As pet owners it is important for us to understand that laws are in place for the safety, amenity and enjoyment of all residents, whether they are pet owners or not.

In NSW if your dog defecates in a public place or on another person’s property you must immediately remove the faeces and dispose of them properly. Failure to do so can incur an on the spot fine of $275 with a maximum penalty of $880.

Pet waste that is left on the ground, especially near streets and sidewalks, get washed into storm drains and drainage ditches and can be

transferred onto our shoes and hands. Bacteria, parasites and viruses found in pet waste can be harmful to water quality and human health.

Picking up after your pooch is not only the neighbourly thing to do, it’s the healthy thing to do, for you and for your environment.

Thank you, From all your neighbours
