Dear Participants and Collaborators;
First of all I would like to welcome back and hope everyone has been able to have a little rest during the holidays. I also would not like to forget to give my most sincere congratulations and thanks to the participants and collaborators involved, you make this project possible.
As you may know from my emails showing the last Reports for both months, April and May of 2012, the Worldwide Donkey Breeds Project, is an initiative started by the AGR-218 Research Group from the Genetics Department of the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Córdoba.
As it followed in the emails, one of the most relevant aims of this project was to connect the entities, research groups, departments directly involved with the work on the donkey species, in order to arrange different activities which could lead the studies referent to this species to reach the development they should have nowadays taking into consideration the great importance it has.
The reason why I am emailing this time is the publication of a book about Current Donkey Functionality and Production. I make this offer to everyone who could be interested in participating or collaborating on the book by writing about the topics listed behind: Milk Production and Characteristics. Meat Production and Characteristics. Mule Production. Donkey Therapy: Treatment of Human illnesses. Rural areas reconstruction or Restoration. Sheperding and Cattle Protection. Fire Prevention. Tourism Perspective. Training. Alternative Uses. Sports or Competitions involving donkeys. Animal Traction and Work.
Any other topic suggested could turn out to be pretty interesting so do not hesitate to contact making your proposal.
Though we have some organisations and entities, companies and departments interested we would like to know who else would be interested in participating. The collaborating entities will be mentioned and their name, the one of the researchers involved and logo will appear on the book information over the chapters they write about, as this is a project belonging to the Donkey Network created. Without further delay, I would like to request your participation and I would be extremely grateful for any help or advice you could provide directly involved with this activity or any other you think would be interesting to be included or arranged. Do not hesitate to contact me on this email, anytime. Thank you in advance and would like to hear from you soon. P.S.: I remind you about the existence of an email [email protected] that you could use in case you had any suggestion or idea. Do not hesitate to contact it anytime and it will be replied as soon as possible. Without further delay I attach the list with the addition of new collaborators, please have a look to it and be invited to suggest any other that could be interesting to be contacted. Thank you for your support Yours sincerely
