Took all the advice

Followed conventional wisdom

Got a job at a Company –

And are WORKING HARD – HARDER THAN YOU EVER IMAGINED…..


In A Tailspin?


Lesson #1 – THERE IS NO PLAN

YOUR CAREER PATH

You thought you had done it all right.

You:

Put your nose to the grind stone (so to say)

Got really busy

Sucked it up

Paid your dues

And it feels as if things have not worked out,

Or have they?


There is No Plan – But There Are Choices

Instrumental Reasons:

You think (hope?) it will lead to something else, regardless of whether you enjoy it or it is “worthwhile”

Fundamental Reasons:

You think it is inherently valuable (regardless of what it may lead to)

Lesson #4 – PERSISTENCE TRUMPS TALENT

Yes, talent IS important…..(which is why you must identify your strengths)

But…. talent alone will not get it done.
