There may be a part of us that has its own agenda And pursues it to our detriment

 This can throw us of course

It may afect us in exhilarating ways Thrilling and headyBut ultimately it is wearingAnd at some point we need to get on with thingsAnd settle down

When we are ready to do this

We can get rid o the lodgerBut he will only go i he wants toOr he will come back when we are unawares

I we try to banish him by orceWe create a conict oneAnd this weakens us!o we must talk to him 

 This takes timeWe cannot hurry a big lie changeAnd expel a part o oursel"es under pressure

We must go deep to do thisBecause the decision comes rom a deep le"elAnd we must reconcile oursel"es to the lodgerBeore we part with himBecause i he goes reluctantly with bitter eelingsWe will always sufer his hostility

 This could weaken usAnd then he might come back

When he has gone we eel a surge o lightness!trengthAnd relieWe don#t realie how much o us he has consumed
