In fact the events are so plentiful during December, you may want to come more than once. The lavish yet casually inviting Victorian estate at Garrett Mountain on Valley Rd. in Paterson was built in 1892 by silk magnate Catholina Lambert. Events include: • On Dec. 9 at 7 pm, the holiday season will kick off with a wine tasting party, featuring wines from across the globe. Reservations are required for this event, which costs $50 and includes hors d’oeuvres, buffet and dessert. • On Dec. 10 and 11, join in on self- guided candlelight tours of the Castle, which features beautifully decorated rooms, Christmas trees and gingerbread creations. Lambert Castle will be at its most festive levels, festooned with lush greenery and arrangements created by local florists, complete with holiday music and refreshments. Admission $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $8 for children over 6. Hours are as follows: Dec. 10, 6 to 9 pm, Dec. 11, 1 to 4 pm and 6 to 9 pm. • The self-guided tours of the Castle continue on Wednesday through Sunday from 1 to 4 pm from Dec. 17 to Jan. 8. Admission $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $6 for children over 6. • Santa and Mrs. Claus will be present for storytelling on Dec. 17 at 11 am. This event is recommended for children under 10 years old. Admission $15 for one adult and one child; additional adults and children $5 each. Refreshments will be served. Space is limited to 50 children, so reservations are required. • New Year’s Champagne Toast with ‘The Lamberts’ will be held on Dec. 30, from 7 to 9 pm. The couple will graciously entertain guests at their elegant Victorian Castle. Champagne, sumptuous desserts and fine entertainment will abound. Admission $25 per person. Space limited to 125 people. Saxophonist Sabir Mateen and hisband, Omni Sound, will close out

the 2011 Silk City Jazz Festival with

a performance at the Paterson Free

trumpet, Hillard Greene on bass, and

The New Legacy Concert Series,now in its 10th season, will feature

the Alexis P. Suter Band on Jan. 29 at

scouts and opportunities for the

completion of Eagle Scout and

American Labor Merit Badge Projects

as well as Junior, Brownie, Cadette

and Senior Girl Scout Interest Projects.

The American Labor Museum/Botto

House National Landmark was the

meeting place for over 20,000 silk mill

workers during the 1913 Paterson Silk

Strike. The Museum offers a free

lending library, changing exhibits,

Old World Gardens, educational and

cultural programs and special events.

Hours are Monday through Friday, 9

am to 5 pm. Tours are offered

Wednesday through Saturday, 1 to 4
