My Expectations...In order for this year to be successful, I am seeking parent/guardian cooperation as well as that of the stu-

dent. By working together, we can ensure that expectations in discipline and academics remain at the highestpossible level. Since communication is an important step in the cooperative process, I would like to make you

aware of a few of my expectations. Enter the classroom quietly, check the agenda on the board, and be working on the Bell Ringer before the

    bell rings.

Enjoy your food or drinks outside of the building, if you have one with you, place it on the counter. Youmight be given permission to visit it sometime during class in a designated area.

Do not perform any functions on the computer that you have not been instructed to do so. This includesgame playing, viewing inappropriate material, aimlessly surfing websites that do not pertain to our topic.

Report missing or damaged equipment at the beginning of class.

Pick up and clean up after yourself; do not leave me with your mess.

Chairs do not spin, roll around, race, mistreat or do anything other than sit still in them.

When I want your attention I expect the entire classes full attention. I am not going to compete with side

    conversations.

Raise your hand if you have a question, I will either come to your computer area or respond in some otherway deemed appropriate at that time.

I will always dismiss the class, NOT the bell. Once I dismiss you, push your chairs in and leave quietly.

Book bags need to be placed under your deskout of the way so that I can freely visit each station.

Textbooks - If or when we use them, please take care of them

Raise your hand any time you want to get out of your seat

Absent? It is your responsibility to find out from me or a classmate what you missed, no matter what thereason for the absence, and get that work made up and turned in to me.

Restroom Ask to go, fill out the sign out/in sheet, take the pass, go quickly, and sign back in.

    Knowing your grade Skyward

If you finish early or find yourself with idle time - Find something quiet and constructive to do. Sleepingor talking is not constructive. Games, aimless surfing, and watching videos are definitely not constructive

and therefore not allowed. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

Responding to a fire drill/tornado drill-

Talking is to stop and wait for me to give you further instruction.Remember, silent evacuations.

Using good manners and being respectful - I respect you as an individual and I expect the same treatment

in return and to your fellow classmates.

Off limit areas in my room - NEVER be in them, without expressed permission from me: my desk area, any student computer I happen to be logged in to, and the cabinets/drawers along the wall

Having a bad day? - We all have them, once in a while. If you are having a bad day I need to know before

the bell rings, no details are needed, just tell me I am having a bad day today. If I ok it then you havepermission to have limited participation in class that day. However, that does not excuse you from the les-

son, assignments, or tests that may occur that day. If I can help in anyway let me know, when it is appro-

    priate.

What happens if you are caught cheating-

Both parties involved will get Zeros for that assignment, theirseats will be moved and their parents will be called. Turning in someone elses work as your own or hav-

ing somebody elses work in your network folder is also considered cheating.

The day of a quiz -The Bell Ringer will usually be to review for the quiz for a few minutes then I will askthe class for any last minute questions. Quizzes are taken online.

Make up work-I will be available most days before or after school as long as we arrange it first. Arrange-

ments can also be made to check out a book or put files on a CD for you to take home.

Consequences for negative actions will include (most of the time in this order) 1) a verbal warning, 2) de-tention, 3) a discipline referral. Depending on the circumstances of the action an immediate referral may be

    deemed appropriate.

Positive feedback will include (but not limited to) praise, a positive note or call home, whole class reward.
