Communities In Schools FRIENDRAISER
Barclays Bank on the waterfront in Wilmington hosted the CIS inaugural
Friendraiser event. Bill Milliken, Founder of Communities In Schools was on
hand to speak to a slew of private corporations, state
representatives, mentors, higher education institutes,
school staff and other community members about the
importance of the CIS mission and building strong
relationships with students. Students from William Penn and
East Side Charter also spoke about their involvement with CIS
and what their relationship with CIS staff meant to their
success as young people. It was a truly inspiring night to see
the great work of state directors and project coordinators
throughout the state of Delaware. It is such important work
and fundraising is so crucial in keeping non-profits like CIS
running! All attendees received Bill Millikens From the Rearview Mirror, his
newest book. Board chair Kate McGlinchey wrote these words following the
event, Never have I felt as proud as I did last night to be associated with such
fine group of individuals. I thank you most sincerely for a
you do. It was an honor and a pleasure to be p
of your inaugural friend raiser event. Look
forward to many more. To give to CIS of
