What is debate? Debate is a formal contest of arguments on a controversial issue. There are two sides to the conversation: the armative and the negative. The armative defends this action while the negative opposes it through presenting its current and potential drawbacks. To debate, one needs substantial evidence and counters to back his or hers arguments. High school debaters in the US prepare for regional and national tournaments by researching and writing cases for both sides of a monthly topic. Important Reminder: Our club mainly covers two types of debate: Public Forum and Lincoln Douglas debate. For more information, please visit our website. Why debate? It can change your life.
