Dear parents and friends,
The new student work packs
and books are ready for
collection from 12 noon today.
Please make sure the first set
of books is returned so the
teachers can reuse them for
the following fortnight (and to
check on students’ progress).
Keep using the timetable and the accompanying videos on Seesaw to
guide each day’s work. The children should be working to the time
allocations provided (see the original letter sent home to all families at the
start of this new period of remote learning—it is reprinted on pages 20-22
of this week’s newsletter).
A reminder that the daily WebEx meetings are really a chance for some
general reminders and a social catch-up. The poor quality of the internet
connection and the uncertainty of WebEx connections makes it impossible
to achieve any detailed teaching thought this platform. The main teaching
and learning takes place through the work tasks provided as well as the
teacher posted videos and instructions on Seesaw. It has been great to
see the students posting examples of their work each day on Seesaw.

Continue to contact the teachers if there is an issue regarding
home learning.
Our remote learning display board is starting to fill up and we
look forward to adding some of the returned work later today, es-
pecially some of the fabulous art collage work we have seen
posted on Seesaw. Keep sending through photos of your fami-
lies efforts during the remote learning time. We love to see you
all and to share what everyone is up to.
Next week’s school council meeting will be at 7pm on Wednes-
day via WebEx. The agenda, financial reports and policies will be
placed in the bag lockers alongside the students’ new work bun-
dles.
It is less than two weeks until our school’s online Musica Viva
performance. We hope this proves successful and we keep our
fingers crossed for the clarity of the internet connection on the
26th.
Once again, I wish to thank everyone for their co-operation and
commitment in supporting the children during this second re-
mote learning phase. It’s not easy for anyone. However, as long
as we all do our best during this most challenging experience, we
will emerge on the other side knowing we have maintained mo-
mentum with learning and we will be ready to resume from a sol-
id foundation.
Please keep safe and enjoy the small pleasures in life.

The school buses will

Battery Drive
As Covid-19 will most likely stop Parents’
Club from holding any fundraising events
this year we are reminding all families that
we are still able to do our Battery Drive.
Please ask your friends, family & any
farmers you know, if they have any old
batteries they are willing to donate to
Cavendish PS.
Batteries can be taken to
Ben and Erin Cross’ house.

Jump Rope for Heart kicks off this term!
Jump Rope for Heart is a fantastic physical activity and fundraising program that has been run by the Heart Foundation for over 36 years. It’s a great way for your child to keep fit and learn new skills, but it al-so helps raise funds for vital heart research and education programs.
Since Jump Rope for Heart started in 1983, schools like ours have raised more than $104 million for the Heart Foundation’s lifesaving work. It’s important you register your child online, so they can receive the full benefits of the program and participate in online fundraising, simply follow the link below to get started. www.jumprope.org.au/parents
We are planning to still hold this event as a virtual jump off. Stay tuned!!
