DEAN OF CAREER PATHWAYS AND DUAL ENROLLMENT (ID# P0010872/6206) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direction of the Vice President for Instruction or designee of the President, the Dean of Career Pathways and Dual Enrollment’s responsibility is to:• Work closely with the Vice President for Instruction and

other administrators to provide leadership for planning, directing, and reviewing K-14 career pathways, dual enrollment, and educational programming with high schools, and higher education partners.

• Coordinate and schedule courses in partnership with deans, department chairs, and high schools ensuring coordination of support to faculty at high school sites.

• Supervise and evaluate faculty and assist the Vice President for Instruction in the leadership, administration, supervision, guidance, growth, and direction for local, regional, and State of California initiatives associated with the position as directed and needed.

• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement throughout the district; lead by example; actively participate in and support district-wide participatory governance activities; encourage professional excellence and promote a culture of customer service, innovation, and quality services.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate career pathways and dual enrollment programming as assigned, including faculty evaluations at off-site locations, managing student recruitment, enrollment, resource development, partnerships, community involvement, and teaching site attainment; secure and schedule the use of on and off-campus facilities for classes.

• Provide strategic and operational leadership in the development, assessment and delivery of high quality, innovative CTE programs.

• Provide administrative oversight of Career Pathways and reviews reports; communicate with college leadership on high school partnerships and enrollment management of all enrollment course sections.

• Create and formalize career pathways and roadmaps between high school and College CTE programs.

Program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Educational / Training• A master’s degree from an accredited college or

university in a discipline related to the assignment.

Experience Required• At least two years of faculty experience at the post-

secondary level.

• At least three consecutive years of recent successful leadership or post-secondary administrative and supervisory experience in an educational capacity related to a college or university.

• Evidence of a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, physically challenged, and ethnic backgrounds of students.

Desired Qualifications• An earned doctorate from an accredited college or

university is preferred.

• Administrative leadership experience in the development, organization, and management of instructional programs.

• Understanding of and experience with the principles of participatory governance and effective participation.

• Experience in presenting summary analytical reports about enrollment trends, FTE trends, accreditation reports, cost/benefit analyses, among other reports.

• Experience in budget development, management at school and department levels, and proven ability to manage, evaluate, and procure grants/contracts from local/State sources.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITSSalary Range: The dean is paid at Range 22 on the Academic/Classified Administrators and Classified Managers Salary Schedule ($140,196 to $197,280). Salary placement in the range is based upon comparable experience and qualifications.

Benefits: The district provides California State Teachers Retirement system (STRS), and offers a comprehensive package including: Holiday, sick, vacation, and personal necessity time off; medical, dental, and vision insurance; life insurance and dependent life coverage, accidental death and dismemberment coverage; long-term disability income-protection plan; legal help plan. All premiums are fully paid by the district. Administrators get 24 days of paid vacation leave per year.
