Dear Parents and Friends,

On behalf of the DHS Choral Department, I extend to you a hearty welcome to our Christmas Concert.

Approximately 140 students of the DHS student body has participate in one of our four choral ensembles the first semester. Membership in our organization affords students with the ability to learn goal setting, concentrating, taking responsibility, conforming as a group, quick decision making and thriving under pressure.

This year we are traveling to Hawaii. Students will participate in the memorial parade on the 7th of December to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Last spring we traveled to Disney in Florida. The previous year we traveled to Greece and Turkey. Students presented a concert at the end of a church service in Athens, also visiting Patmos, Ancient Ephesus, and Mykonos. When current seniors were freshman, our students traveled to New York and participated in a performance/master class at the Metropolitan Opera Guild, located in the Lincoln Center in Manhattan.

Four scholarships will be awarded at this year’s spring concert, totaling $3,700.00. Your $3.00 admission today makes those scholarships possible.
