This webinar meets the following HUD Service Coordinator Training Requirements Area(s): Core: Communication Statutory Area: Strategies for Communicating Effectively in Difficult Situations

This webinar is brought to you in collaboration with the American Association of Service Coordinators (AASC). The mission of AASC is to advance the interests of the service coordinator (SC) profession and to provide guidance and professional standards to its mem-bers. The AASC vision is to support members who serve individuals, families, the elderly and persons with disabilities in housing situations through leadership, education, training, networking, advocacy and other member services. AASC represents the concerns of Service Coordinators through interaction with Congress and federal agencies, and educates public and private agencies on the benefits and cost effectiveness of service coordination and service-enriched housing. AASC also seeks to look for and support alternative funding resources and collaborative partnerships that can be duplicated within other housing environ-ments. AASC enhances the professionalism of our constituents through training, networking conferences and opportunities for peer networking in addition to providing information on "best practice" programs. The organization also provides members guidance in the development and implementation of national professional standards of practice and programmatic policies and procedures, ensuring program consistency and sound social work practice within existing housing regulations.
