INCLUDE HOLY FAMILY IN YOUR WILL & as a Memorial at the time of the death of a loved one.

DEAR PARISHIONERS:

This Monday, March 20th, is the Feast of St. Joseph. It is one of the two Solemnities that we celebrate during Lent, the other one being the An-nunciation of the Lord, March 25th. St. Joseph was that great man of faith, the one called upon by the Lord to raise Je-sus & be the husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary. He helped to form Jesus in the ways of faith & in being a man. Jesus had such wonderful examples in his mother & foster father. In reflecting on St. Joseph, I recall another man named Joseph---my dad. This past March 6th was the 5th anni-versary of his death. I still miss him a lot, as does my dear mom. And I know he is with the Lord in eternal life because he embodied so many of the same qualities as St. Joseph---his compassion, love, faith, sacrifice, giving, patience, understanding, guidance, discipline, wisdom, mercy, etc. I was very privileged to have a dad that showed me in the flesh who St. Joseph was. But we don’t have to be named Joseph to show to oth-ers the beautiful qualities of this most special saint. All of us can be a reflection of St. Joseph. Just think about it---St. Joseph cared for Jesus. That is something each one of us can do----CARE FOR THE JESUS IN OUR MIDST. The Jesus present in others needs to be loved---we can do that. The Jesus present in others needs to be shown mercy & compassion---we can do that. The Jesus present in others needs to experience patience & understanding--- we can do that. So, this week, in which we celebrate that great Solem-nity of St. Joseph, let us thank God for Joseph’s care for Jesus & the Blessed Virgin Mary----& for us. ST. JOSEPH, PRAY FOR US! YOUR PASTOR, FATHER JOSEPH
