Dear Boys and Girls, We hope you enjoyed the Bank Holiday and that you have been getting outside for some exercise at this time home from school. Remember, it is important to keep washing your hands properly, to cough and sneeze into a tissue or your elbow, to stay 2 metres away from others when you are outside and not to play with children other than those living in your house. This will help to keep us all safe and well. We have assigned the work below for you to do during the week 6– 8 May. As this is only a three-day school week there is less work for you to do. We would love you to do as much of the work as you can but we know and understand that this is not always possible. Please do not worry about completing all of the work. Some of you might like to participate in an art competition (details attached), drawing or painting a picture showing how you are keeping in touch with some older people in your life. An adult should send a photo of your entry to the address given if you wish to have a try at winning a voucher for €50. Good luck to all who enter! We have uploaded the answers to last week’s Mental Maths and Operation Maths pages on this website page. You can use these to correct your maths work if you need them. We have received many lovely emails from your parents forwarding your work and it is great to hear about all the wonderful things you are experiencing during this time. If you would like to receive feedback on any of the written work you have done, perhaps an adult could take a clear photo of your work (one page per photo) and then email it to your teacher. Please do not put your parents under pressure to do this as they may not be in a position to do so. Your parents have received emails from your teachers so they have your teacher’s email address. Please continue to be kind and helpful at home. Take care and keep safe, Ms Bolton, Ms Connolly and Ms Ryan

Dear Boys and Girls,

We hope you enjoyed the Bank Holiday and that you have been getting outside for

some exercise at this time home from school. Remember, it is important to keep

washing your hands properly, to cough and sneeze into a tissue or your elbow, to

stay 2 metres away from others when you are outside and not to play with

children other than those living in your house. This will help to keep us all safe

and well.

We have assigned the work below for you to do during the week 6– 8 May. As this

is only a three-day school week there is less work for you to do. We would love

you to do as much of the work as you can but we know and understand that this is

not always possible. Please do not worry about completing all of the work. Some

of you might like to participate in an art competition (details attached), drawing

or painting a picture showing how you are keeping in touch with some older people

in your life. An adult should send a photo of your entry to the address given if

you wish to have a try at winning a voucher for €50. Good luck to all who enter!

We have uploaded the answers to last week’s Mental Maths and Operation Maths

pages on this website page. You can use these to correct your maths work if you

need them. We have received many lovely emails from your parents forwarding

your work and it is great to hear about all the wonderful things you are

experiencing during this time. If you would like to receive feedback on any of the

written work you have done, perhaps an adult could take a clear photo of your

work (one page per photo) and then email it to your teacher. Please do not put

your parents under pressure to do this as they may not be in a position to do so.

Your parents have received emails from your teachers so they have your teacher’s

email address.

Please continue to be kind and helpful at home.

Take care and keep safe,

Ms Bolton, Ms Connolly and Ms Ryan

Dear Parents,

We are five weeks into doing school work at home now and we are aware that

there have been many ups and downs along the way. We too are learning. We have

received lots of feedback, thank you. Below are a few points that we hope will

address some of the concerns raised:

We will now upload the schoolwork for the week on the School’s website

on Sunday evenings

Many parents have asked how much work they need to send each week.

Firstly, you are under no obligation to send work through. We encourage

it if you can to keep children motivated and connected. To make this

clearer, moving forward, we will indicate on each week's set work, the

piece(s) we would like you to send to us if possible. There is no need to

forward Mental Maths, tables tests or spelling tests pages. We will

upload the corrections for the maths each week for you and your child to

access. However, if there is a particular maths problem that your child

needs help with, absolutely contact us and we will go through it with them

as best we can.

You do not have to scan everything that you want to send through to us -

if that is convenient for you, great. If not, we are happy to receive

photos, just please make sure that there is one piece of work per photo

and that the photo is clear.

‘Bua Na Cainte’ is not an essential download. It is a large file. However,

there are nice songs, poems and videos attached to the resource which

some children really enjoy. We will include work from ‘Bua na Cainte’ as

optional.

Keep the photos of drawings, sunflowers, baking, fun in the sun, story

writing, fort building etc. coming!

We hope that these changes will make life easier for you. As always, if you have

any concerns, please contact us.

Take care,

Ms Connolly, Ms Bolton, Ms Ryan
