Fiscal year July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020. Cost of

operation of the church and school is supplemented

by wills, endowments, grants, Bishop’s Appeal over-

age, and other offerings to the parish.

From Bishop Rhoades

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Pope Francis has asked that the whole Church

revive her missionary awareness and commit-

ment during the month of October this year.

The theme of this missionary month is Baptized

and Sent: The Church of Christ on Mission to the

World. During this month we will also celebrate

World Mission Sunday next weekend, and we

will take up at all Masses in the diocese the an-

nual collection for the Society for the Propaga-

tion of the Faith.

While we are all called through our baptism to

become missionary disciples who spread the

Good News of Jesus Christ among our families,

friends, neighbors and co-workers, next week-

end, October 19 and 20, we will have a con-

crete opportunity to support the missionary

work of the Church throughout the world

through the annual collection for the Society

for the Propagation of the Faith. This collection

benefits more than 1,100 dioceses in Asia, Af-

rica, Latin America and the Pacific, an area

that covers more than half of the territory of the

globe. I ask you to be as generous as possible

with this collection so that the Church may con-

tinue to proclaim Christ to the ends of the

earth.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Most Reverend Kevin C. Rhoades

Propagation of the Faith envelopes;

Visiting missionary to speak We will have two opportunities to support the Church’s missionary work: Next weekend, Octo-ber 19-20th, with the collection for World Mission Sunday and the following weekend, October 26-27th, with Fr. Thomas Carroll visiting to tell us about the work of his religious order.

In order to raise funds for their 8th grade class trip to our nation’s capital, the kids will be selling walking tacos, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chicken soup, water, soda pop, coffee and those large individual dill pickles! Mmmm! (They will be next to the Boys Scouts’ French Fries booth). Meal service will begin at 11:00 a.m. and continue until supplies run out.

Everyone in the parish is welcome to join! Meetings are held each month on the second Monday at 6:30 p.m. in the Sr. Margaret Rose Room. The group is working on Advent 2019. We would love to see many people there with ideas for our future growth.
