Dear rising SMA senior and families,

Your senior year is approaching, and I am here to help you start it successfully.

If you have not done so, please register your email address at sarasotamilitaryacademy.org. Click on “Join Our Mailing List” on the Home page. We use this list and Facebook to communicate information.

SMA has a new Friday polo shirt for cadets and staff. As a senior, you have the option to purchase the new polo shirt from Children’s World or to wear the original white polo. New and gently-used white polos will be available for a reduced price at SMA while supplies last. Team polos are no longer authorized uniforms.

Senior schedule pick up will be on Wed., 10 August in the gym from 8:00-9:00am. Parking permits may be purchased in the Registrar’s office. Forms will be available for course change requests, but counselors will not be available for individual meetings until the first week of school.

As a senior, it is highly recommended that you make an appointment with your school counselor to review your academic requirements and options. This is critical so nothing is missed that could prevent you from graduating. If you are college bound, you need to know application deadlines for schools and FAFSA. Parents are welcome to attend. There are important deadlines that you do not want to miss.

If you have not yet become involved in something extracurricular, now is the time. It is never too late to start something new and interesting. Parents, please consider participating in the Parent/Teacher/Cadet Counsel this year.

I am excited about the new school year ahead. SMA has so much to offer you as a returning cadet and for your family. Take it all in and look for ways to grow!
