INTRODUCTION
As the integration of ASEAN 2015 and the ASEAN Economic Community is fast approaching, the private enterprise sector in the Lao economy is growing rapidly with many companies looking for qualified young employees to help expand their businesses.
Business education and language training is expanding in Laos, which is essential in the development of the country’s economy. However, many students are uncertain of where their studies will take them next, and an extreme lack of awareness exists regarding the role of private sector enterprises as well as career opportunities available in Laos. On the other hand, companies have a difficult task to communicate with students, to explain the content of jobs, corporate training programs to provide a variety of job skills, opportunities for international mobility and step by step career paths to become managers. The mission of the Vientiane Career Fair is to bridge this
communication gap between students and companies. This year, we have also invited NGOs and educational institutions to bridge
the gap between even more organizations and students. We are pleased to bring you the 3rd Annual Vientiane Career Fair, with over 50 companies, NGOs, and educational institutions offering their support, participation and sponsorship in this 2‐day event. The organizations represent a cross section of the Lao economy ranging from telecommunication to banks, cars to financial services, educational opportunities both locally and internationally, to pizzas and ice cream! We hope you will be able to meet all of the companies and
organizations to explore the endless opportunities available with

ABOUT THE VIENTIANE CAREER FAIR
The First Vientiane Career Fair started as a Class project in the Business Degree Program at the Lao-American College in the Spring of 2011 with 50 students and 2 staff members. The objective was to organize a job-fair to bridge the communication gap between students & companies; for students to express ambitions and for companies to explain career paths and opportunities. The 1st Vientiane Career Fair at the Vientiane Plaza Hotel was a great success with 25 companies representing a cross section of the Lao private sector and attracting about 2000 visitors. Companies were delighted to use this event also as a business exhibition, and it soon expanded from a 1 day event to a 2 day “show”. The 2nd Annual Vientiane Career Fair had more companies, some NGO’s, Schools offering Masters degrees and Scholarships and workshops on CV preparation, English pronunciation, interviewing techniques for FREE. The 3rd Annual Vientiane Career Fair will be bigger and better, having more Companies, more Educational Establishments offering opportunities for students of all backgrounds and interests. The Vientiane Career Fair is organized by volunteer staff members and 50 student volunteers; it is a self-financing event with no subsidies from NGO's or Governments, depending solely on business and education sponsors renting booths to finance its operations. Formed in the early nineties as a Lao-Swedish joint venture, Burapha AgroForestry has spearheaded the development of the plantation forestry sector in Laos. Burapha established the first commercial plantation in Laos already in 1990. In
1996, Burapha established the first nursery in the country that could produce cuttings from selected Eucalyptus and Acacia clones. In 1999, the Company took the next step and invested in a sawmill and a furniture factory.
Today, Burapha is the only manufacturer in Laos that uses plantation wood only for its production.
