Dear LifePath Friends and Family,Spring is gaining momentum, so I’d like to use this opportunityto focus on bright opportunities for the future. Every year, our environment goes through a rejuvenation process in which even oldtrees and ancient meadows respond to the sun’s warm energy andput forth a show of vitality and beauty. LifePath has accomplishedsome great things over this past year’s cycle and we are ready to keepmoving forward.

Last year LifePath took steps to insure the continuing positive futureof the organization. Because of those efforts, we are now preparingto move into a new building which will reduce costs and provideimproved facilities for three of our programs. I am especially happythat the new site comes with a walking path that will allow people to get outside for some fresh air once in a while!

LifePath is continuing to take steps to provide increasing levels ofquality and satisfaction in our services. We are adding new trainingsto our staff curriculum and reemphasizing positive practices and positive outcomes. As this report’s cover shows, respect, dignity, care and independence continue to be

cornerstones at LifePath.

The Governor’s budget request includes funds for staff salaries and funds to provide services for people who have been onPennsylvania’s waiting list. Unfortunately, previous budget cycleshave shown us that only when the Governor’s office and theLegislature come to a final agreement do things get done. We need to make sure that this opportunity does not wither up in the legislative process. Please help us advocate for better services by letting your representatives know that our services are important and that we vote!

Every Monday I sit down with a new group of LifePath staff during their first day of orientation to welcome them to the agency.Just about every day of the week I meet someone that LifePath serves.

Our staff and the people we serve are our future. They bring us energy and open us up to aworld of opportunities.

In the hallway of our Sellersville office recently, I was interrupted from my work-worldthoughts by a middle-aged gentleman’s question, “Can you tie my shoes?” Well, thank heavens for requests like that! A simple request for some basic assistance became an opportunity to get to know a guy named Frankie who truly is a treasure and a joy. His infectious personality is making me smile right now.

Frankie wasn’t too shy to ask for some help. LifePath also has to ask for your assistance.Please help us in our efforts to secure a better future for people like Frankie by making a generous contribution. Thank you for your support.

2005-2006 Partners in Success Even a washout couldn’t drown the fun had at the 19th AnnualLifePath Golf Tournament, held August 15, 2005 at Silver CreekCountry Club in Hellertown. The event raised almost $23,000 tosupport LifePath’s programs and services for individuals with developmental disabilities. The 8th Annual LifePath and PICPA (Pennsylvania Institute ofCertified Public Accountants) Thanksgiving Benefit and Awards luncheon was heldNovember 23, 2005 at the Holiday Inn Conference Center, Fogelsville. Keynotespeaker and University of Notre Dame legend, Rudy Ruettiger entertained and

inspired the crowd of more than 600 guests. The LifePath Outstanding Parent Award was presented toDavid and Pat Sierzega in recognition of their exemplary commitment to their son, David; their family,their personal and professional communities and LifePath. The PICPA

Community Service Awardwas presented to John “Jack” Cooney of The Cooney Group and President Emeritus, Penn StateUniversity – Lehigh Valleycampus. The event raisedalmost $109,000.
