Motivation for the Upgrade
• Much greater QE at reddest wavelengths.
• Spectral length doubled.
• Improved ease of use.
Additional benefits:
• Lower noise (<2.5e- @20s read time)
• 15µm pixels instead of 24µm; low lateral charge diffusion.
• No fringing.
• Standardization of electronics and software.
• Improved LN2 hold time (30+ hours).
