!
