  • Sport for LifeAt Sport for Life we care about all our participants progression in their chosen activity. If our participants are not improving in their sport whilst having fun then we are not doing our job. Our coaches are passionate about teaching their sports. They undertake additional coaching awards, annual first aid training and monthly reviews to ensure that you or your child is receiving the best form of sports education possible. We follow international curricula such as the English Football Association, Austswim, ITF and England Basketball. Sport for Life offer structured classes aimed at developing the whole individual. We have been serving the international community since 2004 by providing high quality sports classes, leagues and events in the premier residences and schools in Shanghai, Hangzhou and Suzhou. We look forward to welcoming you to a free trial class.

MultiSport Shanghai LimitedMultiSport is an expatriate operated professional sports coaching company which has been operating in Hong Kong for over twenty years and commenced operations in Shanghai in January 2006.Their partners include leading international schools, clubs and residences where they provide a wide range of sports coaching programmes primarily for children aged 3 -12 years. MultiSports lessons are taught in English by full-time international staff who are all qualified Physical Education coaches in addition to being qualified in various specialist disciplines such as gymnastics. These progressive award schemes not only provide a systematic approach to learning but also provide an excellent opportunity for children to attain an internationally recognised standard. They also aim to ensure their programmes are great fun and interactive with plenty of warm up games and group participation encouraging sportsmanship, self confidence and promoting the value of teamwork. Our guiding principal is to develop as many positive attitudes towards sport and physical activity as possible and so instil a love of sport that lasts throughout life. (Mr. Ben Goodridge, Multisport).

BSU (Basketball Stars United)Since 2009, Basketball Stars United has offered basketball skills to young athletes from the ages 6 to 17 through training and competition in a multi-cultural environment. Offering programmes at DCS for the fourth consecutive year, BSU endeavours not only to develop the skills necessary for a competitive basketball player, but also to motivate young athletes to improve themselves and the communities around them. The season starts on 15th September. Training is held in the Upper and Lower gym on Sunday afternoons.

Sport for Life BasketballOur basketball programme follows the English Basketball Associations curriculum for player development. We have classes available for beginners and advanced players from Under 6, 8, 10 and 12s, we will also be able to offer classes for older children, if requested. Lessons focus on age and ability appropriate exercises incorporating the artistic, tumbling and rhythmic disciplines of gymnastics. Each students efforts are rewarded through our Gym for Joy Award Scheme which reflects their improvements and achievements throughout this fun and challenging programme. The following descriptions provide an indication of what each age group will undertake:Age 3 and 4 - Through a series of fun and imaginative movements and balances, children develop agility, flexibility, co-ordination and gain confidence and self-esteem. This course is an invaluable start to school and sport.

Age 5 and 6 - Good body posture and flexibility are developed as children are introduced to floor work, beam, vaulting and balances.
