The DeWALT Bluetooth® radio adapter is designed to enable a worksite radio or other audio device to accept a Bluetooth® signal from a mobile phone or other device with Bluetooth® audio functionality.

Do Not use under wet conditions or in the presence of flammable liquids or gases.

Do Not let children come into contact with the unit. Supervision is required when inexperienced operators use this unit.

• Young children and the infirm. This appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons without supervision.

Charging the adapterThe DCR002 has an internal, non-removable, rechargeable battery. Do not attempt to remove the battery from the device as you may damage the device.

To charge the unit, connect the USB charging cable into the charging port (c) on the unit and then plug it in to an appropriate USB port.

Longest life and best performance can be obtained if the battery pack is charged when the air temperature is between 18° and 24 °C (65 °F –75 °F). DO NOT charge the battery pack in an air temperature below +4.5 °C (+40 °F), or above +40.5 °C (+105 °F ). This is important and will prevent serious damage to the battery pack.

NotE: While the unit is charging, the LED indicator (b) will be on solid red. If playing music while charging the LED will alternate red and blue. When charging is complete, the red LED indicator will be off. When the unit needs to be charged the LED indicator will flash red once every 20 seconds. The Bluetooth® device will fully recharge in 4 hours or less.

FunctionalitytuRNiNG the adapteR oN aNd oFF

To power the adapter on press and hold the control button (a) for 4 seconds. The LED indicator will flash blue for 3 seconds indicating the unit is on.

To power the adapter off press and hold the control button for 4 seconds. The LED indicator will flash red for 3 seconds indicating the unit is powering off.

paiRiNG the adapteR With a Bluetooth® audio deviCe (FiG. 1)

1. Place the adapter and the Bluetooth® audio source within one metre of each other.

2. With adapter off, press and hold the control button (a) for 8-9 seconds until the LED (b) rapidly flashes red and blue. This puts the adapter in pairing mode lasting for 2 minutes.

3. Activate the Bluetooth® search function of your audio device or mobile phone. Once the adapter is found (will appear as: DeWALT Adapter DCR002) confirm pairing on your device. Once pairing is successful the rapid red/blue flashing of the LED will cease and the indicator will flash blue once every 5 seconds. If paired successfully, your audio device should now be able to connect with the adapter. Consult with your device’s owners manual for details on pairing and connecting.

CoNNeCtiNG aNd MouNtiNG the adapteR to a WoRkSite Radio (FiG. 2, 3)

The Bluetooth® adapter is compatible with all DeWALT work site radios, most non-DeWALT work site radios and other audio devices with a standard 3.5mm audio in jack.

The Bluetooth® adapter can be mounted and stored on a work site radio or other speaker by mounting the adapter storage clip (e) to the radio. Being mindful of the adapter’s cord length in relation to your radio’s audio jack, apply the adhesive strips (f) provided on the back of the storage clip and to a flat surface on your radio, refer to figure 3. Slide the adapter into the storage clip and connect the 3.5 mm audio plug (d). Remove adapter from clip for charging if necessary.

important Bluetooth® adapter Notes 1. When receiving a phone call on a mobile phone which is streaming

to the Bluetooth® adapter, the music will automatically pause.

2. The unit can be used while charging, but if the charging connection is established while in use, plugging in the unit will turn it off and the unit will need to be turned back on and possibly reconnected.

2. Optimum Bluetooth® streaming range is roughly 9 m (line of sight) to the adapter but distances up to 30 m are possible. Physical obstacles, other wireless devices or electromagnetic devices may affect the connection quality.

NotE: If Bluetooth® connection is lost due to a time of separation exceeding the optimum distance, obstacles or otherwise reconnecting your device with the adapter may be necessary.

3. Due to the characteristics of Bluetooth® technology, the sound heard through the work site radio is slightly delayed from the sound played on your audio device or mobile phone while talking on a phone call or streaming music.

MaiNteNaNCeYour DeWALT unit has been designed to operate over a long period of time with a minimum of maintenance. Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper unit care and regular cleaning.

The internal battery is not serviceable.
