oftt eases ore altered to serpentine. Hook is
assive and no eridence of schistosity or jointing
IB core.
At 35 gradation in a few inches Into pal* grey
gabbro vitlx lath* and grain* vof altered ferro
magnesian vinfiral in whitish groundmaa* of feld
spar. The contact bettteen gabbro and uLtrabaslo
is not a sharp ehllled one bat rather is blurred
and indefinite orer a width of a few inches.

Diabase — dark grey, massive. Medium grained at
2. 2', gradually becoming coarser grained. At 40'
to 80* coarse grained. From 80', gradually finer
grained to 124'. At 124 - 141 f, chilled, fine
grained diabase.
From 47* - 57', pink feldspar Is present.
Fron 52' - 55.5', contains reddish bands up to 7"
wide associated Kith tiny quartz stringers.
Gabbro — generally dark greenish grey. aedium
grained, and containing approx. 50J6 serpentinized
mafic rainerals and 50/C white feldspar. Sections
of different composition or texture are as follows;
162 - 166 — light coloured, high feldspar leading
contact abrupt and section begins with 3" Mass.
white feldspar cutting darter gabbro at 20O to
core axis.
175.5 - 177 — Wiite variety, largely white feld
spar. Sharp contacts.
177 - 178 — Very dark variety. Contact sharp with
preceding section but abruptly gradational with
the following gabbro.
178 - 188 — Coarse grained dark variety (50#
f elds.)
192 - 193.5 — Dark variety grades into light
variety. Light variety in abrupt gradation with

Casing.
Medium, grey green, fairly massive "gabbro. !^rox-
ene crystals completely altered to pale green ser
pentine place* 1/8" to 1/4" diameter. Feldspar is
white to greyish.
From 20* to 22* — fine grained grey mas si Y* gran
itic dike with a little disseminated pyrite. In
places pyroxene is dark but still looks altered to
serpentine rather than secondary hornblende. Feld
spar shows good crystal form in places with altered
pyroxene occupying interstices between crystals.
Proa 100* - 101* — grey granite dike,
Pro* 122 - 123 * — msditta grey fine grained sil
icified granite dike.
From 126.5 to 130.5' — ssjie as 122* to 123* with
contact at 35O to core axis*
188 to 189* — tost core.
Prom 330 to 331.5* — grey to whitish feldspathic
section with very little ferromagnesian mineral.
Proa 363.5 to 368.5' - dark grey, more basic phaM
of gabbro but not peridotite type.
From 363.5 to 386* — medium to fine grained mas-
sire grey granite.
Prom 386 to #50' — medium grey green gabbro typici
of all core.
