Make it about your friend, about thethings you both care about and how they are the critical components to carry out your mission. Theyare more than just a donation. They are a part of your movement. EMAIL VARIABLESYou can fill in the blanks for these emails, rearrange them, do whatever you like! I added [variablename] throughout the templates. You’ll replace those [variable name] tags with your own informationto personalize the emails. Sometimes I find it easier to create my variables OUTSIDE of the actualcomposition of the emails. But you can just create them as you go, though consider documentingthem externally as well so you don’t have to hunt for them later. Then you can just plug and play.

Not all of the variables are listed in this list some are explained in the templates as you go.

Email variables include:

[who you serve]EXAMPLE: Youth aged 8-19 living in Columbia, MO

[short story or statistic sharing need]Here’s a short video on sharing statistics with instructions on how to make the biggest impact.

EXAMPLE: Middle school students are sitting in Taco Bell parking lots borrowing free wifi to do theirhomework.

[problem you’re trying to solve]In just a few sentences, explain the need for your services in our community, especially RIGHT now inrelation to the impact of COVID. Not sure what I mean? Here’s a short instructional video. And ifyou’re solving a COVID related problem watch this short video addressing how to explain the impactCOVID has had on your organization and a bit more on phrasing your problem.

EXAMPLE: With school going virtual students in Columbia need our support more than ever. They needmore than internet access, they need tutors and even technology just to join school online.
