Shipping Options New for the 2019-2020 school year, we are offering FREE SHIPPING TO YOUR SCHOOL YEAR-ROUND! At check-out, you will have the following options:

1) Ship to School – Free Shipping Orders will ship the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month and will be available for pick-up at the school 3 business days after shipping (day may vary based on school closing due to snow day, holiday, etc.). Orders must be received by Wednesday at 8 a.m. to be included in the Friday shipment. OR

2) Ship to Home – Shipping Fees Will Apply Orders will arrive within 7-10 business days. You will be charged shipping for this option.

Parental Partnership: Uniform Dress Code It is the belief of the Summerfield Charter Academy Board of Directors and National Heritage Academies that wearing the school uniform creates a positive learning environment for all students. Uniforms instill in students a sense of belonging and loyalty to the school community. Wearing uniforms improves student productivity and behavior by de-emphasizing fashion and diminishing and socio-economic status. For most families, purchasing uniforms is more economical than buying a typical student wardrobe. Uniforms also reduce family conflicts over what to wear or buy. Uniforms also serve school safety, since Summerfield Charter Academy students are easily identified and anyone not in uniform is easily spotted on our campus. Parents can purchase the school uniform directly from our designated suppliers and ensure their student wears the approved uniform daily and properly. Only uniform items may be worn to school.

General Expectations Students are expected to abide by the following:

• Shirts: Shirts must be free from logos. Shirt choices are limited to short or long-sleeve bright green, navy, or white polo shirts. Shirts must be tucked neatly into bottoms at all times. All clothing must be sized properly, so items are not overly baggy or tight. The brands are restricted to those noted below:

• Bright green polo shirts: Must be National Heritage Academies brand carried solely by Image Builders (website: http://shop.imagebuildersmktg.com/toll-free phone: 855 654 6243).

• Navy polo shirts: Must be either French Toast, Old Navy, or Lands End brands.

• White polo shirts: May be any brand that does not display a logo.

• Undershirts (t-shirts worn under uniform shirts): Undershirts must be white and fit appropriately under the uniform shirts. Undershirts may not have longer sleeves than uniform shirts.

• Pants/Capri Pants/Shorts/ Jumpers/Skirts and Skorts: These should be at least one inch longer than the fingertip when the student’s arms are hanging at sides, but not below the knee (except in the case of pants and capri pants) and free from carpenter loops or stripes. They must be khaki color in either French Toast, Old Navy, or Lands End brands. Corduroy or denim materials are not permitted. Shorts are not to be below the knee. Pants and shorts are not to be sagging (including PE shorts). All clothing must be sized properly, so items are not overly baggy or tight.

• Belts: All students in grades 2-8 are required to wear a black or brown belt with any uniform item that has belt loops. Belt loops may not be removed from pants or shorts to avoid wearing belts.

• Shoes: Shoes must be worn. Appropriate shoe styles would include loafers, dress shoes, and tennis shoes. Tennis shoes may be of any color the student chooses, while other shoes must be white, navy, black, or brown. Students are not permitted to wear boots, flip-flops, sandals, toeless shoes, backless shoes, platform shoes, or “crocs”.

• Socks: Socks must be solid black, brown, khaki color, navy, or white and worn with shoes. Socks may not have emblems or logos.

• Cover-ups/Sweaters: Only Lands End or French Toast navy blue outerwear including fleece and sweaters may be worn inside the school. The only sweatshirts permitted are navy blue, crew-neck spirit wear Summerfield Charter Academy (SCA) sweatshirts.

• Hair: Students’ hair must be kept neat and clean and should not obstruct their vision during class.

• Of Special Note to Girls:

• Tights: Solid colored white or navy tights on cold weather days with jumpers, skirts, and skorts are permitted. Socks must match tights. Leggings are not permitted. Tights may not be worn with shorts.

• Makeup: Makeup is prohibited for girls from grades K-5.

• Girls Jewelry: Girls may wear small post, non-dangling earrings or other pierced jewelry. Only ear piercings may be worn. A limited number of earrings, bracelets, and rings are permitted (principal and staff discretion). Other jewelry should be kept at home.

• Nail polish: Only natural nails and clear nail polish are permitted.

• Boys Jewelry: Boys may wear a limited number of bracelets, rings, and necklaces (principal and staff discretion). No earrings or other piercings may be worn by boys. Other jewelry should be kept at home.

• Exceptions for Middle School Students Only: Middle school students may wear a long or short-sleeve white dress shirt with a navy/bright green tie (the tie must be purchased through Image Builders). Additionally, middle school students may wear navy blue pants, capri pants, shorts, jumpers, skirts and skorts.

If your student is not following the uniform policy, you will be called to bring them the appropriate items. The school administration reserves the right to the final approval of dress code attire and apply the student code of conduct as necessary.
